I was recommended Good Day Nepal through a friend who has trekked EBC several years ago. I contacted Deepak from my home in Canada and he so kindly made the trip possible. His services are above and beyond what you would expect, from booking flights, helping me pack, and getting me mentally prepared! It was nerve wracking to travel alone but he was so helpful and kind and helped me feel at home in Nepal. Also, he is very well liked and connected and helps get the best services and deals while in Kathmandu. I loved some of the restaurants he took me too, very authentic and delicious. My EBC guide, Nima Sherpa was terrific. He was very caring during some tough moments. The trek was unbelievable and I would recommend Good Day Nepal to everyone. Thank you Deepak and Nima for your amazing services!

On our first trip to Nepal, our family of mom, dad and 2 and 4 year old children, decided to trek up to Poon Hill with Good Day Nepal. They were recommended by friends and did not let us down. Deepak went well beyond what I had expected of a guide service, purchasing domestic flights and taking care of all domestic transportation and accommodation for our young family. Although our international flight was delayed, Deepak went out of his way to ensure we still made it on a connecting flight to Pokhara. He spent hours at the airport waiting for us and speaking with the airlines to make sure we made it to Pokhara in time to do the trek, especially important because we were only in Nepal for 7 days. We met our guide, Ashish in the airport in Pokhara and immediately felt at ease about the trip. Ashish and our porter Ganish did everything they could to make the trek comfortable, even when we had to change plans midway through due to both of us parents getting sick from the food or water. Both guide and porter were wonderful with our children, walking with them hand in hand hour after hour. Through all of our struggles on this short trek, Ashish never showed signs of frustration or worry. He always exuded a quiet confidence which was quite comforting. Deepak and Ashish have genuine concern for clients. We will never forget our experience and hope to return to see our friends at Good Day Nepal sometime very soon!

My husband and I on making the decision to do some trekking in Nepal contacted Deepak from Goodday Nepal Excursions. He came highly recommended from a close family member who had him as their travel organiser in 2015. We contacted Deepak to organise our trek some several months prior to arriving in Nepal. Deepak was fantastic at providing suggestions for different treks, cultural experiences, itineraries etc. He was also an awesome wealth of knowledge for various things that we had no knowledge on eg restricted trekking permits, what clothing to take, transport around Nepal, money, mobile phone coverage etc. Deepak was so very patient with my continual question upon question, our slowly developing itinerary required confirmation from the other parts of our trip before we could even begin to confirm our trek with Deepak, which was the last part of our 7 week holiday in Nepal. Deepak was always so patient, positive & prompt with his replies. Deepak even assisted us in organising our 10 day white water rafting with a company that we were unable to communicate with effectively. Deepak met us at an ungodly hour upon our arrival at Kathmandu and we were very appreciative that he had prearranged our transport & our hotel upon arrival. We only spent 1 day in Kathmandu and Deepak took charge and arranged all our permits required for trekking including the Restricted Trekking Permit for the Upper Mustang Trek & assisted us to obtain a local mobile sim. Deepak is truly a gentleman and did all he could to assist us in being ready for our trek. Much discussion with Deepak and deliberation on our part went into the final decision to do the Upper Mustang Trek, a decision we are forever grateful for. My husband and I decided to do the Upper Mustang Trek in 18 days as we wanted to enjoy the trek, have the ability for flexibility to change our itinerary if we wanted or needed to, we also were unsure how we would deal with altitude or trekking as this was our first ever trek. This ended up being the absolutely best decision for us. Deepak blessed us with a freelance Upper Mustang guide Sandesh Thapaliya and his most senior guide Ashish Rumba Tamang as porter when on late notice we finally came to the inevitable realisation we needed a porter. We first met Sandesh and Ashish the day before our trek to determine how we were going to carry everything, discuss the jeep ride the next day etc. We had a 9 hour jeep ride from Pokhara to Jomsom, the start point of our trek. The jeep ride gave us all an opportunity to get to know each other better, to see different parts of Nepal that we would not otherwise see, we must admit though it was the toughest road we have ever been on. In total we spent 23 days with these 2 amazing young Nepalese men. Even though they had never met, within a day Sandesh and Ashish were brothers in arms and comrades assisting our every need and working together as an incredible team. We spent the 18 days with these incredible young men on the adventure of a lifetime trekking some 160kms up to 4170m altitude in Upper Mustang. Sandesh always ensured we had the best room available in the tea-house we stayed, we always seemed to have the best view and the beautiful sun coming into our room, which we were super appreciative of. Sandesh also catered to any changes that occurred along the way eg flying from Jomson to Pokhara on the return trip in a professional manner. Both Sandesh and Ashish went over and beyond to ensure our comfort, safety and enjoyment of our trekking experience. We became a tight little team and we would all make contributions to our itinerary and any other decisions that needed to be made. Both Sandesh & Ashish were wonderful in teaching us about the Nepalese culture, language and country. This made our trip complete, they gave us such an insight to Nepal and the people that we would have not otherwise been exposed to. They are passionate young men about their beloved country and their profession and it showed in every way. They are both exemplary guides that we would highly recommend for any trekking expedition. In fact, we only had a few days when we got back to Kathmandu and we used them for a 2 day motorbike tour out of Kathmandu that they organised, a perfect ending to our 7 week Nepal holiday. We thank both Sandesh & Ashish from the bottom of our hearts for their professionalism, entertainment, knowledge, passion and for the wonderful young men they are. Thank you!! Our only three recommendations are: Be clear on what is covered in any package, as fully covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner only covered one item from the menu for meals, which in a significant number of cases was insufficient and additional food had to be paid for incurring additional cost. Further additional costs in the Upper Mustang can include drinking water including hot drinking water, hot showers & gas heating. If you travel by jeep from Pokhara to Jomson for 9hrs you will mostly likely want to fly the return leg, 25min by air, even if you have to spend a day in Jomsom due to flights being cancelled because of wind - it is a one way runway. If you want to Trek Upper Mustang do not put it off and plan to get off the beaten track. Your special permit money is paying for a highway linking China with Nepal and ultimately India to be completed in 5 years so excavators, trucks and machinery abound. Currently Upper Mustang is still an untouched, authentic Tibetan experience. The scenery is spectacular and the people are beautiful. We had many delightful and interesting conversations with these beautiful people through the assistance of our wonderful guides. We all learnt so much about the Tibetan Upper Mustang culture and lifestyle. We would highly recommend doing this trek now before the completion of the highway. To end, we can absolutely recommend the services of Deepak at Goodday Nepal Excursions for all your Nepal travel arrangements. Thank you Deepak for your wonderful & professional organisation and two of the most amazing guides we have ever experienced. Thank you!! Lay-Ah-Nay & Guy Johnstone
