We have just finished our 10 days trip around Uganda with Gorilla Tours. It has been such a wonderful experience, we fell in love with the country, its people, nature and landscapes.
We have been dreaming about the trip for several years and finally we found ourselves in the heart of Africa. We got in direct contact and used Gorilla Tours. The services provided by them were excellent! Perfect communication and organisation of the trip with Rose, we got immediate reply or solution to every single request. The accommodation is great, the food is delicious, the trip organisation including permits (and covid tests) has been only smooth. Rose is a lovely person.
We felt in Uganda very safe all the time. As tourists, we have been welcomed everywhere, all the people have been polite, smiling and friendly, in the lodges, in the parks as well on the street.
The feelings in Uganda are intense, you are so close to the nature, all around is green, you smell the different flavours of trees, fruits, flowers…. You can listen to birds, see monkeys on the trees, during the night you can hear hippos or a hyena.
The trip has been active, we were in the Murschison and Queen Elisabeth Parks on safari game drives and boat games, we have seen an abundance of animals (elephants, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, lions). We have been at Kibale tracing the beautiful chimpanzees and other primates. And of course, as a top, at Bwindi we got into the rain forest to trace the gorillas. Spending time with these wonderful creatures, so peaceful and playful is a lifetime experience. It is our duty to protect these treasures of our planet!
During the 10 days, we had our guide/driver and new FRIEND Wilson! He is GREAT, professional, knowledgeable, organised, passionate for his work and funny! He has been driving safely, introducing us into Uganda life, spotting animals, explaining, paying attention to our needs and wishes. Thanks to Wilson our stay has been perfect and fitting to what has been organised. It could not have been better!
We can only recommend to everyone to visit Uganda, we can more than recommend Gorilla Tours, it is a reliable and very professional tour operator. Thank you Uganda, Gorilla Tours, Rose and Wilson! We love you!

On our 12 days Uganda Utimate Safari we discovered the Pearl of Africa at its best. Ali Ssenkungu as a driver guide made this trip to a unique personalized experienced. Being a group of five Travellers he tried to meet all the interests of the various group members and did it in an exceptional way. Besides our highly qualified driver guide, we stayed in really nice accommodations (I can recommend the Comfortable Tour accommodations). Last but not least coming to Uganda itself.
The nickname Pearl of Africa is absolutely justified as it has such a diversity of nature and is blessed with water and thereby much green!

We booked our Uganda holiday with Gorilla Tours and our expectations were by far exceeded! We truly enjoyed our 18-day trip!
In advance the communication with Gorilla Tours was very easy and reliable. Our wishes for the route were flexibly met and good, individual suggestions by Gorilla Tours staff were given to us.
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, our guide and driver Moses "Moussa the Big" waited for us. To shortly wrap it up. He was our best guide ever! A very skilled guide and Uganda expert, excellent driver and very friendly, pleasant and attentive companion. Moses always took care of our requests and did his very best to give us the best Uganda experience possible. In addition, Moses has been working as a Uganda guide for roughly 18 years, making him very well known all around, which often proofed of great advantage!
We mostly stayed at the Gorilla Tours Nature Lodges which are highly recommendable! They score with excellent locations, easy and friendly atmosphere and a very good price-quality ratio. The food is good, the rooms are clean and spacious enough and offer a great nature experience.
Uganda has an unbelievably beautiful nature, stunning wildlife, friendly people and Moses made our stay an unforgettable one! Thank you Moses and thank you Uganda for a lifetime experience!

At the turn of June and July, our family had a unique opportunity to spend almost two weeks travelling around Ugandan national parks. Thanks to Gorilla Tours team and especially to our driver/guide Ronnie, we enjoyed plenty of wild animals, charming nature, kind and smiling people, highly professional local guides and rangers and unforgettable adventures.
Except being an excellent driver and knowledgeable guide, Ronnie is also:
calm – he solves every single difficulty with a certainty and a cool head
creative – he always adjusted the activities according to current situation and our needs
conscientious – the car was perfectly tidy every morning; frankly we were the dirtiest items there
experienced – he understands both humans and animals
protective – all the time we felt fully safe, not only regarding covid
reliable – all his recommendations are reasonable and good to follow
… and last but not least, he can even speak hyenas´ language!
Except being an excellent driver and knowledgeable guide, Ronnie is also:

We were 4 participants on an individually organised 12 days tour from Murchison in the North to Bwindi in the South.
Back in Germany I, as a participant of this 12 days tour, would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Ms Rose of Gorilla Tours and particularly our guide and driver, Mr. Ali Ssenkungu for the perfect arrangements on this trip
From the very beginning at the airport to the departure drop, the scheduled programme was met with utmost precision, Mr. Ali taking very good care of us. He was sensitive to our needs, friendly and competent - with a fine sense of humour. And he kept, whatever might have irritated him, to himself. I regard him as an excellent guide cum driver and would appreciate it if you could convey this to him
Regarding the arrangements and details of the 12 days tour, these have been worked out in detail with La Palma Explorers, Thomas Sylten who could unfortunately not participate due to sudden illness.
However, the richness and variety of wildlife viewing, the competent rangers we met at different locations and the beautiful photo opportunities we were taken to not only met my / our expectations but exceeded them greatly. Regarding the implementation of the programme I wish to congratulate Gorilla Tours on the fine site selections, the comfortable, clean accommodations, and last but not least to the comfortable car.
The staff of Nature Lodges was always friendly and helpful and despite low occupancy due to Corona, the rooms / tents were well maintained.
Summing up, I would not at all hesitate to mention Gorilla Tours as a very fine and competent Tour Operator in Uganda - with an informative homepage where descriptions meet "reality".

We went on a 11 day safari with Gorilla Tours in Uganda in May 2022. Our driver Richard was excellent. He was a very safe driver on sometimes scary roads. He always checked in with us about what we needed and he was prompt and very informative about the area. We asked him many questions. He was flexible when we needed changes and we felt very comfortable around him. He was great company! We spent 3 days in each area - Kyaninga, Kibale, Murchison Falls and Jinja. They were all simply amazing to visit and each area had its own interesting sights and walks. Gorilla Tours organised all the accommodation and individual activities so it was relaxing for us. Rose at Gorilla Tours was fantastic in communication before the trip via email and was able to change a few things around when we requested. We highly recommend Gorilla Tours to anyone considering an unforgettable trip to Uganda.

We used Gorilla Tours for a 6 day trip starting in Entebbe and ending in Kigali. Our driver Moses was a great driver, very nice and knowledgeable. We started with a horseback safari which was soooo much fun! The next few days we did the community and swamp walk, Chimpanzee trek and the Gorilla trek. All absolutely worth it. The places we stayed were all very clean and the food was delicious. We trekked for about 2.5 hours before finding the Gorillas and it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend Gorilla Tours. They took care of everything from start to finish.

Our experience with Gorilla Tours was fantastic! We hired a large Land Cruiser (for 7ppl) and we’re able to see lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, a crocodile and so forth. We did both a daytime safari game and night safari game. It was worth doing both because animals looked different between daytime and evening. The sunset in savanna was also breathtaking. Our driver, Ali, was so kind, friendly, cheerful, professional, and thoughtful. He let us know about the wild animals we saw and drove between Kampala and Murchison Fall park. He was always willing to assist us anytime. We particularly admired at his professional action that we watched lions from the designated roads even when some other safari cars breached the rule and drove into the bush to watch lions closer. He respected the nature, animals, and park, which we agreed upon. We recommend this Gorilla tours 100% to anyone!!

Gorilla tours is the perfect company to do a round trip in Uganda. We had the perfect experience. Everything was very well organized. We spent one week beginning of January 22 in Uganda. Before we did the gorilla Trecking we spent some days at queen Elizabeth national park - seeing a lot of elephants, lions and hippos. The trip was completely organized by gorilla tours and all lodges were prebooked. Our guide Wilson was very friendly and we felt safe during the entire journey. He had excellent driving skills and knew a lot about wildlife. We were picked up at the airport and directly started our journey. While booking our tour we always got immediate feedback from the back office.
Gorilla Trecking was a breathtaking experience.
If you plan to visit Uganda I fully recommend gorilla tours (try to get Wilson as your guide ;) )

We booked our 5 days trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi National Park and we are glad that we did it with Gorilla Tours. The organization was great. All lodges were comfortable and served nice food. Annette answered all questions in advance and also helped us to organize our transport to Kenya. Communication was uncomplicated. Also our guide Joseph was great, he has a lot of experience and a very good knowledge about the country and the wildlife. When my friend felt sick he took care to get his medicine. He also organized an appointment for the required pcr test. So if you decide to go to Uganda, I would definitely recommend choosing gorilla tours as tour operator and ask for Joseph as a guide.

What is the cost of a trip from Kampala, Uganda, to see Mountaon Gorillas? Cost in GBP?

The permit it’s self is $600 peak season and $450 low season. Once you get that then you can either arrange your own way and accommodation to kisoro or organise with a tour company who will assist with all your needs. There are many tour companies to suit your budget so worth shopping about. Check the Ugandan wild life authority website for more info. Let us know how you get on.
