I went with my girlfriend, and two kids aged 17 and 9 years, and our 18 month old toddler.
Good things first: the kids had a blast! Though our toddler's favorite rides were the "push the plastic chairs around the dining area" and the "chase the feral cats around the dining area" rides. But it was also the first time he'd ever been in a wading pool, and he loved that too.
Also the entry fee and food were quite reasonably priced.
Bad things: as most reviewers have commented, the place is totally run down. Paint is peeling from everything, and most rides weren't working. The *only* operating rides were the water slide, the wading pools, the Octopus, and the merry-go-round. The pirate ship and the ferris wheel were out of service, though we'd been assured that they'd open up once more visitors arrived. Also I'd visited about eight years ago and at least back then the park was a bit crowded - there weren't more than 70 visitors during our visit today.
My *least* favorite part was the purchase of a (mandatory) floatie for my toddler, which we were told when we left was actually only a rental, so we had to give the floatie back. Again, they told us WHEN WE LEFT that it was a rental, not a purchase. Scam scam scam scam scam.
Another surreal detail: much of the Wonder World space is now rented to neighboring IEAU University. So as you walk around, you encounter buildings that used to be part of Wonder World but are now for University students only.
Still, the place is great for kids, if you don't mind clear safety violations. Definitely not recommended for dates or for groups of adults unless you're intentionally seeking out something like a barely operational Ghost Town.

the place has alot of fun filled activities for the young children. it is perfect for a family day out. the parking is large and secure. the cinema hole on the inside is also a way to get away from the kids. the restaurant staff are rather slow at their service

The idea was good....yes...for leisure and relaxation.....but be careful to move in some of the equipments there like the train and the boat, as sometimes they get stuck along the way, while deep in the air and start calling for God to help!!...For optical nutrition, yes....go ahead!!

I'm not a mother but I would not get my kids over to this place. It looks like something from bizarre spooky ghost movies: ferris wheel tut's about to fly off, a pirate ship in a semi-dilapidated state, battery-powered bumper cars, swimming pool of a weird colour and it is just so, so completely wrongly laid out. Every time I have to go there I shriek because it is a really creepy place. Kids like it only because they never saw something better than that.
Such a terrible pity.

We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children visiting this park on the same day as the public Muslim holiday 'eid'. Everything seemed nice and good at first, that was until we decided we wanted to try one of the main attractions there, "the octopus". We walked over to the line and waited, but while we were waiting for our turn, people were sneaking and pushing themselves in front of us, and some were even sneaking on the ground between our legs instead of waiting patiently in line. When the octopus stopped, the guards opened the gate at the same time as people were moving out of the octopus. This created a massive chaos of children and adults running in all directions. Some of those who left the octopus jumped over the fence and right into the line infront of those who were waiting patiently in line, so that they could go for yet another ride without having to wait in line. Some even remained in the octopus resulting that only few of us who were waiting in line could have a seat. When the guard opened the gate for us who were waiting in line, people who were not in the line at all invaded the octopus by jumping over the security fences and forcing people out of their way. This was not only children, but they're parents and other adults behaved just as bad and even worse. Parents and adults were also skipping the line by jumping over the fences. Everything was a huge mess and everything was completely disorganized. After some time, some police officers arrived to work as guards and finally we thought that they will manage to establish order so that we as well would be able to try the octopus, but we were very wrong. Nothing changed at all, and the guards did absolutely nothing to prevent people from jumping over the security fences, sneaking and pushing people aside. After several tries to enter the attraction, and 1 hour of waiting in a very short, but disorganized line, we complained to the guards but they told us there is nothing they can do to control them.
So we just had to give up when we realized that the only way for us to be able to try the octopus is by misbehaving and fighting our way to our seats.
So we left that attraction and decided to try the pirate boat, but it was just the same as for the octopus. People were fighting to get past those waiting in line, and children were climbing the fence and jumped right in between those who were waiting in line. Trying to confront them and asking them to go back and wait for their turn resulted in stupid looks and laughing.
When we realized that we have to give up on this attraction as well, we decided to take the children over to the swimming pool. But the swimming pool which was meant for young children were completely occupied by misbehaving wild teenagers and young adults so we left this as well as we didn't want to take the risk anyone getting injured.
Finally we found a small inflatable water slide for our kids to enjoy, that water slide was just next to a big playground, so we (the adults) sat down next to the playground, watching the children.
Then after some time some kids at the playground started fighting, and then something completely unacceptable and shocking happens, their mothers starts fighting as well in an extremely violent way, they were throwing stones, and when they couldn't find more stones they started throwing shoes at each other, and one woman's came with a stick and started to hitting the other women. Other people were gathering around and tried to stop them, and when the police came they finally stopped. But after the police/guards left, they started throwing stones again, this happened 3 times before the police asked some of the women to leave. But they refused to leave and the police didn't want to use force, so they remained.
At this time we decided to leave because we couldn't enjoy the park at all, everything was disorganized and in completely chaos. The 70.000shs we paid for the 7 of us was a completely waste of money and time. I don't know if everyday is like this, we have only been here once, but it sure ruined our day completely.

Imagine a merry-go-round with rusty nails sticking out. If you're at all nostalgic for the days before public safety was a thing, Kampala has a rare gem for you. Sure, most of the rides don't work well enough to be dangerous, but the ones that do more than make up for their dilapidated counterparts. While holding onto the loose restraint bar, striving not to fall to my death, I looked across the Pirate Ship to see a teenager crying and trying not to vomit. You can't get that sort of experience just anywhere. Immerse yourself in the Wonder; dehydrated children, unreliable hours of operation, indifferent staff. You'll never need to go on a ride again. By the time I had completed my twenty minute experience on the Octopus, I never wanted to go on another ride in my life. Ever.

My kids used to love this place until they were old enough to realize how dangerous it is! You risk your life on a bunch of old, barely functional amusement park rides, its cheap and uses up a dull Saturday afternoon, but at your own risk! Ha ha!

Shafic a man at the pool is very rude to customers and there is no point of contact to complain to supervisor/manager.
No management , extorsion takes place there but no one in charge to stop it

This place was once an amazing place for children and adults to enjoy their Sundays. Now most of the rides are either broken or not there anymore.
All the small stalls/shops have gone, dominoes used to serve up fresh delicious pizza but due to problems with the rent increase they left too.
If it were given to a proper management company and money injected back into this project then I'm sure it can get back to its glory days.

If I was to say I had a completely happy time whilst I was at Wonder World, that would be a lie. Happy is not really the right term to encompass the emotional rollercoaster that one experiences whilst at the park. 'Obvious lack of maintenance' seems to be the tone that Wonder World is trying to put across in its appearance, and the state of the rides compliments this decor quite wonderfully. You quite literally are shaking with the adrenaline buzz when you step off the rides, the Pirate Ship encouraging the most vigorous shaking for myself, whereas two of my friends had a rather exciting time on the Octopus ride ('Polido' maybe?), where their safety bar didn't lock, and when they informed the ride manager chap afterwards, he was aware of such, and happily encouraged the next batch of ignorant thrill hunters on to the ride. There are disclaimers displayed almost everywhere, informing visitors that Wonder World doesn't take any responsbility for anything ever, never has and never will. All in all, it was quite an experience, something definitely worth doing whilst in Kampala, though I do feel it could've been made even better if there were 'I survived Wonder World' t-shirts available for purchase at the exit.
