we traveled over two hours from Kansas City to visit this site and it was quite disappointing. It badly needs renovating, new lighting, more emphasis on Eisenhower and less on WWII. Exhibits are hard to read because they are not well lit and are physically difficult to access. His family home was most worthwhile but in general, this is a... More

The Dwight D Eisenhower presidential memorial library and grounds is hands-down one of the prettiest I've ever been to. It includes a chapel with his grave, library, presidential library, Memorial, statue, George and his childhood home. I recommend going late in the evening as things are beginning to closedown and the crowds have subsided.

This was an interesting afternoon. The homestead only allows downstairs viewing to preserve the historical accuracy. The docent did a great job describing the life and times of the family. The movie in the library was in the mode of 50s documentaries. There were interesting tidbits mixed in with the more usual historical details. The traveling display of WWII was... More

We did not have all the time we needed to completely cover this museum and library as we were traveling. First we enjoyed the boyhood home of Eisenhower. The guide was very informative and helped us understand much about his family and how people lived at that period of time. The 20 minute intro video in the library is the... More

As this was our sixth presidential library I think it's safe to say we know what's good and what's not. I was born while Eisenhower was president. Didn't know much about him. And now I do. And this museum rates a 5 on scale of 10 for us. As we have visited recently Normandy, France and the New Orleans WWII... More

We spent an entire day, toured the home, visited the Library and the museum, learned so much about the WW II and post war era. Wife loved to view Mrs. Eisenhower's dresses and gowns. The visit was well worth the trip.

Having visited a number of presidential libraries this one was a surprise. Quiet and peaceful grounds, the family home is worth the 20 minute tour and the museum (while perhaps overly focused on WWII) was well laid out and very interesting.

If you are a history buff or want to drive to the middle of nowhere in order to spend a few hours looking at perhaps the most boring exhibits since the middle of the 20th century, then this place is for you. If not, then this place is not a necessary stop if you happen to be traveling through Kansas.... More

Number 7 and we've yet to be disappointed!! The information at this library is displayed exceptionally well. Don't forget to tour the house...its not a long visit but well worth it.
