Great market
Nov 2019 • Family
Clean and neatly laid out market that sells fresh produce like vegetables and fruits; dried meats; homemade honey, cheese and butter; different sorts of grains; incense powders; etc. There are also shops around it selling sundry goods and clothing and bags. Very nice place to immerse in the local way of life. Definitely worth a visit!

One place to see produces of Bhutan
Nov 2019 • Couples
Though it’s like any other wholesale market place for fruits & vegetables but visitors can get a consolidated glimpse of what variet of produce are available in Bhutan. It is claimed that everything produced in Bhutan is Organic.
If you want to buy something, you need to be cautious as prices are higher for tourists - you will need to haggle.

Always worth visiting a local market
Nov 2019 • Solo
It’s always worth visiting a local food market to get an idea of the food culture of a place. Fabulous selection of fresh vegetables especially the local grown famous red and green chillis in every form (fresh, dried, powder, sauces). Definitely worth a 30 minute walk round if you visit Thimphu.

Lots of photo opportunities and beautiful produce
Oct 2018
A friend who has traveled to over 100 countries said that she had never seen such a clean farmer’s market in all of her travels. There was a wide variety of produce, spices and photo opportunities as the locals sell their products.

Markets are always facinating places
May 2019 • Friends
Always an interesting place to visit if you want to see a slice of local life in Bhutan. A vast market selling a huge range of food products primarily. If the stall owners speak English, they are happy to tell you what they are selling and where it comes from. A great place to people watch and look for things you have never seen before. Just over the road is a really cool wooden covered bridge that is well worth a look as well.

Worth skiping
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is a local market for all the essentials. If you are looking for something specific to take back home then only I would suggest to visit else it is quite standard and not so interesting. It is also closed on some days weekly so that is also a constraint.

Lovely farmers market
Mar 2019 • Couples
We took a detour to visit this place as we always like to try to see the linkage between the city and the countryside. It is a beautifully clean market with mainly locally produced vegetables etc. It would be great if we had more like in the UK, but unfortunately supermarkets now dominate our food supply

A huge farm market
Oct 2018 • Couples
A lot of stalls with veggies, fruits, meats, spices etc. Opportunity to take interesting pictures of food and people but nothing more (unless you are actually shopping). You can skip.
