Me and my partner went for a 4 night 5 days trek to Mardi Himal (base camp at an altitude of 4500m and view point at 4200m)

Nepal Wilderness Trekking organized this trek for us. I found Nepal Wilderness Trekking online via google search and got in touch with the owner of the company Mr. Himal via the phone number mentioned in the website. On the communication front, Mr. Himal was highly responsive, sent us an itinerary quickly and was accommodating to our needs. After we arrived in Kathmandu, we felt very well taken care of: all our questions were quickly answered. He also organised numerous bus tickets for us for our trips to different parts of Nepal just based on the text messages, which he would book for us and we would pay at the bus directly- which was stress free and relaxed.

On the day of trekking itself, we were accompanied by guide, Mr. Rajesh and porter, Mr. Dhan. Our guide, Mr. Rajesh, was very nice, met us in Pokhara the day before our hike to ensure that we went through the list of needed things, and prepared us mentally for the trek and what we could expect. Throughout the trek, he was thinking along with us and was very caring during the breakfast, lunch and dinner time and at accommodation cottages in the evening arranging extra blankets because I get cold easily. We didn't know much about the drinking water situation as we ascended; so he helped us prepare for extra bottles of water. We bought enough at the hills when we could still do it. He even prepared food from the menu in one of the rest areas because it would have taken the cook from that place longer. On the last day when we had done enough and were dragging our last reserves (very sore muscles), he evaluated the situation and organised a jeep for a last bit of 1.5 hours. Our guide, Mr. Rajesh was knowledgeable, and had plenty of experiences above 6000m trekkings which was reflected in the way he was present for us. We also liked the calm energy of Mr. Rajesh, who would not be around all the time but just enough to give us space and let us explore the trail.

All in all, we had a great experience. The views were spectacular, the journey was breathtaking and both Rajesh and Dhan were wonderful! Plus, the owner, Himal, is a very kind and reasonable person, and offered competitive prices for high quality trekking. If you are planning to go trekking, I highly recommend this company and their team.

We booked with Nepal Wilderness Trekking this winter holiday for a 12 day trip around the Ghorepani region. It was an incredible, worthwhile and rewarding trip.

During our trip, we passed through several quaint villages in the mountains, which were as picturesque as can be imagined. The hiking was slightly difficult, but if you are in decent health it's not a real issue. The guides will always pace themselves based on your ability with no judgement. At night, we stayed in local tea houses, which offered an array of delicious foods, heat, and kind faced after a hard day of trekking. All the tea houses were more adequately prepped for sleeping arrangements.

Whilst we originally had reservations about going in winter, mostly due to other reviews online about the cold, it really wasn't an issue. If anything, it was a blessing. The views were dusted with snow and picturesque, whilst there were virtually no tourists until the last day. At night temperatures dipped, but there were always blankets and fired to stay warm beside. Some people prefer spring, however I believe winter was an equally great time to go.

Our guide and porter, Riddhi and Raavi, were incredible people. Truly some of the kindest and sincere people you could meet. They had a vast knowledge of the area around them and were great at giving information about the culture. Both made the trip more enjoyable and their happy-go-lucky presence was infectious. It really helps to have when you're some hours deep into a hike. Particularly, the comfort in knowing you have a well trained guide directing your paths on some confusing roads really helps ease your mind.

Overall, the company were highly professional to deal with and the package was very comprehensive. It is entirely worth the money. When travelling on trip, you realise that it is actually great value once you factor in beds, food and permits. I would highly recommend Nepal Wilderness Trekking. The trip had left me with incredible memories and is perhaps the most beautiful trip I have been part of.

We completed the Ghorepani/Poon Hill trek in October 2022.

From start to finish it was organised excellently. We got in touch with Himal from an online recommendation who was very responsive when booking, the rates being the best we could find and the itinerary being the most detailed. Himal gave us a few options for our trek itinerary (we went with Option C which included a trip to the Jhinu hot springs on the penultimate day) which helped us customise the experience we wanted. Following this, the trek with Yakub and Silas was exceptional - beyond guiding us through the trek and taking care of us at every juncture, their English was fantastic and they helpfully described the region and country to us over the five days, which hugely enriched the experience. Not only were they very attentive to our needs on the trek (we wanted for nothing), but they’ve also become close friends. Their knowledge of the area is unmatched and they gave a very genuine account of Nepalese culture, all the while being social and very friendly.

The all-inclusive price and established guides made the trek as comfortable as possible, and we were super happy with the experience - I would definitely recommend to others.

For the second time in my life, I was driven to Nepal by some significance in the middle of the Covid confusion. So, in March this year, I set out on my journey completely alone.
Two years ago, I was happy enough to meet Rajesh Gurung , my guide from the Nepal Wilderness Company, who introduced me to Mr Himal. As an insatiable, long life hiker ,I usually ask for the additional climbing options. So, Mr Himal organised my trip in details granting me ,even, Tilicho Lake trek, Thorong la Pass and Mardi Himal in addition.
We came from Kathmandu to Bessisahar by local buss than took a jeep to Bahundanda where we stayed overnight and started to walk from the next morning.
I would use this occasion to oppose some complaints relating the new street which replaces some original and partially damaged pathways. From my opinion this is really, the minority issue in comparison with the natural beauty of the river Marsyangdi, gorgeous landscapes, scenes associating with another worlds , breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and ancient cities that stretch along the way as you proceed your way upstream of the river;
Tal, Chame, Pisang, Manang, Muktinath...to mention just a few of them that preserved the atmosphere of sacredness and kindness from some forgotten times in the past.
The weather was good in this part of the year; sunny and pleasantly warm on the lower destinations , snow idyllic on the Tilicho Lake ( 4.919 m ) and Thorong La Pass( 5.416m) and, almost tropical, in Tatopany as well as on the way to Gorepani and Ghandruk.
Rajesh has ,already ,passed Thorong la pass for seven times in his life.He is familiar with all the Annapurna region, and tea- house management staff, so , even in this times of possible reductions, relating the transport and accomodation, he is capable of finding every solution quickly end efficiently.
I enjoyed his company and inspiring warmth of his personality. His hidden strength, cautiousness , diligence and care had made me feel safe.
I would highly recommend his assistance, advisory help of Mr Himal as well as the service from the Nepal Wilderness Company.

Just completed the 5 day Mardi Himal Trek and had an amazing experience with my guide Rajesh! We had some unexpected weather but Rajesh always made sure I was comfortable and ultimately my experience was going well. Due to heavy snow we weren’t able to get to the upper view point but we proceeded as high as he felt safe. We ended up with some spectacular views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare.

Tea Houses that we’re chosen for the trek either met or surpassed my expectations. I always felt comfortable in my accommodation and the food was excellent. Between having all permits, guide/porter, room/board and transportation the prices offered are very competitive. Additionally, from email communication, collecting my permits from Himal in Thamel and meeting Rajesh in Pokhara everything went very smooth!

Thanks for an unforgettable experience!!

We had a great time on the Mardi Himal Hike. Bishal our guide was fantastic and the best guide I’ve EVER had in Nepal, he’s a very passionate and engaging person and if you want to, you can learn so much about Nepalese culture, politics, wildlife, language and traditions. As a PhD student studying here my talks with Bishal were fascinating beyond the beauty of the hike. Our Porter Anil was kind and friendly and like most porters made it look easy! Between the two of them we really felt the true Nepali hospitality, kindness and humour. The Himalayas are tough going and the accommodation on route is simple but if you have an open mind you will soon fall in love with Nepal and the Himalayas and come back again and again!

The final day of mardi himal includes a sharing jeep from siding, this means you have to wait to find others who take the journey and fill up the jeep. Due to the time we arrived (I.e not in the morning) there was not anyone to join and we would have had to pay the difference for the journey about 20 dollars, this could have been better explained on the itinerary. However this issue was sorted by Himal and he covered the difference. Himal was easy to contact and very accommodating, he also suggested when and how to take diamox as I always suffer from altitude sickness and this time I did not!!

These routes could be done unguided but the Himalayas are unpredictable and you never know if you might get unwell or something unexpected will happen and having local knowledgeable guides is a must for me! All in all great value for money and we can’t wait to hike with Bishal again some day!

Himal and Riddhi are the best! I highly recommend Nepal Wilderness Trekking if you are looking for an agency to help you plan your Nepal hikes. We did the 3 Passes Trek, and this is definitely by far the hardest yet the most rewarding trek i have ever done.

We are really lucky and thankful to have Riddhi to be our guide, and the two other porters to take care of us through out the whole 17 days in the mountains. Riddhi is considerate, caring and have a rich knowledge of of the area. I really appreciate that he continuously making sure we are having a good time and adjust our pace and itinerary accordingly.

I just want to leave a comment here to thank Himal, Riddhi and the two porters’ hard work to make this 17 days 3 passes trek so memorable and special for me 🙂

After two visits to Nepal, I ventured into one of the most beautiful treks, the 17 days Everest Base Camp and three Passes, organized by Mr Himal Ghale under the provision of his Nepal Wilderness Trekking Agency.
I took this advantage of being free from work and arrived in Nepal again on the 5th of October this year. As the plane landed at Tribhuvan, a sense of misgiving splashed me, because what I saw out of the plane's window was rain. The monsoons lasted longer than expected this year and the rain followed my guide Rajesh Gurung and me for the first few days of our journey. So, instead of two days planned for the acclimatization in Dingboche, we spent three days there waiting for the rain to stop. Fortunately, those were the last ones, so we didn't miss anything from the sunny views and crystal-clear sky the rest of the days.
Very often, visitors get caught in the defilements caused by high altitudes. More or less, it happened to me this time, as well. But, thanks to Rajesh, who helped me reduce my overloaded backpack on the way, I managed to reach the Everest Base Camp and all three passes with three peaks by the 23rd of October.
The Kongma La Trek was a bit of an adventure since the sun had already set when we arrived at the edge of Solukhumbu Glacier, where the direction mark for Lobuche stayed. So, we had to carry on with crossing the glacier in the middle of the dark. At the moment, it looked like we had lost the path. However, when I had already resigned to the fact that we would spend the night there, listening to the rocky boulders falling into the water, Rajesh detected the way.
I warmly recommend the assistance of his knowledge, patience and thoughtfulness that can match the requirements of critical trekking occurrences.
After all, I didn't regret any shortness of my breath, since I witnessed the beauty of nature worth dying for.
Here are some unforgettable moments captured by my camera.

We did the 3 passes trek with this company and it was very challenging, but rewarding and worth it. It is one of the harder ones than the ones people typically do (16 days, several nights above 15,000 ft and we did clockwise direction), so it can really push you to your absolute limits. I would recommend this trek for those in pretty good hiking shape as even in the best shape, this will still kick your butt.

We were thankful to have a guide and porters with us. Our guide, Riddhi, was great - he was warm, welcoming, and took great care of us (there was a lot of adjustment needed to get used to the altitude, cold, and physical requirements needed to do this trek). You’re together for a long time doing this hike and it was nice to have someone who knew what they were doing and take care of lodging and details. It was also really nice to see that guides also get excited about the mountains as well. He was just as excited to see the view from the passes and Mt Everest as we were.

Our porters did a great job as well, carrying our extra baggage. It’s truly hard to imagine having to carry everything you’d need for this trip by yourself.

Our guide manager, Himal, prior to the trip was very communicative and responsive. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful when one of our friends needed help on the trip. He was truly a good person to have to know for this trip. I found the value and price for this tour was extremely worth it and would recommend this company.

The communications with Himal at the office were always quick and clear while preparing it, they propose treks at a good price on fixed dates.

Once in the trek we were well looked after by the guide Bhabiraj and the porter Robin with whom we acted as a team assessing on the difficulties and adapting to the weather conditions, giving us fruit and hot tea.

Despite the rain at the beginning of October, we enjoyed the beauty of the landscapes with waterfalls everywhere, even the fog that covered the great mountain, we achieved our goal and felt inside, it was a great experience and a great pleasure.

Thank you veri much!
