Interesting story: Arjun, founder of Bharal Adventure is the guide who led my sister to safety during the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. My sis spoke of his calmness amidst chaos and good decision-making skills, and I know with 100% certainty that he can be counted on. So I emailed him to arrange for a trek in March 2020 and the replies come fast and polite, honest and informative.
Arriving, I met Arjun and he introduced me to Deepak, my trek guide. We enjoyed chai in their office, I said my gratitude, Deepak even brought me to Swayambunath (monkey temple) after. From Thamel to Pokhara, and onwards the 4D3N Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and back, it is a 6 days' itinerary. I was worried about having to speak too much, or nothing to speak with the guide. I soon realised that Arjun made a good arrangement.
With Deepak, we enjoyed nice conversations and beautiful length of silence where I can hear the birdsongs, tree rustlings, river flowing, the sounds of feet crunching on the ground. Our topics are lighthearted and meaningful - about family, nature, pointing out birds and the national flowers, discussing cultures, beliefs and dreams. I truly enjoyed his company.
Skills wise, I felt safe and supported throughout the trek. I struggled with the steps and when I tried to go as fast as other trekkers, Deepak assured me to go at my own leisure pace to avoid altitude sickness. Where there was unexpected snow, he saved my ass many times by catching me when I fall. Deepak is well experienced with the trek route. We always arrive at our next lodge with enough time to enjoy the village, despite the many breaks along the way (for a snack, for a photo, to marvel at nature).
I am glad for the decision to be on a guided trek. Simple things like having a guide to make sure dinner and breakfast are ordered in advance, so food is always on the table, not having to check the maps and so you'll get to fully enjoy the nature, and when the going gets tough, I am motivated by cheerful jokes and motivating nudges. Also, Deepak takes great photos!
To trekkers who are considering going guide-less, I recommend to hire a guide because (1) support the local tourism business, they survive on just a short season of tourism a year (2) you'll get to enjoy the country and her land with full presence and being. Also, upon returning, Arjun and Deepak made a little dinner party at the office and gave me a certificate too! How wonderful.
What a long review. From my heart I truly would recommend the Bharal Adventure to anyone who's visiting the mountains. They are honest Nepalis with a genuine love and respect for their country and the mountains. I'll be back. Dhanyabaad, Arjun and Deepak!

As Australians doing an overseas multi day trek for the first time we really had no idea where to start. We had a recommendation from a friend back home to use this company and just do the whole trip in one package opposed to doing ourselves.
So glad we did, we had outstanding service from Arjun who was very flexible with our choice of experiences. We went with a city tour of Kathmandu and Pokhara, two smaller treks (3-4days) for nagarkot and poon hill, an Everest flight and some shopping in between. They also organized travel, drivers, trekking permits and accommodation. Food was packaged in for the trekking days, and our guide would order for us which was very very helpful.
Special mention to Suraj, our very friendly and helpful guide, and Gokul the Ironman who carried our essentials all the way along the treks.
Looking back it would have been so hard to organize a porter and even harder to carry what we had. It also would have been very difficult and may have dampened our experience to have the stress of working out where to stay, how to get trekking permits, where and when to stop to rest or eat and in many cases which path to take! On the day coming down from poon hill there was very slippery ice and snow, suraj had to guide us down (and thankfully he came shopping with us for crampons and poles before we went!). The city guide (we forgot your name sorry!) was very knowledgeable and spoke immaculate English which meant we spent longer than expected on the day because we were just asking questions or chatting the whole time. We hope Bharal adventures and the staff continue to grow.
10/10 would recommend. Send me a private message if you have any more questions.

My partner and I just completed our first trekking holiday in Nepal with Bharal Adventure Company. Would highly recommend!
We completed two treks; a 3 day stint through Sundarijal, Chispani to Nagarkot outside of Kathmandu. Then a 4 day trek out of Pokhara from Nayapool, Hille, Ullei, to Ghorepani then up to Poon Hill (Amazing view!) and back, the returned via Tadaoani to Nayapool. We also managed site-seeing and shopping in both Kathmandu and Pokhara!
I have to say, the staff of Bharal Adventures made the treks so much easier, taking all the hassle out of the holiday so we could just enjoy ourselves. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and were very flexible with the itinerary and made sure we were prepared for the conditions on the different treks.
I could not recommend Bharal Adventure more, with yours set at all different levels, I would especially recommend them for people new to Nepal or multi-day trekking. (Though they have next level treks and climbs for the seasoned adventurer as well)
A special thanks to the company manager Arjun, our Mountain Guide Suraj and Porter Gokul.

This was our first trekking in Nepal ( usually it would be India )but we wanted to explore the Himalayas in Nepal, well it can't be better than this.
Mr Suraj (Nepal local guide) was very good in all the ways be it arranging the cabs (pick-up / drop),hotels ,planning the stay in the Tea Houses way ahead of time etc.
He made sure the everyone on the trek is enjoying the Himalayas .
I would recommend Mr Suraj as local guide to anyone who wants to explore the Himalayas in Nepal .
Very professional ( Bharal Adventure ) know what they are good at.
Planning to catch up with him for EBC.

Bharal Adventure can always be recommended, if only because the guides and porters are incredibly nice. The Helambu Trek is much easier to reach from Kathmandu than e.g. the Annapurna and Everest regions, and has a very beautiful landscape. With the Climate Trek set up by Atmosfair the region is also trendsetting in terms of sustainability. Anyone who has known Nepal for several years will agree that the country's ecological problems have increased again massively, and mass tourism plays a major role in this. In this respect, this trek is highly recommended; The main focus is that all lodges are equipped with solar electricity. The guides Arjun and Bikram and the Porter Gokul and Vihnud were extremely friendly, funny and helpful and so we were able to enjoy the varied landscape. February was perhaps a bit early for these heights due to the cold, but otherwise it was great!

I went to the Annapurna circuit trek with my friends recently, I must say what a wonderful experience I had and probably the best Nepal trek I have done out of the 5 treks I have done before. Everything was handled with care, whether it's the selection of tea houses or providing delicious food at the height of 5000 m which is not all easy to provide, so Kudos to Bharal adventures.
Lastly a special mention for Arjun dai for guiding us well throughout the trek, during the pass (Thorong La 5416 M) ascent he motivated us a lot so that we feel less difficult.
Thank you Bharal adventures.

What an incredible experience! Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal with Bharal Adventure was everything I hoped for. Special thanx to Mr Arjun Dhakal for quickly organizing and letting me join he's group to EBC. The sunrise view from Kala Patthar was spectacular and seeing MT Everest and Base Camp up-close was worth the trek! I'll be back for more....
