Just got back from a two week, once in a lifetime trip to Nepal with Third Rock! I’m very glad we began our visit to Nepal in Pokhara, a vibrant, easily accessible lakeside town with nice restaurants and shops. We flew there directly upon arrival at Kathmandu rather than take a 6 hour bus ride. Money well spent. It allowed us to settle into Nepal without the hustle and bustle of the city - at the time I didn’t know how much I would appreciate this looking back on it!! Many places to buy inexpensive, decent quality trekking gear in case you don’t want to bring it from home. Especially trekking poles which may not fit in your bag (pro tip, you cannot carry on trekking poles so pack accordingly in a checked bag.)
From Pokhara, we did the Poon Hill trek with Third Rock and it was a great intro to trekking with incredible scenic views the entire way. Third Rock started us in Hile which avoided unnecessary trekking on the road from Nayapul. This trek allowed us to build our stamina and acclimatize at lower elevations before heading to the higher elevations of the Everest region. Our guide Rishi kept us motivated and took care of all the details, all we had to do was make it up the stairs!
After Poon Hill, we ventured to the rugged Everest region which was a nice contrast to the forests of the Annapurna region - I definitely recommend hitting both regions if you have time. Our Everest region guide, Gadul, was great and kept us entertained with stories and games, not to mention on pace to be able to enjoy the trek to the fullest. Since time was short, we opted to trek to Namche and then take the heli tour to Kala Patthar and it was one of the many highlights of the trip.
Third Rock arranged everything perfectly and was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. We were treated like family and felt very close to Naba and his team. I feel like we have family in Kathmandu and we could drop in anytime for conversation and a tasty meal (like the Mustang Aloo spicy potatoes at Oasis café). Thank you, Third Rock team!!

Fantastic experience from initial correspondence to the time we left Nepal. We would 100% recommend Third Rock to anyone considering a visit. Our family of five (children ages 11, 14,16) spent 15 days in Nepal, including a 7 day trek to Khopra Ridge (a quieter and newer route out of Pokhara with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri). We received helpful recommendations during the planning phase, were greeted with a warm welcome, consistently experienced smooth and friendly transitions, and received clear and timely communication with Naba and guides at all times. Hospitality from Naba and family was outstanding- they made us feel like part of the family for the duration of our visit. We were met with unseasonal snow and our trek was cut short a day due to trail closure at the summit. All changes were made seamlessly. Our guide, Shiva, made us feel safe and went above and beyond to provide information, education, encouragement and support throughout the trek. Porters Ram, Vishnu and Rosan were friendly and always ready to provide extra support.

Firstly, kudos to you for doing Khopra Ridge Trek with your family. You may not know, but very few trekkers do this trek. So there's no doubt that you loved the trek for many reasons.
Sorry to know that you had to go through an unexpected time while trekking. The weather is unpredictable in the mountain. The trail closure is usually unexpected. We hope Shiva arranged alternative that were best during that time.
Shiva is a highly experienced guide we have on our team. We are pretty sure he served the best to you. Other team members like Ram, Vishnu and Rosan are exceptionally good at their job. Just like you mentioned, they are ever ready to offer a helping hand at any time.

We were delighted to work with Third Rock Adventures for our November ‘22 Island Peak Adventure. From day one Naba focused on making this a memorable and safe experience for us. We were impressed how accommodating the team was to our bespoke requirements and ensured that all aspects of the trip go smoothly. Naba always kept us in the loop about itinerary developments and was incredibly responsive pre and throughout the trip to questions or as-hoc requests which was invaluable for first-time trekkers like us. And to our surprise wherever we went in Thamel or on the trek everyone have heard of Naba”s name! Naba was courteous, resourceful and has been an instrumental part in making our trip a success - cannot recommend enough!

I took a peak climbing tour to Mera Peak . It was truly a journey of a lifetime. The trekking was very professional and well organized. There was a high level of focus on safety with an itinerary that minimized the risk of high altitude sickness. The climbing team lead by Chhewang– was competent, very friendly, and helpful. The kitchen staff produced tasty and hygienic prepared food even under difficult conditions. I had a wonderful trip to Mera Peak with the most astonishing views of the beautiful surrounding mountains. I can highly recommend “Third Rock Adventures” for peak climbing in Nepal.

THIRD ROCK is incredible, and I couldn't more strongly recommend using them for any trekking adventure. They were incredibly competent, helpful, responsive, knowledgeable, safe and fun start to finish. It was so easy and helpful to discuss with them options and organizing just the right trip for us. They were both highly professional and as friendly as could be, welcoming us and sending us off to/from Katmandu, and in all transit within Nepal. And I am still amazed how easy and fun it was to trek to base camp with Shiva (guide) and Gopal (porter). Their professionalism, support, knowledge and companionship added so much to the natural beauty around us. Not only were they flawless in ensuring our safety and health and guiding us through the trek, they continuously added the color, information, and interesting history of the mountains and the culture we were passing through. And they were both courteous and totally fun. If you are looking for a safe, problem-free, flawless, and mind blowing trip within or around the Himalayas, you really must go with 3rd Rock.

Our trek was expertly managed by the team at Third Rock. All we had to do was enjoy the beautiful views and the friendly people. Naba frequently went above and beyond to arrange the details, even for the days we were on our own, and his expertise and passion were evident. Our guides, Rishi and Gadul, and the porters were very attentive and made the trip fun and comfortable for all. Communication was prompt and the pricing was very competitive offering great value with no surprises. We combined the Poon Hill trek in the Annapurna region with the Namche Heli-Trek in the Everest region, and the ground transportation and flights were perfectly arranged and the accommodations were excellent. Every attempt was made to assure our comfort and enjoyment.
There are many companies to choose from when booking a trekking package, and I am very happy we selected Third Rock. They are responsive, honest, and trustworthy and truly treat you like family. We made life-long friends with our Third Rock team, and I am already looking forward to my next adventure with them.

On my second visit to Nepal, I was thrilled to finally realize my dream of taking a helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp (EBC), after missing out on it during my last trip when I had trekked to Annapurna. The experience was nothing short of incredible, from the city tour of Kathmandu Valley on the first day to the entire heli tour of EBC and Kalapatar.
To make this trip happen, we needed to find a group joining trip for a total of five people, and Naba was helping us secure the arrangements. The company staff all incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. They had planned every aspect of the trip with thoughtful details that made it a truly unforgettable experience.
I highly recommend going on a trip with Third Rock company if you ever have the chance.

I did Langtang Valley Trek from 17th to 22nd March 2023. The trek was one of the best I have had and Third Rock Adventure (TRA) made it possible. My guide, Krishna, was excellent throughout the journey and took great care to ensure I have everything I need to be comfortable. Krishna is extremely knowledgeable and is basically like a wikipedia for Nepal. Even other guides and trekkers were listening to him whenever Krisha was sharing with me some of the local culture and traditions. Our porter - I call him, Mr Porter, Rissi, was also amazing. He is approachable and could move really fast with his Nike sneakers, even on snow.
I was fortunate enough to made it up Kyanjin Ri (lower peak) despite some heavy clouds when we trekked up. The view cleared up when we were up there and it was amazing. The next day, there was heavy snow. I can only say we were very lucky!
In my opinion, all of the views up to Kyanjin Gomba are spectacular. Even if you don’t make it up Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri due to bad weather, I think it is still going to be an amazing journey.
Finally. Pls do support the Nepal’s trekking/climbing business. Getting a guide for mountainous regions is compulsory from 1st April 2023. This is an excellent move and put safety as a top priority for all. Do not feel disgruntled - if you are. Having a guide will only enhance your trekking experience and importantly, significantly improve your chances of getting back home to see your family.

I met Shiva, the guide, while doing a solo track to Everest Base Camp. He was the guide of one guy also doing a solo track, but along the road 3 other guys joined and Shiva didn't mind them, and me, tagging along at all! He helped us all along the route and we became very good friends, he still checks up on us every so now and then! I really really recommend doing the track with Shiva, he is very chill, accommodating, friendly and a lot of fun as well! Hopefully I will be able to come back to Nepal soon :)

Booked from the UK, communication was clear and all my questions were answered promptly leading up to my arrival.
Chisapani - Nagarkot track is great for those with short time but still want to get a hike in as it takes you through a national park, past mountain villages and includes perfect sunrise spot accommodation along the way.
The service and food at the tea house and hotel were delicious.
My guide Rishi was happy, friendly, organised and knowledgeable along the hike.
As a solo female traveller, I highly recommend Third Rock as they provide a 5 star service from start to finish.

Hi i am going with a friend to Mera Peak. We are experienced climbers, we are looking for an agency that will organize a porter for a high camp and provide a tent in a high camp. I had a wonderful time in nepal this October becoz of Third Rock. They listen & cater our needs, very flexible and helpful in the 10days we spent there. Not only that they delivered their promises as in the program, they give us a good tour guide and porters for the trek that make us completely satisfied.
