Our hostel (Elbrus Home) put us in contact with Heian Treks. We got into kathmandu with out any plans for trekking and booked to do the Manaslu Circuit the next days. Permits were organised very quickly and with out any hassle then we were off!
Our guide Gambu Sherpa was amazing and we consider ourselves very lucky to have met him as he made us welcome and comfortable, helped us with anything we needed, from renting sleeping bags to busses and explaining the menu!
Everything was well organised, the itinerary (which we had to change day 3, but still went smoothly), transport (even let us get back a day early) and accommodation.
Overall, the trek couldnt of gone better and I could ask for any more from the entire experience. Definitely going to book another trek through Heian next time were in nepal.

My husband and I enjoyed an incredible 12 day trek on the Manaslu Circuit. We were staying at Elbrus Home and put in touch with the tour agency by the manager the morning after our arrival. We hadn’t booked anything before landing in Kathmandu and Heian Treks swiftly arranged all our permits, guide and porter within a few hours. They are a professional and highly organised outfit so you can feel confident in your choice.

Our guide Gopal was superb. He was entertaining, great company, speaks amazing English but more importantly really looked after us. We appreciated this extra level of care considering we hadn’t trekked at these sorts of altitudes before. His positive spirit and amiable personality really spurred us on especially when the temperature dropped and when we made the tiring journey over the high pass.

Our porter Bijay was an absolute star and we couldn’t have done it without him. He was great company and works tirelessly. Every day he made it to our end point before our arrival to bag us the best room at the guest house!

I can’t recommend the Manaslu Circuit enough. Compared to the Annapurna, it is much more remote and less busy - although you will still get to socialise with other travellers along the route and in the evenings. As there’s less people, there’s a really sense of comradeship along the way! The scenery is simply breathtaking and you also get the thrill of a high pass towards the end. We trekked in early October and it was blue skies and snowy mountains every day. Some of the accommodation is very basic but this is all part of the experience of trekking in such a remote place.

If we did it again, I would personally try and get a private jeep to the start point if you have the budget. We took the public bus there and it is slow, stuffy and dusty! They can also get very overcrowded. We took a private jeep then car back to Kathmandu which was much quicker and more comfortable.

All in all, an unforgettable trip and after hearing what other travellers paid, fairly priced.

Prem (trekking company owner) and Hari (our mountain guide) were great! We found them through our hotel, and am glad we did, because we never would have found the place otherwise (4th floor, a bit hidden away). However, we were really glad we stayed away from all the flamboyant storefronts selling treks in Thamel (everyone wants to sell you a trek) and went with Heian treks- the pricing was much more reasonable than some of the tourist packages- and everyone gets the same tea house accommodation, food, etc. while on the EBC trek anyways. The key difference in the experience is the guide- Hari was an amazing guide for us with >20 years of experience, starting from a porter. He is enthusiastic, funny, caring, and definitely the person to go with on your trek.

We made an incredible trip with our really smart and valid guide LB rai,
We have seen many villages, fields, hills, jungle and glaciers till the incredible place of the Annapurna Base Camp.
The path is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, and we’ve been very lucky to be guided by LB, the most capable and sweet guide ever known. I suggest you all to book this trip with him.

Most of us have a bucket list. Things we would like to do once in our live.
The world is such a big place and sometimes it hard to make a choice.
One thing for me however was seeing and feeling the top of the world : Himalaya, Mount Everest.
Climbing to base camp was an option but would we wanted also feel Nepal. Being between the people, seeing the nature,
The trip offered by Heian was good mix.
We saw the Himalaya, we climbed a top, we lived between the people, we saw the nature and felt Nepal.
My personal highlight was a visit to a boedist monastery. We had the opportunity to join a ceremony which really made me feel elevated. Never before I had such a spiritual experience. Incredible!!

We recommend Gopal as a guide, we had a great experience with him in the mountains! The Total package trekking was good, but only hiring a guide is enough.

I had been to Nepal half a dozen times since more than 10 years ago. In all those years, I had engaged Heian Treks. It's always easy to rate the travel agency highly when things go right. But the real test of an agency is when things go wrong. Thankfully in all cases when things did go wrong (no fault of the trekking agency), Heian Treks had always delivered. I had one case where a team member suffered from severe mountain sickness and needed to be flown back from Dingbouche to Kathmandu by helicopter. Heian Treks assisted him to ensure he was safely sent back to Kathmandu. There's another time when we got stuck in the middle of the road because of some serious political riots at Kathmandu. Heian Treks were able to make special transportation arrangement to ensure we were sent to our hotel room safely. These instances showed that Heian Treks is a dependable agency that can be relied on when things go wrong - and in the mountain where the air is thin, things tend to go bad unexpectedly.

Had a nice 10 day trek to Annapurna Sanctuary, great views and great, knowledgeable guide and porter service. The trek was overall moderately challenging, there were a lot of steps and tea house accommodations were as expected. Would recommend this trekking company as they are locally owned and operated and took care of all my needs on the trip.

We had an amazing 10 day trek with Tek as our guide. We were well looked after from beginning to end and our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. He was able to be flexible and accommodating to our needs/wants whilst still keeping the trip safe. Tek provided us with information on the history of Nepal and trekking regions. The food options along the trek were delicious and we were booked into private rooms for the entire trek ahead of time. Tek was also very knowledgable about ceoliac disease and dietry requirments and we never went hungry! The distances covered each day were reasonable, although challenging in parts, we never felt exhausted at the end of the day and well within our capabilities and it was my first time on a multi-day trek so this was a big positive for me. Looking forward to returning and booking through Heian Treks for our next adventure in the coming years!
