I think you'll want to have a tour guide for many of these places because knowing about the time periods and rulers when these places were built is important to understanding why Bhutan is the country it is today.

It was a wonderful visit to the National Memorial Chorten with a group of six young tourists. There was a long-Life ceremony presided by Lam Namkhai Ningpo Rinpoche (Ningma master).

Very active chorten attracting many locals for their daily prayers. The relatively new Chorten is constructed in the traditional architectural style as required.

Make sure you come here at night when it lights up and is amazing to view!! You will not regret it, there is a hotel on the hill where you can buy a drink and watch it

I think it is open all days unless there is some visit by vips. Thimpu is a small city , this particular monument can be seen without any planning.

Weather is rainy intermittently but it doesn't rain that heavily. You can do your journey with motorbike ride with all the gears like rain-coat etc. You can get your Permit made in Thimphu from its Immigration Dept. (works... More
