Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition is an eco-friendly Trekking Tour company located in Thamel Kathmandu. Registered in Tourism Ministry of Nepal Government, our mission is to provide excellent trekking tours as follows of the guidelines of responsible tourism. The outstanding feature of this organization is it founded by the team of local experts who have been dedicatedly engaged in tourism since 2004. Organizing trekking/hiking in the Himalayas are core activity that we do. On top of them, we also organize day tours, leisure tours, peak climbing, mountain expeditions, helicopter tours, mountain biking tours, pilgrimage tours and various adventure trips such as rafting, canoeing, paragliding, bungee jumping and jungle safari. When we organize any trip we always careful to minimize the negative impacts of tourism in the local society and the natural environment and to maximize the local economy by preserving cultural and ecological values.

We arranged this trip following researching different treks in Nepal and Tibet. it was a special trip to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary. We settled on pikey peak route as it was a mid level trip as Everest base camp and Annapurna circuit seems too high altitude and too long for the amount of night we had. We wanted to see Everest ( and some of the other 8000 meter plus mountains) but through that this option would give is a view without the worry of altitude sickness, it didn't disappoint.
I contacted 4 companies in Nepal about the trip, Excellent Himalayan Trek (in particular Suman the director) was great with his communications, he adapted the itinerary to our needs and gave us and all inclusive price.
We loved our trip and Yem and Yogis our porter and guide help to make the trip memorable. We adapted the itinsry mid trek as we had a particularly hard days walking and wanted to shorten a day to stay at a different tea house, they did this for us with no issues.
The walk was harder then we expected but it challenge us and we where encouraged to do things at our own pace which really was appreciated.
The quality of accommodation on the track was varied and gave us a good feel for Nepalese mounting life. The hotel in Kathmandu was also really good both in quality and location. Transportation to the mountains was by private jeep and again was good quality, stopping for breaks whenever we wanted.
We had 2 days in Kathmandu on return from our trek so a city tour by car and on foot was arranged for us, the quality of the guide storgon made the tour memorable in both his knowledge and his excellent English.
A farewell meal with traditional dancing was arranged for our final night and was included in the price, it was a great final night in Kathmandu and highly recommend that you include this in your trip
Suman and the team went over and above with supporting us with arranging a SIm card and credit for my mobile and even presenting us with a gift for our 25 anniversary!
Top tips for your trip: pikey peak is a good trek and easier then the higher altitude trips, but still by no means an easy option. There are hard days walking that are up to 10 hours, the altitude at peaky is over 4000 meters so little chance of altitude sickness but still low oxygen levels. I recommend you take walking poles to make the down hill easier, if you want internet access or mobile signal pick up a free local SIM card at the airport (need to have a passport photo to add to the form you complete, I read that in a review before we went and it make the SIM card pick up just after bag collection a 30 second job), book with excellent Himalayan trekking the team are really outstanding in quality, support and value for money.

Had an excellent experience with Excellent Himalaya. I booked a 16-day itinerary for Annapurna Circuit but asked if possible to add a side trip to Tilicho Lake on a very short notice. Amazingly Suman and Laxman, my guide, worked out the alternative to accommodate my request on the go. Everything went so smoothly. I enjoyed every single moment of the whole trip. Laxman is the best type of guide I could hope for. He’s not chatty but very professional. He arranged and adjusted the itinerary so perfectly that we always trek in the best weather and trail conditions. With his help, I was able to witness the magnificent avalanche, the wild lives, and a lot of local activities, that made my ACT memories so rich and unforgettable. I would go with Excellent Himalaya for my next trekking in Nepal and highly recommend them to my friends.

I recently spent 30 days over in Nepal, whereby I did the EBC trek starting from Salleri (19 day hike without flights required to Lukla), a safari in Chitwan and several tours around Kathmandu, all of which Suman from Excellent Himalaya Trek arranged for me.
The communication from him both before and during my time in Nepal was excellent and he and his wife were very attentive all the time I was there.
My Guide on the EBC trek was Laxman who was very experienced & well organised throughout and also flexible in terms of the itinerary and the porter Suman (not to be confused with the Suman who runs the business) was outstanding.
If you have the extra time available, I would certainly recommend doing the trek from Salleri as it has some of the most beautiful scenery and there are only a handful of other tourists doing this hike (and I was there during peak season) meaning you get to spend more time interacting with the locals at the tea houses than when you're in the busier parts.
Following EBC I spent 3 nights at Chitwan where I stayed at the Green Park resort which was fantastic. The food & service at the resort was top class and all of the safari tours were well organised and fun to do.
After Chitwan I decided to work remotely for a week from Kathmandu so that I could do some tours around the city in the morning and work after lunch. Suman put together a great selection of half day tours which both himself and his wife actually delivered . All the tours were enjoyable and gave a good insight into the culture and many heritage sights around Kathmandu not to mention enjoying some of the fine local delicacies along the way.
Overall whatever you are looking to do over in Nepal I would strongly recommend Suman & Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition services to meet your needs.

My husband and I just completed the Annapurna circuit trek and had a wonderful time. It was our first visit to Nepal, and we are so grateful that we found Suman’s trekking company online. He was very prompt in responding to all queries from the start and took care of all the logistics of organizing the trek for us. It was great interacting with him and his wife Siddhi, who picked us up at the airport, helped to review our gear and purchase some additional gear. They were super friendly, easy to communicate with and very helpful in every way.
Our guide Yogi on our trek was very professional, patient and attentive to all our needs. We could not have made it over the Thorang La pass without his help. We were happy this was a private trek and so we could modify the itinerary based on our fitness level and Yogi was very helpful, knowledgeable and flexible to make changes along the way as needed. The porter Ishwor was great and always had a smile and helpful.
Overall, the scenery was stunning and enjoyed the whole trip very much thanks to Suman, Siddhi, Yogi and Ishwor. Glad we started the trek at Bhulbhule which helped our body to gradually adjust to the altitude and saw many beautiful waterfalls along the way!
We would highly recommend Suman’s company to anyone, and we hope to come back to Nepal and will use his services again. Thank you, Suman, for the memorable adventure of a lifetime

We trekked the Annapurna Circuit in late March through early April, reaching Thorong La Pass with a detour to Lake Tilicho.
From the moment we inquired about the hike via email, Suman (manager) was incredibly professional, informative, and responded quickly. He met us in Kathmandu and gave a comprehensive briefing, with everything we needed to know and all necessary documentation and permits ready to go.
We had a rockstar team with us: Mun was our guide and Ramesh our porter. Within a few days of hiking, we quickly became friends and by the end of the tour, they made us feel like family. Our guide was an expert in navigating the proper routes and booking comfortable lodgings with the best food recommendations. I don’t know how we would have passed certain sections of the trail (that were a bit precarious) without the help of our guide.
At the end of the trek, Suman invited us to dinner and provided us with a completion certificate in ceremonial fashion. He’s incredible knowledgeable about the history and culture of Nepal and it was a pleasure to learn from him and witness the enthusiasm and passion he has for his country.
We’re so happy we booked with this agency and would absolutely consider them again if we trek in Nepal in the future.

To trek in Nepal is always on my husband and my bucket list and to be able to trek with our 2 teenagers (16 and 14 years old) doubled the joy.
This credit must go to Suman who assured and reassured us that ABC trek is suitable for family even for children who are first time trekkers.
Suman has helped us to arrange everything, answered all our questions promptly and professionally and what can I say, the entire arrangement was more than perfect. Suman is very knowledgeable, be it history, mountains, Nepalese culture and no questions were left unattended.
We were fortunately to have a good English-speaking guide, Mr. Om who was a very helpful, witty and always made sure we were warm enough at night. We were also accompanied by 2 porters, Raj and Rosen who always had big smiles on their face.
We were so blessed to be able to trek under clear blue skies the entire journey with stunning view. It was indeed a totally different experience and exposure for the children which you won’t get it in the classroom.
Back in Kathmandu, we were accompanied by Suman. We visited World Heritage sites and Suman introduced us to local delicacy called ‘Yomari’, one of the best Newari food.
Kudos to Suman, his wife and his team for the excellent service provided. They started off as service providers but ended as our true Nepalese friend. We will visit Nepal again for EBC trek and without thinking, Excellent Himalaya will be our first choice for ground arrangement.

I strongly believe that true evaluation of a service provider depends not only on the agreed services but the extend they excel during unexpected issues during the trip.
Excellent Himalaya team (Mr Suman and wife, Mr Sashi (guide) )has been exemplary in both situations.
I took the Everest Base Camp and 3 passes and during the trek I unfortunately suffered from diarrhoea / altitude sickness. The whole team scrambled to ensure my comfort and safety. They even personally went to the evac centre in kathmandu to settle issues.
As a solo traveller, this is the most important component that is expected.
I personally highly recommend Excellent Himalaya for all travellers - they are efficient, professional and most importantly have genuine care and expertise to handle emergency situations.
Thank you Mr Suman and wife, Mr Sashi (guide) and Mr Dakmen (porter) - you all have done a truly excellent job.

This was my second trip and my wife's first trip to Nepal, how lucky were we that we decided to use Excellent Himalaya Trek for our Annapurna Base Camp trek. The professionalism of Suman is outstanding, even before we arrived at Kathmandu we felt confident we had picked the right tour company. Any questions we asked were answered within hours. Once you meet Suman you realise you are dealing with someone who loves what he does and nothing is too much trouble. During our trek we asked to change a few things ie decided to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Chitwan to Kathmandu instead of the bus, he sorted it out within hours. He employs the best guides and porters, we had Sashi as our guide you could not meet a nicer person, very knowledgeable and always happy he even carried my wife's backpack when she was struggling with the stairs!! and our porter Ishwarr (we nicknamed him Superman) was fantastic. It is always a good sign when the staff speak well about their boss. This won't be my last trip to Nepal and I would not use any other company except Excellent Himalya Trek and Expedition - they are the best.

The entire trip from airport pickup to trekking from day 1 to last day was organized very professionally. Mr. Suman, the manager & his team of experienced guide Mr. Ujendra & porter Tikaram they were there to assist us through the most of the trekking. The experience was breathtaking & filled with adlerian rush. The Everest basecamp trekking need physical & mental readiness, it’s not easy & need at-least 4-6 weeks of jogging, running, elevated climbing & meditation with breathing exercise.
We will visit again for more amazing trekking trips & to explore amazing & beautiful Nepal more.
Nepal is a very friendly country most of people understand English & it’s safe to travel as it is a very tourist friendly country.
Please note: An advise keep all your belonging & valuable with you all as lodges in the mountains & most hotels in city don’t provide in-room safe.
We will visit again for more amazing trekking trips & to explore amazing & beautiful Nepal more.
Nepal is a very friendly country most of people understand English & it’s safe to travel as it is a very tourist friendly country.

We did Annapurna Base Camp with Excellent Himalaya Trek for more than 10 days. We booked our tour with them prior the departure, and I have to admit that from the first discussions to our plane back, those teams were simply amazing on every topic you can imagine. We had a great time, lots of exchange and you really feel in super good hands. If you want to go trekking, look no more and go with them eyes closed :-). Thanks again guys and see you next time!!

Hi sir, November is the best time for the trekking. I did the trip with Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition. It was a good and memorable journey with them. You of course can go for Annapurna Circuit with this company. Nice guys. Best Company.
