AA Safaris provided me with a car and driver, but I had organized the trip to Bwindi from Kigali myself. Amos, the driver, was lovely and very flexible. He arrived very punctually to pick me up in Kigali when he was coming from Kabale in Uganda. He drove very carefully and respectfully for the many pedestrians or cyclists. He stopped every time I asked or slowed down when he saw me taking out my camera without me asking to stop. We chatted along the way and he was particularly open about delicate issues, such as gender relations, religions, and even politics.
The vehicle was in excellent condition and very clean, although it was not new.

Our amazing guide Tom was so friendly, prompt, and strived for the best experience for us possible. The Toyota 4x4 Van was surprisingly capable and Tom ensured our safety at all times. Our first night included a Leopard sighting, not during a game drive and definitely overtime for Tom, but he still happily got us the best view and let us sit and watch the elusive cat! Would highly recommend Tom for your adventure in Uganda as he is very knowledgeable and easy to get along with!

Chris Ngabirano was our guide and driver during our recent visit to Rwanda and Uganda. My family and I are very grateful that we were lucky to have Chris with us, he made us feel at ease, was very kind and friendly, took care of us, explained many things we wondered about regarding the countries and their culture and history.
The gorilla visit was extraordinary and magical! And having experienced this together as a family is something we will cherish always.

It was a. pleasure taking you and your family around to explore Uganda and track gorillas after a 2 year wait due to COVID-19. We are glad that Chris made you feel at home during an adventure of a lifetime. We hope that in future we shall take you explore and visit other sites, in Uganda and also Rwanda.

The operator representative made all possible savings on food, water, camping material, transfers.
On arrival the operator rep had no car and we assumed HIS transfer to the starting point when it's OUR transfer that was supposed included. On way back we got transfer after having hardly insisted. We also had to insist to have enough porters, the operator rep trying to save on them letting us transporting our bags when mail exchanges were clear on the subject : only a small walking bag per person and the rest (night and change) by porters.
During the trek was only planned 1.5 l of water per person and per day, rice, noodles, popatoes and .... meat once over 4 days (two of us were vegetarians but all of us have been turned to "carbohydrates-only" vegetarism).
Tents and sleeping bags were not adapted to cold conditions below 0 and nights were nightmares. Tents, ventilated like for savannah and had holes, jammed zips, an arch broken (we repared as we could). Peds and tensioners were missing and we had to fix it ourself. Sleeping bags were very thin and cold and one bag was even a commercial gift printed with a beer advertising !
After complain, the operator proposed that WE would promote them to friends who would benefit of a discount. No compensation for the bad service we received.

It was a sad to learn about this and what transpired, we apologised for the inconveniences that were caused. You initially refused transfers to the start point of the trek. So the guide met with you at your hotel to advise you further on the days program. But due to the fact that you had your own transportation and driver who did not know the area, one person on your team asked the guide to join you in the car and show you directions to the start point.
We acknowledged in our emails, that the guide did not give you our rightfully, stocked tents in the park and apologised for that and actually the guide had to lose his job due to this, because he truth is that he gave out our tents to other clients who are not from our company. Conditions up in mountain Elgon have never gone below 0 degrees the lowest is 9 degrees Celsius.
All in all, we would like to clarify that a refund was offered to you of about 10% to cater for the inconveniences caused, this amounted to USD 50 pp. Unfortunately, you actually trashed this offer and in your email, you said we should give this to the injured. In our response, despite this statement, we still politely, told you that we have full comprehensive insurance, for our injured adventurers, and concluded asking you how much refund you actually wanted. From that we never got any response from you about how much you wanted and that is how our conversations ended. The next thing, we saw were your reviews on the different platforms.
All in all, we offered you a refund, and you never got back to us with a counter offer.

Thankyou AA Safaris for the most memorable holiday for my husband and I. Visiting the mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable forest was something dreams are made of and an experience we will never forget. Our driver Chris was wonderful, always on time, friendly and knowledgeable. We drove from Rwanda to Uganda and back again, we always felt safe, even on high mountain roads where the conditions where questionable. We couldn't have asked for more, thanks Chris, it was a pleasure meeting you.

We had the best stay in Uganda that we could possibly dream of! We chose the moderate accomodation and felt the luxury every day. Our friendly guide Josef was the best and safest driver and shared a lot of knowledge about the ugandan society and not at least the wild life. He did not give up before the lions was there! My best recommendations to AA Safaris and tours.

Chris was amazing!! A wealth of knowledge. He made sure I was in the best gorilla trekking tours each day. I missed my connecting flight and the next available had me arrive at 1am. Chris waited for me and drove the 3 hours to the gorilla territories in the wee hours of the morning so I could make the 6am call time for the first day of trekking. He is a gem and proud to call him a friend.

It is always a pleasure to learn about how excellent our guides perform in the field because that reflects back to AA Safaris and Tours ltd.. Despite all that transpired and you missed your connection flight we are glad to have managed the situation with the help of Chris to ensure that you did your double trekking in Volcanoes national park and also glad that you came as a guest but left as a friend to one of our best guides. Our driver Joseph was absolutely amazing. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He knew all the best spots and had many local tips. Would definitely recommend AA safaris and if you get Joseph you are guaranteed to have a great experience.

Thank you to Chris from AA Safaris for organising and providing a fantastic experience trekking to see the mountain gorillas. Chris picked us up at the airport and drove us to our excellent accommodation. He made sure we were allocated to the most suitable group for the trek to see the gorillas. We couldn’t have wished for a better experience or better service from him, a truely lovely man who obviously cares for his clients and ensures they have a wonderful experience.

We had four action packed days with Chris . He helped us choose the gorilla group to visit ( Xmas) and this was the experience of a lifetime . We also trekked to see the golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National park which was amazing . Chris made the boarder crossings effortless and was always cheerful and professional . We drive a long way on this trip and felt we were in very capable hands .
