We enjoyed our 7 day trip to Bhutan and were extremely well looked after by Tashi (our guide) and Kandu (our excellent and very safe driver). Both were very knowledgeable and great fun and introducing us to the many facets of Bhutanese life. High points were the Bumdrak Trek - the feeling of breathlessness, camping at -12deg C in the snow and the spectacular views descending to the Tiger's Nest - and the black necked cranes of the Phobjikha Valley. The flexibility in planning was much appreciated, with Tashi adapting the programme to suit as we went along. Hotels were generally good, with the smaller Dewachen Resort being our favourite in preference to the larger, more touristy hotels (Tara Phendelying in Thimphu was particularly disappointing and did not give a good impression as a first night stay .... it should be changed for future itineraries).

There is a good chance that Bhutan can connect with China lialong and Nepal via the existing river and lakes. It would be a very wise move if the river water transportation can develop connected with China. it benefits Bhutan and all Bhutanes in everyway. God bless.

Our 9 day adventure in Bhutan with our tour guide Tshering and driver Sangay from Bhutan Best Travel was everything we wanted from our travels around Bhutan. It would have been nice if we would have stayed 1 night in a homestay but even without that, the trip was perfect. Thank you to the whole team.

Cannot recommend Bhutan Travel enough. Our guide - Tashi and driver - Khando were incredible - nothing was too much trouble - including helping my wife up and down difficult (for us) treks. Everything was included - all meals, all entry fees just everything. The car was always kept immaculately clean by our driver. As far as Bhutan itself is concerned - a real treat - The country and its people were very very welcoming. We are already considering returning to Bhutan next year and if we do we will certainly use Bhutan Best Travel again and we will also ask for the same guide and driver. Thankyou Bhutan Best Travel for a job well done.

Bhutan is truly beautiful, with lots of picturesque scenery, as if straight out of a fairytale. It is a photographer's paradise, and I was able to visit 4 different parts of this kingdom: Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha and Paro. My personal favourites were the Dochula Pass, where you can catch a glimpse of the Himalayas, the Punakha dzong- the most beautiful one in Bhutan- and rafting down a river. The itinerary was clearly well-planned, with the guides taking us up and down the mountains to experience different altitudes, before finally allowing us to attempt the hike to the Tiger's Nest, which is about 3000ft straight up. The hotels were chosen well too, and the guides never failed to give us a heads-up on what to expect at each accommodation and attraction. My family was vegetarian, but the meal places we ate at all offered delicious vegetarian options, and we even got to enjoy a picnic in the mountains. As such, we never got bored as the itinerary always provided interesting new experiences for us, allowing us to hit the streets, climb the mountains and visit the countryside all within a week. Other first-time events that come to mind is a dinner at a village homestay, where you get to try a hot-stone bath, and dressing up in the Bhutanese gho and kira at the Dochula Pass. Coming from a city, visiting a cultural and tradition-rich country like Bhutan was eye-opening for me. Horses brushed right past me, and yaks freely roamed the fields. There were also many stray dogs and cats that frequented the streets, but they were all extremely docile. Throughout the course of the trip, we visited many temples and dzongs, which were accompanied by detailed explanations and fascinating stories from our guide, Phuntsho Wangdi. As for the famous Tiger's Nest Monastery, the hike up was a bit strenuous but the view of the temple is worth it. However, once inside, unless you are Buddhist or interested in the religion, the many temples and dzongs can get repetitive as they mostly centre around the same religious figures. Still, the elaborate architecture of the temples and the tales behind them make it a worthwhile visit. Finally, the guides were extremely kind and attentive. They offered to carry our bags when they saw that we were struggling, and checked on us every once in a while to ensure that we were all right. They were also well-prepared for each journey we made, and constantly reminded us to give them a call if we needed help. When we wanted to visit other locations (that were not in the itinerary), they were very accommodating and fit them in our schedule. When my sibling suffered from motion sickness, our guide offered to give up his front seat, and helped him back to the van to rest. I would like to thank our guides, Phuntsho Wangdi and Phuntsho Tashi, for making us feel as comfortable as possible on this trip. Thank you to Bhutan Best Travel as well for arranging this amazing itinerary and allowing us to appreciate this fascinating country. I am very grateful to you all for making this trip memorable.
