Stopped here after visiting the Eisenhower Museum as they are very close to each other. I spent about an hour here and found it to be interesting. There were two greyhounds who were "greeters" when I arrived. You'll need about 45 minutes to an hour to visit this place. They operate on donations only.

Learned a lot and got to take pictures with the greyhound Ginger who greets you at the door. Admission is free so it's a good time filler (we were waiting for our train ride which is next door) and they take donations.

While I love dogs, I've never considered myself particularly interested in greyhounds or greyhound racing specifically. We stopped in Abilene on our way to Colorado and spotted this, and thought, "Why not?" I'm glad we stopped! It was really informative, and nicely done. It's free, so no worries about cost. They accept donations to help with operating costs (and they... More

This stop was informative with information on dog racing, as well as info on the animals themselves. Also they have [what is their namesake] a Hall of Fame. You are greeted by ambassadors, Gary & Ginger [retired Greyhounds].

This was an unexpected stop. What a pleasant surprise. This informative well managed museum explaining the history of Greyhounds is worth a stop. Of course, the greyhound ambassadors were sweet and gentle.

The 10 minute video provides some great history and background on greyhound racing. Worth a trip just to love on a couple of really kewl greyhounds. Added plus, there is not admission price, they have a place for donations.

I'm not a fan of dog racing, but the retired greyhound that is a greeter was very sweet and happy to see us. It was amazing to me all the places that have races and the trophies.

The little ones might get a bit bored, though the 2 retired greyhounds (ambassadors) are sweet and gentle, seeking love from anyone, any size. We found this museum very informative, even for people who don't have a clue about dog racing. The atmosphere is quiet, cool (a great respite from the heat), FREE -donation box- and well presented. Wasn't sure what to expect out of this. If you at least like dogs it's worth the stop. We were greeted by the 2 resident greyhounds. Lots of good info. Good for 45 minutes to an hour.

A must-stop museum for any dog lover! It's not very big, but it's a very informative little place for people who have an interest in racing or just dogs in general. If you're lucky, you might get to meet some of the resident greyhounds!
