I did the Poon Hill trek with Nepal Wilderness Trekking. It was a 3 day trek with guide Yakub. As it was my first trek in Nepal, I felt more comfortable starting with a guide and local agency. I was not disappointed. Yakub was a great guide from start to finish. He really communicated well before the trek started. Then during the trek he also made sure we had the best and most comfortable experience. Giving good explanations, making sure we were feeling good during the walk, always being just behind us to be able to see the whole group (of 3). He also made sure we had best food and lodge on the way. He was very flexible with every demand we had and his main focus was making sure we were happy. The bonus for me is that we managed to build a real relationship with Yakub, not only guide to customers but companions who share this experience altogether. We even had dinners after the trek together. Additional bonus is Arian and Dunstan I met just before landing in Nepal and who I shared this trek with. It definitely made the experience perfect for me. Thank you for being my companion on this journey and sharing all these experiences :) Thank you for Nepal Wilderness Trekking for this trek. I will definitely recommend you to friends who want to trek in Nepal.

Before arriving to Nepal, I've asked Himal a lot of questions about the trek as I was concerned, to which he was continuously very helpful throughout! Himal has organised 2 guides with us, Lal & Rabi, to which they were the very best throughout. They ensured our safety, they taught us of the many villages we were crossing and the plan for the next day to be prepared. The teahouses were also comfortable and treated us well with good food; just prepare money for some deserving tips! It is considered a beginner's trek but be prepared for a lot of stairs to climb! It was an unforgettable experience though, and their encouragement for us to keep going was all worth it. The views at the top were worth it, the best experience I've had in travelling. Thank you Himal and the guides you have provided us with.

This trip to Nepal was on whim. Coming from Thailand we didn’t have the most trekking gear so we opted for the Poonhill 3 day trek. As experienced trekkers this was the perfect glimpse into what trekking in the Himalayas has to offer. Albeit it is manageable in 1 day if you’re a fast hiker, this trek allowed for us to really take in the views and the unique experience. Yakub was our guide and he made sure to let us know what the plan was ahead of time. He took extra care making sure we were all comfortable and had what we needed. He was jovial and a pleasure to spend 3 days with. He documented our adventures with candid pictures and we loved talking during the hike. He really assisted in making it that much more memorable. He even allowed us to jump into the water for a quick dip at the end of the last day. He made sure we were safe at all times. We’ve invited him to do some white mountain/Appalachian trail trekking. I hope he accepts, and I can show him just as much fun. The tea/guest houses have just about everything you’ll need…Pillows, blankets…etc. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper, towels, and some cash for tips and extra tea/coffee or menu items. Also check into your own bus ride there. Our wasn’t exactly what we thought it would be like. Experiences may vary. This is a great company that’s trustworthy and you’ll love the guides.

My husband and I have just finished a 24-days 3-passes-trek (Ama Dablam BC, Island Peak BC, EBC, Chukhung Ri, Kala Patthar, Gokyo Ri, Bhote Koshi Valley). Thanks to Himal Ghale who answered all our e-mails promptly and competently we met our wonderful porter/guide Makaraj Tamang. Makar was ready to help in all situations (finding the best lodges for the best price, giving information on landscape, culture, food). It was a pleasure to start every new morning seeing him smile and having fun together. On the way he was very attentive and considerate so that we always felt save. We can absolutely recommend Nepal Wilderness Trekking and the guide Makar Tamang for an awsome trekking experience in the Everest region.
