Our first trip to Bhutan had been nothing less than an awesome experience. Warmly welcomed by the assigned guide Tshering Norbu, and driver Sampa, they partnered well and took real good care of my family throughout. Kind, attentive and always on the lookout for us during the trip was heartening. Norbu exercised flexibility in the itinerary, tweaked to better accomodate our speed and energy levels at different times. These made our experience extra pleasant. Special mention to Norbu to accomodate my younger son's frequent requests to play soccer when each day ended. A reason why both built a close relationship. We truly felt as if Norbu and Sampa are members of our own family at the end of trip such that we parted ways clearly emotionally on the morning of the departure. Will highly recommend Bhutan Travelers as well as Norbu and Sampa to take care of your intinerary.

We just completed our 5-nights-6-days tour through Bhutan with the customary stops. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Pema, our guide, and Nima, our driver. Both young men were wonderful. Knowledgeable, polite, punctual, and had a good sense of humor. Many linguistic misunderstandings lead to healthy laughter and a pleasant time. My German accent, my husband´s New York accent, mixed with Bhutan-accent.. it was great. We enjoyed learning a lot about Bhutan Buddhism and the history of the country. Everything was great, except the cold insides of the hotels and restaurants. Since heating is not ubiquious and only done with some electric heaters, we were forced to keep our ski jackets on inside and felt frozen at times. It might be better to travel in the spring or fall, we are told. Other than that, it was a great experience and we wish to thank Karma, the agency owner, for responding to our many pre-trip questions and we want to thank Pema and Nima for making our 5 days with them so comfortable and fun. Learning does not have to be dead serious!

We did a 6 day/5 night trip with Bhutan Travelers. The booking agent was quick to respond and very helpful. Our guide, Rinzin, and driver, Gelle, were also excellent and very professional throughout the trip. They eagerly shared their knowledge about the sites, as well as insights into the spirituality and customs of Bhutan. The itinerary was very well planned and not too packed, allowing us to see important sites without feeling rushed. Bhutan Travelers also provided a very comfortable car and excellent accommodations with all meals included. Despite there being a required daily cost for tourism to Bhutan, the cost is worthwhile for everything to be included. This was a wonderful trip and I highly recommend travelling there with Bhutan Travelers!

My wife and I recently visited Bhutan for an eight day cultural tour followed by a six day trek. I don’t ordinarily write reviews, but our experience with Bhutan Travelers was deeply gratifying and inspiring.
Both of us felt consistently attended to in a variety of ways, and our needs were always considered. I had not done much research about Bhutan Travelers, but a good friend gave the company a glowing recommendation and he suggested that we request Karma Tashi as our guide. Although all of the guides have excellent reputations, Karma is the company founder and most experienced. Fortunately he was available, and was waiting at the airport upon our arrival.
His warmth, wit and capabilities were immediately apparent. We didn’t really know what to expect in terms of pacing(our itinerary was written out), but what we found was that Karma had arranged a variety of activities and places to visit that were fascinating. We also had time to rest as needed and the accommodations were extremely comfortable. We were able to meet many locals and have interesting interactions quite off the beaten track. Karma is an expert in local history and was always willing to engage in conversation about his beloved country and culture. We never felt overwhelmed by the amount of information or cultural stories that were shared with us.
There was always another interesting place to visit or eat at if we so desired. Also, Karma and our driver were simply fun to be with.
At the end of the cultural part of our tour, we felt satiated with the wonders of Bhutanese religion, architecture, arts and cuisine.
Although nervous, we were ready for our trek. Karma introduced us to our chef, assistant and two horsemen.
It became quickly apparent how capable and warm the rest of the staff were. They were obviously committed to doing everything they could to support us and have our wilderness experience be as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible.
Their English was not as clear as Karma’s, but their warmth, caring and professionalism was palpable.
Treks are demanding (at least for us) and we were encouraged every step of the way. The beauty that we experienced on this part of our adventure was unforgettable. We always felt safe and safeguarded by the staff.
Bhutan was an amazing place to visit and we will always feel grateful to Karma and the staff at Bhutan Travelers for their generosity of spirit and kindness. I highly, highly recommend this company and these dedicated people for your journey to Bhutan.

Our Laya-Gasa Trek was remarkable. The area is beautiful. Our guides were fantastic and the people were amazing. Highlights of our trip included crossing the big passes, tremendous mountain views, seeing blue sheep and himalayan Griffon vultures, the amazing food, and visiting some very remote schools.

Myself and two friends completed the Jomolhari trek with Bhutan Travelers. It was my first time traveling like this - with a guide and everything planned. At first I was like.. is this really how this works I just wire money to this company I found on the internet and it will all worked out? Anyways, it did work out! Overall we had an amazing experience - post hike afternoons in our tent with snacks and hot tea delivered to our door, hot water bottles for cold nights, mid morning hike breaks with juice boxes. Overall I would say this felt like a no frills experience that still had every detail taken care of. It was really refreshing to just spend a lot of time with only each other to entertain each other! We read books, journaled, talked a lot and played imagination games hah. As someone who usually travels in a bit more unstructured way, it felt nice to do something like this where everything was taken care of, and in Bhutan you really are contributing to the local economy with the fees that you pay.

A few random tips: don't rely on ATMs to work in Bhutan (they don't have the ability to handle chip cards yet w/ their atms) - bring cash! Make sure you bring enough warm clothes for sleeping (I slept in like three jackets and sleeping bag and was still slightly cold in early March!). Our group were all runners and mostly hiked in trail running shoes and that was totally fine! During the day we wore loose light pants and a technical long sleeve, carrying puffy jackets and waterproof layers in our daypacks - that was perfect. Also Bhutan Travelers can watch items for you if you don't want to bring on your hike with you - I would not recommend leaving behind valuables as we did have some items turn up missing (although I do not fault the travel company for this). Also we used one phone to take pictures and it lasted pretty much the whole week on airplane mode and turned off at night. That said, there were a few campsites with electrical outlets along the way so you have that!

Had one of the best travel experiences of our lives in September, organized through Bhutan Travelers. Everything taken care of seamlessly through our guide Chencho who with his vast experience and knowledge of all things related to Bhutan, left us with vivid memories. Lots of fun on the trek, meeting fascinating local people, experiencing their wonderful hospitality and everything the country has to offer. Captivating, beautiful landscapes. A true travel adventure!

I did a cultural tour by myself but did not feel so alone due to the guide Norbu and driver Leekdeen are very friendly and entertaining. Though they are also professional, they know what they are doing. Norbu has a special talent in making history sounds not so boring and fun, eventhough I have a bad memory but I still learn something. They went above and beyond to take care of their guests. They are fun. I highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Bhutan to check out Bhutan travelers and esp Norbu as a guide and Leekdeen as your driver. Eventhough u r by yourself, you will never feel alone, also safe and you will be in good hands
