About 4 months ago, I (female solo traveller) chose Responsible Treks for one little trek in Kathmandu Valley and also for trekking the Annapurna Circuit, a dream of mine that I've had for a long time. They were two very different treks, both exactly adjusted to what I had asked for. And what can I say: I've had an amazing time! Chhewang was there for me from the beginning, meeting with me to discuss the routes and to give me information on the treks but also other tips regarding Boudha. He organized everything in a very professional manner and he and his team took care of everything from permits to where I could get my shoes fixed. With me on the trek was the amazing Chhiring, one of the agency's well-trained guides. He took care of everything on the road and I always felt safe. He was also great company on the trek, thanks sathi, for the wonderful hikes and matches of Ludo!
Everyone at responsible treks I interacted with was lovely and very well connected and can help you out with probably everything you might need.
In short: I fully recommend responsible treks, you're in good hands here, also if you want to go to more remote places or want an individualized trip for yourself or a bigger group. Guides are insured and RT also supports great local community projects.
Safe & responsible trekking!

I booked a private 5-days-tour for me and a friend.
Our guide Sonam was not only a guide but became also a friend :)
All the costs were clear in advance, he helped me to find and buy the things I needed for the trek and the tea houses where we stayed were always clean and cosy!
Sonam knows a lot about the nature, nepalese cultre and loves to share all these interesting stories (and songs 😊) about his home near the tibetian border. As a lama he grew up in a traditional family and has an unbelievable inspiring background.
Thank you so much for the incredible experience!
I'm looking forward to come back to Nepal 🇳🇵❤️

Responsible Treks is one of the best travel companies of Nepal. I embarked upon a very unique wildlife photography expedition along with them and they have not only met my requirements to the best of my satisfaction but also took all necessary and added measures to meet unforeseen situations. They helped me in finding and photographing Wild Yak which is considered to be one of the rarest mammals of the region. The expedition took us to the remotest corner of Nepal at Limi Valley in Humla district. Mr Chhewang Lama left no stones unturned in making life comfortable from receiving me at Kathmandu airport till the time I reached Simikot and provided me with all possible assistances at every point which included my stay and excursions at Kathmandu, boarding various flights as well as deplaning.
Finally, at Simikot I met Rinzin Phunjok Lama who is a Wildlife Biologist and is a Rolex awardee. An extremely talented and dedicated conservationist who runs Project Ukali to save the unique biodiversity of the region. He and his team conducted the expedition which included tracking Wild Yaks through extreme terrain and all logistics associated with it. I must make special mention of Phurbu who walked and scanned tirelessly to materialize my dream. Chhang Lama also deserves special mention as he and his ponies kept us alive through those arduous days by preparing the best of the foods and carrying all necessary stuff. Abinash Lama and Kamal Sahi were great assets with their scanning and photography skills. Even at the end of the expedition, when the weather turned bad, the team went out of their way to evacuate from Limi Valley and finally helped me board the first flight which touched Simikot.
I am simply overwhelmed with the professionalism, human touch and added efforts of Responsible Treks without which this expedition could never had been successful. I bet that I will home on to them whenever I visit Nepal for my future expeditions.

I have traveled the world over for business and pleasure, but to my absolute surprise, Responsible Treks and its CEO Chhewang N. Lama and their team are one of the most professional Trekking companies in Nepal.
I was in Nepal on a business trip in November and needed moment-to-moment changes in permits and flight changes and accommodations - Responsible Treks accommodated our needs under a lot of pressure.
Thank you Chhewang Lama for all of your support for our project in Humla, Nepal.

I've been on two group visits to Nepal, both organized and run by Chhewang and Sonam at Responsible Treks. They take care of everything, from suggested itineraries, to booking excellent hotels and teahouses, and organizing great meals. Sonam is a fantastic guide and a lovely person, knowledgable about the landscape and customs of the areas you pass through. He always knows how to support everyone in the best way possible, whether making suggestions or offering encouragement. The guides and porters that work with him are friendly and helpful. They hefted our bags (thank you Tok Tok, Sandeep, and Kunjok), served us meals, talked to us about monastery life (thank you Pema), politics, vegetation, the mountains, wildlife and the history of Nepal. Their generosity is inspiring and having them with us added so much to the trip.
Trekking to Lake Tilicho, Sonam suggested great acclimatization hikes and coached our group of non-athletes to our goal. The views were spectacular, the company was delightful, and it was a trip I will always remember. Nepal is an amazing place and I hope to be back in a couple of years, working with Responsible Treks.

On a week-long trek to Tilicho Lake, I was accompanied by Responsible Treks' team and enjoyed the whole experience. The team put the group's safety first while taking us through breathtaking paths. They were also great with answering questions about the various places and landmarks we visited. I cannot recommend this team enough!

Chhewang Lama and his team are incredible — you truly are getting waayy more than you pay for with Responsible Treks. From conscientious guides that preempt guests’ needs, to helping those with physical limitations up and down trails and difficult steps, to ordering for large numbers in rural restaurants — to cooking for large numbers in rural guesthouses! ;) — to permits and passes and assistance with the government in many ways, I have not seen a better, more comprehensive guide company, period. You will not be disappointed. Also, maybe most important, these guys are **FUN**you will have such a great time with them wherever you go!!

Responsible Treks is truly a magnificent family run operation that combines expert planning, guiding and fantastic people.
My wife, two friends and I explored the beautiful eastern Nepal region of Kangchenjunga. Hiking to both the north and south base camp of the world’s third highest mountain in a remote area of Nepal, was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
This trek was both remote and beautiful.
We experienced the beautiful local culture, stayed at a variety of tea houses, and felt completely welcome at every turn of the trip.
The hiking was substantial though doable with appropriate preparation and medication we all were able to perform.
It was the expert level, guiding and friendly porters that made this trip a true pleasure to go on.
Thank you Responsible Treks

When the weather messes up the schedule and makes paths or roads impassable then you need a good local Agency. And luckily we had that with Responsible Treks. Thank you for a perfect organisation and care and the best guide. The trip through Upper Mustang was amazing and we can absolutely recommend the tour und Responsible Treks!!!
