Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition is an eco-friendly Trekking Tour company located in Thamel Kathmandu. Registered in Tourism Ministry of Nepal Government, our mission is to provide excellent trekking tours as follows of the guidelines of responsible tourism. The outstanding feature of this organization is it founded by the team of local experts who have been dedicatedly engaged in tourism since 2004. Organizing trekking/hiking in the Himalayas are core activity that we do. On top of them, we also organize day tours, leisure tours, peak climbing, mountain expeditions, helicopter tours, mountain biking tours, pilgrimage tours and various adventure trips such as rafting, canoeing, paragliding, bungee jumping and jungle safari. When we organize any trip we always careful to minimize the negative impacts of tourism in the local society and the natural environment and to maximize the local economy by preserving cultural and ecological values.

My partner and I booked a 21-day trek of the Annapurna Circuit through Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition Pvt Ltd. Suman was incredibly responsive during our initial planning and always responded within 24 hours. He helped us craft a custom itinerary that included several additional hikes (Tilacho Lake, Poon Hill, etc) and was able to provide a detailed itinerary including mileage, elevation, duration of hiking per day, packing list and cost of the trip very quickly. Our arrival time unfortunately corresponded with a small monsoon, which resulted in a significant amount of flooding and landslides in Kathmandu. The team at Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition organized lodging for the extra days spent in Kathmandu due to flooding, and also facilitated a Jeep for transportation to ensure that we were able to get to our Trek safely. During our Trek our guide Suman (yes, they are both named Suman) was very kind, knowledgable, informative, patient, and helpful. He taught us about the local culture, explained the history and geology behind the mountain ranges/glaciers, and facilitated our stays at Tea Houses throughout our Trek. It was a pleasure getting to spend so much time with him. We did experience some illness later in the trip, and unfortunately had to cut a few days off the back end of our trip and again the team worked with us to facilitate transportation back to Kathmandu without issue. I would highly recommend booking with this company; they were easy to work with, helped create a custom trip for myself and my partner with a single guide, did an excellent job during the Trek, and were flexible during the trip to accommodate our needs without any surprise costs. We would happily book with them again.

My fiancé and I did the Poon Hill trek in October with our guide Sashi. We did so much research before booking the trek to find the best, most reliable company, and after looking around, Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition was the clear choice — and boy, did it exceed expectations!! From the start, Suman, the team leader of Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition, was extremely communicative and helped customize the trip to our needs. He also graciously answered the 500 questions we had and even jumped on a video call with us before our trek to ensure we felt prepared and comfortable.
Once we arrived in Pokhara, our guide, Sashi, met us at our hotel the night before to look through our gear and help us determine what to pack for the trek. He also took us to a few local shops to pick up a few things we were missing.
Then, it was time to leave for the trek. My fiance and I really didn't know what to expect, but it quickly became clear that this trip would become one of the best experiences of our lives. Sashi was incredible. The trek was challenging yet rewarding, and the views were indescribable. We went in mid-October, so it was pretty warm during the day, but there were plenty of places to stop for water when needed. Sashi and Suman set us up at great Tea Houses overnight that had our own room and bathroom—a luxury while trekking!
Sashi was great about going at our pace and encouraging us when we needed it a little. We chatted along the way and learned so much, not only about Nepal but also about Sashi himself. Sashi really made the trip what it was, and we couldn't imagine ever doing another hike without him. My fiance and I both consider Sashi to be a lifelong friend now.
By the end of the trip, we were already talking about planning our next trek with Sashi. We are thinking Annapurna base camp 2026!

We completed the EBC trek with Excellent Himalaya in October 2024.
From the very first communication with the company owner Suman, we knew that we were in safe hands.
Suman provided clear pricing information, and a tailor made itinerary that worked around our personal needs, making it an easy choice to travel with them.
On arrival in Tribhuvan Airport, Kathmandu we received a warm welcome and transit to our hotel where we were introduced to our Guide Rakesh.
Rakesh was an excellent Guide throughout the trip. He is passionate about the Himalayan region and frequently shared his knowledge and stories from previous trips to EBC and to other Mountains in the region. Which we really enjoyed.
Rakesh has a great personality, he is good company and went above and beyond our expectations to really take care of us throughout our journey. When we were suffering with the altitude, Rakesh had a potion or a pill to get us back on track and kept us moving forwards at our comfortable pace, or taking rest as needed.
It was my birthday on the 6th day of our hike and Rakesh organised a personalized Birthday cake from a local bakery. We were happy to share the cake with the other guests in the Lobuche Tea house who were equally impressed with his gesture. Keeping in mind that we were around 4,800 metres up at this point and the cake really was delicious.
Finally we'd like to mention our Porter, Pemba, who was exceptional in his duties. For our specific needs we were so happy to have him assisting us along the way.

Found Excellent Himalaya through good online reviews and it didn’t disappoint!!
Pre-trip Suman was very helpful and responsive to our queries via both email and WhatsApp. He also kindly helped to customise our itinerary based on our flight timings and our plan for R&R days.
We were received very promptly on arrival and was very well taken of throughout our time here in Nepal.
Before our hike, Suman gave a very comprehensive brief on our EBC hike to help us better appreciate our upcoming adventure.
We had successfully completed our EBC trek with the help of our trusty guide, Sashi, and reliable porter, Krishna. Sashi is a very informative and resourceful guide with 19 years of experience. Our recent trek to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes with Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition was absolutely phenomenal! Suman Shrestha, the owner, and our guide, Yogesh, made this challenging journey feel seamless and rewarding.
Navigating the logistical challenges of the Everest region, including flight cancellations to Lukla , extra 3 days of Offroading and hiking was challenging, but Suman and Yogesh handled every detail with professionalism and care. They were incredibly ethical, always putting our safety first, and their communication was top-notch.
Yogesh was a fantastic guide—easygoing and friendly but quick to take strong leadership whenever necessary. His extensive knowledge of the region, combined with his calm confidence, made us feel both relaxed and prepared, even on the tougher sections of the trek. Thanks to him, we were able to fully enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery of the Gokyo Lakes and reach Everest Base Camp with confidence.

Our 16 day trek to Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lake, Gokyo Ri with Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition was as good as it gets!
It was our second trip after last year Annapurna trek. We were in a team of 8 friends -all from Poland.
Excellent Himalaya Trek prepared intinerary based on our expectations. We went first to EBC and later through Cho la pass and Gokyo Lake. It worked really well.
We were coming just after the flood period and problems with flights but had prepared option for that in contact with Suman. Our flights from Europe did not go smoothly, but Suman Shrestha was able to make necessary changes - great flexibility!
Our guides Jag, Ngima and porters team were always availabe and behaving in a professional manner. Great support and capability to adjust the pace to our photo making sessions without problems. Knowledge of local rules and obviously trail conditions, upcoming weather conditions, suggestions what to wear were very valuable.
When seeking trekking agency in Nepal, we recommend Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition. They really take seriously customer focus and show great flexibility. We always felt our needs were treated with respect. When coming to a distant country with aim to spend 2 weeks with physical effort it's great feeling to be supported in such a dedicated way.
It helped us to experience this Himalaya trek like we could only wish.

My trekking tour to Pikey Peak and Dudh Kunda base town SarasBeni was a complete success. Well organized and fantastic views. It is worth it, as the trek can also only be made over Pikey Peak in 5 days.
The toughest challenge is the day from Thupten Gompa to Saras Beni as it goes up at 1300m to almost 4300m and no lodgex on the way. However, this day on the “ Himalayan Highway” is a dream, with almost 9 hours even the longest. Would book again at any time with this agency. Guide and porter top. Communication excellent

After extensive research and visits to various agencies, we ultimately chose Excellent Himalaya Track travel agency. Suman and his wife provided us with exceptional assistance, promptly and thoroughly addressing our inquiries. They presented us with multiple options and attentively listened to our preferences, ultimately guiding us to the Gokyo Renjo La Pass. Our primary aim was to escape the hustle and bustle, seeking awe-inspiring scenery along the way. One of the highlights of our journey was Gokyo-ri, where we embarked in the dead of night, treated to an unforgettable display of stars illuminating the sky. Our guide, Laks, ensured we frequented the finest teahouses, where we indulged in delicious meals and gleaned profound insights into the local region through his expertise. Even amidst inclement weather and limited visibility, we felt secure, thanks to our decision to enlist a guide. Laks also afforded us the freedom to venture alone at times, capturing the most breathtaking moments of our excursion through his photography. We wholeheartedly recommend Excellent Himalaya and Laks as guides to anyone considering such an adventure; in fact, our parents are planning to book with them later this year! Five stars! First of all, I'm not exactly the person to book organised trips or to write reviews, yet here I am doing exactly that for a guided Annapurna Circuit I booked with Excellent Himalaya. Suman was very easy and quick to communicate with and answered all my questions and more, made a customized trek to my wishes, and most importantly did this always with a smile. This was my first real trekking ever and he picked Achyut to be my guide, which turned out to be a great match and who became a friend who even invited me for a dinner and joined me for a temple visit outside of Kathmandu in the days after my trekking was done. Took care of me when I was ill for a day and got me safely over the Thorung La pass. I'm very grateful for the flexibility of both Suman and Achyut as during the trek we changed the itinerary a bit, slept in alternative (less busy) places, did a different acclimatisation side hike, etc. This was an amazing experience and it would not have been the same without Suman and Achyut. Recommended and to be repeated! Thanks a lot

Hi sir, November is the best time for the trekking. I did the trip with Excellent Himalaya Trek and Expedition. It was a good and memorable journey with them. You of course can go for Annapurna Circuit with this company. Nice guys. Best Company.
