We have just finished our 6-day trip organised by Bhutanitis Travels and we had a wonderful time in Bhutan! From the first day we approached Shiva from Bhutanitis Travels, all our inquiries and questions were being handled swiftly. He helped us with the application for visa, hotel and flight booking as well as the itinerary prior to our trip and had always kept us updated for all the arrangement. Our guide Pema and driver Dorji were very friendly and considerate! They took great care of us all the six days and we had nothing to worry about. They also catered for our preference in food and places to visit. They filled our trip with fun and relaxing moments that we enjoyed a lot! We highly recommend Bhutanitis Travels for anyone traveling to Bhutan and we will certainly choose them when we visit Bhutan again.

Bhutanitis Travels took great care of us from the first contact. They were in fact the fastest to respond to my inquiries and answered all of my questions immediately. I took my 27 year old son with me (he lives in Thailand) and I am 67. Most of my questions had to do with if the time of year, January 2-6th 2019, would be pleasant enough to make the trek to Tiger Nest and enjoy the rest of the sites. We were so pleasantly surprised! Yes, it was cold, but beautiful blue skies and warm enough during the day with a light jacket. We put ourselves in Bhutanitis's hands, they planned our 5 day itinerary and we couldn't have been more pleased. We had 2 full days seeing the sites of Thimphu and the surrounding area, including great views of the Himalayas. Our guide was fantastic, Sajan speaks beautiful English and knows so much about his beloved country and the history. He is also an excellent photographer using our I Phone and has great knowledge of birds and wildlife. Our driver Bhim was also perfect, a careful driver as well as being an expert Archer, the national sport. The owner of Bhutanitis even came to our hotel and introduced himself . . . they were all very professional. We upgraded out trip to 4 star hotels and were so impressed. The hotels they had us in both in Thimphu and Paro were beyond our expectations. We could even see Tiger Nest from out room in Paro! Now for the crown jewel, Tiger Nest. Our guide suggested we take the horses up part way, and I am glad we did for my sake. After about an hour on the trail we got off the horses and walked the rest of the hour and a half to Tiger Nest. The trail is pretty good, up and down, dirt and stairs, with views at every bend of the fabulous temple complex. We started in the morning around 7:30 with gloves, hats and jackets. By the time we reached Tiger Nest, we had discarded most. At 10,000 feet in January, it was very pleasant and the bluest of skies. Going down, we didn't have the horses as a back up, so had to walk the whole way ( about 2.5 hours), we stopped halfway at the restaurant for lunch which helped. Our guide was very patient with me making lots of rest stops. All in all, we saw so much of Bhutan with only 3 full days. Bhutanitis planned the perfect itinerary for us and we left feeling like we knew this magical country. I would highly recommend this company.

Out of all the Bhutanese agencies I contacted prior to my trip to Bhutan, Bhutanitis Travel was the friendliest and most helpful. They responded thoroughly to my many questions and provided me with detailed information regarding tours to Bhutan. Once there, both, the guide and the driver were great. They were not only highly professional, but also a lot of fun to talk to, as well as very well informed to answer anything about Bhutan´s present and past. The activities organized by Bhutanitis were varied and fun. Bhutan is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED destination and if I ever go back, I´d definitely contact Bhutanitis Travel once again.

Me along with my wife visited Bhutan in September 2017 for our honeymoon. We had a road trip via the southern border, Phuntsholing and Bhutanitis Travel helped us have the most amazing time and created a once in a life time vacation for us. We visited Thimphu and Paro only, give that we had very little time, and these two places took my breath away. The Bhutanese People are very friendly and the environment is so pristine and natural, no wonder it’s a carbon negative country. The city is so clean with no sign of litters on the street. The Owner of the Agency the a College Mate of my wife and a good friend of mine, she accompanied us throughout the Thimphu City tour and had lunch together. I would like to visit Bhutan again; we were unaware that a tiny Himalayan kingdom like Bhutan had so much to offer to their tourists. It truly is the Land Shangri-La on earth.

First off, let me highly recommend Bhutanitis Travel. To get into the country you have to pay for a Visa, a tour guide, and a daily tax. This payment must be made to the Bhutan government before your trip. You can’t even board the plane without the Visa. So when the travel agency asked for the money to be transferred into an account ahead of time, of course, we were a little apprehensive. After researching Bhutanitis Travel online, and seeing the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to give it a shot. And everything was just fine. And once we got to Bhutan, the owners of the company actually met us for dinner one night. They are a really nice, intelligent, young couple from Bhutan. On to the tour. Our guide and his driver met us at the airport and took us to our hotel. After a short break, we spent the rest of the day touring the area. Our guide’s name was Sajan, and our Drivers name was Pemba. And let me tell you this, I would highly recommend trying to get them as your guide and driver if you can. Sajan was an EXCEPTIONAL guide!!! While I’m sure other guides are good to, we could tell from seeing the other tourists and their guides, that Sajan was special. He was constantly engaging us with his knowledge of the land and it’s rich cultural history. He is such a wonderful person, and has so much experience as a guide, which led to many great stories of his treks. And Pema drove very well and made us feel safe. There are a lot of sights to see in Bhutan, but one of the highlights is Tigers Nest. It is one of the most incredible sights you can see. It’s about a 2 - 3 hour hike up to the Temple, and it’s at about 10,000 feet above Sea Level. So it’s not an easy hike, but it is so worth it. It’s not extremely steep or anything, but it can be a little rough here or there. There were older people that made it all that way to the top, so it can be done by most people, unless you may have any major health concerns. But again, it is a once in a lifetime experience. Literally, For many people, it is a life’s dream to go there, so if you go to Bhutan, prepare yourself to go. On our way down the mountain, an older woman from another party became severely exhausted. So our guide asked us if we minded if he helped her. Of course we said yes, and knew that we would be fine getting down ourselves because there are plenty of people people on the trail. So he literally put this women on his back and began carrying her down the mountain. He actually carried this woman, who did not look light, down the mountain faster than I could go by myself!! I literally couldn’t keep up with him. It was incredible to watch him go. This goes to show what hiking this mountain hundreds of times has done for him. In conclusion, If you are thinking about going to Bhutan, do it! It’s not cheap necessarily, but it’s worth it. There are so many things I could say about what we learned about Bhutan that I don’t have the time or space to write here. My only advice is if you have issues with sleeping on uncomfortable beds, or prefer the finer accommodations then upgrade to a 4or 5 star hotel. Out first night was at a 3 Star hotel, and it was not comfortable, it was noisy outside, and with no air conditioning mosquitos got in through the open window. And also, if you are going to do Tigers Nest, make sure your hotel has a pool or hot tub. It felt SO GOOD after the hike, and made our recovery much better.
