We really enjoyed this walking tour of Kampala. It was a great way to experience the city’s energy, history, and culture up close. We visited bustling markets, historical sites, and ended with a great view from the Gaddafi Mosque minaret.
A special thanks to our guide, Mimi, who was knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience very insightful and enjoyable.
If you're looking for a guided introduction to the city, we would definitely recommend this tour!

We had so much fun in the tour through the main attractions in Kampala. Merci our guide, took the time to lead us through the history of the city and Uganda, we had plenty of time for shopping and admiring the views of Kampala. She even went an extra mile and took us to the Tombs, eventhough it was not in the Tour and made sure we get back home safely - will recommend Zulaika and her Team of Kampala Walking Tours to all my friends and visitors to the beautiful city that is Kampala!

As a newcomer to Kampala I booked the six hour walking tour to get a real feeling for the city and it’s people and sights. Booking and confirming by Zulaika was swift and professional. At the meeting point I was met by Mercy, who proved to be a very knowledgeable, flexible and kind guide and person, with a great sense of humour and a genuine interest and passion for Kampala and it’s complex and fascinating history. We walked, we talked, visited the monuments, markets and big and small landmarks, and time just flew by! Mercy had many intereresting things to say about Kampala’s history, traditions, and culture. Among the highlights were a visit to the National Mosque with a climb up the Minaret for wonderful views, strolling through several colorful and lively markets, a visit to a Hindu temple and to the huge taxi stand, and, as final stop, the palace. Thank you for a perfect tour, Mercy and Zulaika! I can’t wait to repeat it when family and friends visit, and to try your food walk as well!

Thanks to Kampala Walking Tours, I had a fantastic weekend with my brother and a friend in Murchison Falls. Zulaika, our charming and knowledgeable guide arranged a true adventure for us.
We saw everything we wanted to see and more.
Zulaika was diligent to make sure we had the best experience for each activity.
For example: She made sure we saw the sunset on our Nile cruise when the boat driver wanted to turn back early, and she made sure our rhino trekking group was small enough such that we got an up close and personal experience like no other.
Uganda has plenty of beauty to offer, so don’t delay, hire zulaika to take you out and take it in it now!

We did a wonderful tour of the city of Kampala (Camp of impalas- how many interesting things we did learn!) on Sunday. She has a deep understanding of the history of the city, which made the experience come alive. The way she presented the places she took us, and in the order she presented them, gave us a real appreciation of and its place in history.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one day tour to Nile spring by car. A nice naturalistic walk in the nature.
We did two customized 3 days tours Murchinson falls and a safari (or, as they call it: a game drive) . We sow a lot of animals, the big five and more.

Worth every cent! Starting from the speedy response to my request to book a tour, the Kampala Walking Tours team were able to accommodate my last-minute request. On the walking tour itself, Aisha was an incredibly knowledgeable guide, giving us deep insight into the city and the history of Uganda. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get know the true Kampala.

Zulaika was an amazing guide for our 10 day group tour through Uganda. She knows the best stops and has the experience that always makes your group feel comfortable. She was also able to work with our budget and time restraints while still giving us the trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend!

I was in Entebbe for a quick 2-day stopover, and needed to head to Kampala to send a gift to someone as a favour to a friend.
I reached out the night before and they were able to include me in the next days trip. Joan was our guide and was excellent, as I wouldn’t have even seen half the sights if I tried to do it myself. She even got me a boda boda to go drop off my package. She was super friendly and gave the best vibe of friendliness and helpfulness. This seems to be common among the Ugandan people I’ve encountered but I feel like she took it a step further.
All in all, it’s worth the price. I could’ve researched everything and tried to come up with an itinerary myself, but I still would’ve been caught in the maze of the markets in the city centre, or may not have even gone there.
Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience working with Zulaika and her team at Uganda Walking Tours. She put together a customized itinerary to Bwindi that fit our needs and was in budget. We especially appreciated her “insider knowledge” on lodging, restaurants, and excursions that was much more unique and authentic than the larger tour companies that have operations outside of Uganda.
We can’t wait for our next visit!

What is the name of textil market in Kampala? Just to buy some african design closes & textile in Kampala!
Written November 29, 2018
The Owino market probably has more textiles than the Nakasero market but they are quite near each other so in walking distance from town centre. Most people are friendly so dont be afraid to ask directions.

If you only want to stay in Kampala then I suggest Kampala Walking Tour. It is about 1/2 day and will provide you with highlights of city and history. Also reasonably priced.
