My experience doing a safari and rhino trek with Primate World Safaris was perfect in every way. The team was incredibly responsive to our questions when planning our trip, flexible and accommodating to suit the needs of our group and were friendly, on time, responsible, organized and welcoming every step of the way. I felt incredibly safe travelling with them as our guides and enjoyed their friendly, open nature. My 13 year old boy really felt that the relationship he developed with the guides (George and Jeffrey) was a big part of his trip. Jackson was a pleasure to work with every step of the way. Highly recommended!

Jackson was extremely helpful in designing an itinerary and accommodating my requests and suggestions until I felt confident that I had the best trip planned!
I was met at the airport by Jackson and my driver/guide George (also known as Geoffrey) and we set off early the next day on my bespoke 8 day trip. George was a good driver and I enjoyed travelling with him and learnt a lot about each area. The safari van with the pop up roof was excellent. George took huge pride in giving me the best possible experience and, for example, on game drives, he wouldn’t rest until I had seen everything!
Murchison Park was the highlight for me, the most beautiful savannah with a wealth of animals - we saw lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, hippos, kobs, hartebeest, warthogs etc. Add to this the spectacular waterfall and lovely 3 hour boat cruise.
Other stand outs for me were gorilla trekking in Bwindi, with an incredible hour spent up close with a family of gorillas. And Rhino trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
For me, QE Park was nowhere near as impressive as Murchison Park and chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest was not great (I think Kibale would be better).
My accommodation ranged from stunning (Aardvark Lodge, QE Park), to very good (Papyrus, Entebbe and Rushaga Gorilla Camp, Bwindi) to not so good (Ikorom Lodge, Murchison Park).
All in all, I had a brilliant 8 day trip with George, who took great care of me and treated me like one of his family. Going on safari in Uganda was a truly memorable experience and I would highly recommend Jackson and George at Primate World Safaris.

We travelled to Uganda with our adult children to attend a family wedding but were keen to also see some of the country and wildlife. Jackson was really helpful in planning a trip for the five of us that fitted into our schedule and enabled us to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Highlights were seeing lions, elephants and hippos and our day gorilla trekking. Our guide Abdul was fantastic and looked after us really well making sure we had frequent stops and he was expert at spotting wildlife. All accommodation was good and staff very helpful. We had a fantastic time!

Geofrey provided incredible guide and driver services in our 11 day journey through the wonders of Uganda. He provided game drives through the national parks, set up incredible local guides/park rangers. We enjoyed local community visits to experience the life of local people and opportunities to support the local communities. The lodges were top-notch with small venues with local materials for construction, many solar- powered. Each lodge (except one) included a free standing Africa style cottage. Each offered a Ugandan style with creature comforts of hot water, comfy beds, and safe haven. Primate World Safaris is an incredible company where we became family not customers from day one. Highly recommended.

We planned the trip (route, accommodation etc) ourselves but used a guide from Primate World Safaris to get us everywhere and help us out where needed. Geoffrey is the best guide you can wish for! Always there to help, assist, give advice, and a great animal spotter! Second time I went with this company in Uganda, and would recommend to everyone!

We just returned from an unbelievable trio to Uganda. We were a group of 10- 5 mom's and 5 13 year-old sons. Our boys raised money to bring electricity to a village and before and after the ceremony Primate works safari set up an incredible 8 day tour for us. Jackson was amazing to work with and always took our feedback and changed things that we wanted changed and his staff and guides: Geoffrey, George and Alex were kind, fun and a pleasure to be with. Our sons mentioned that some of their favorite times on the trip were just hanging out and talking to our guides and they really felt like they got to know the people and culture of Uganda. No doubt we will be back or take a trip to Rwanda or Kenya and we will 100% hire them again. Thank you Primate world safari!

Uganda and Rwanda have much to offer. We booked our much anticipated holiday with Jackson at Primate World Safaris and he was very good at responding promptly and we agreed on a custom itinerary. The problems happened after we arrived and began our tour in July 2014. We discovered that the driver had a different itinerary than the one we agreed on. We travelled for 11 hours to get to our destination only to discover there was no booking at the hotel for us. We were to do a monkey trek and instead did a chimpanzee one. When we got to the bush lodge in Queen Elizabeth Park we were told 24 hrs later that we were in the wrong accommodation and were told to move. The description in our itinerary matched the original accommodation we were given at the lodge so we were puzzled why we had to downgrade. Jackson wasn't very accommodating after several phone calls to him to help us sort out all the issues which seemed to be mistake after mistake due to the company's inefficiencies. We arrived at 2 pm at Queen Elizabeth Park and were not able to go into the park on a safari as no booking for passes was made. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to this. When we were in Kigali we were to have a city tour but that did not happen as planned. While at Kampala, we were to be picked up at 8 am by the guide for our day tour and he didn't show up until 9:45 am. We were unable to reach Jackson as he didn't answer his phone. We enjoyed our trip but for a holiday the stress level was very high throughout the trip thanks to Primate World Safaris. Beware. Anne A.

I booked a five-day chimp and gorilla safari with Primate World Safaris, later adding a tour of Kampala for the buffer day I left in my itinerary before the safari proper. Jackson from the main office was very helpful and responsive right from the moment I asked for a quote. He prepared a very detailed itinerary with several accommodation options. On the morning of the first day, Jackson arrived at the hostel I stayed at and introduced the guide/driver, Alex (Bob), with whom I was to spend the next six days. Alex turned out to be a great companion and a very knowledgeable guide. I learned a lot not just about the natural attractions of Uganda but also about its history, economy and daily life; I also had several chances to try local food. While Kampala lacks world-famous attractions, the day trip was still quite interesting. The primate safari itself was superb and very well organized. We visited Kibale Forest for chimpanzees and Bwindi Impenetrable Park for gorillas, passing through the Queen Elizabeth National Park on our way between the two (we even saw a few animals from the car). Apart from chimp and gorilla tracking, I also went on shorter nature and cultural excursions on two afternoons. I chose a budget option for the accommodation and it exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and amenities. All in all, I had a great time in Uganda and can definitely recommend Primate World Safaris to anyone planning a visit to the country.

This trip was incredible! Jackson at Primate World Safaris prepared a bespoke but excellent value trip for us at reakaticeky short notice, and paired my daughter and I up with one of only a very few female quides in Uganda.
The moment Leticia greeted us at the airport I relaxed, she is confident, extremely competent and knowledgeable, clearly highly respected by her peers but also so beautifully friendly warm kind and funny. I am quite sure the other guides are also great, but Leticia totally made this holiday for us!
I am so glad we chose Uganda for our first trip to Africa, we were able to see everything we hoped for and more but in a relaxed (mostly 😂) uncrowded way.
The safaris were wonderful we saw all of the big animals and many more, some in great numbers and several very close encounters. What a privilege! The two boat trip safaris were very special with close encounters with the huge numbers of hippos and viewing if many animals that come to the water to drink etc.
The primate treks for me were the highlight. Racing through dense forest in pursuit of the chimpanzees who when you meet them are so uniquely like us. The gorilla trekking (which I was worried about as an overweight 50+ year old) where I was encouraged and looked after so well by the guides and porters who showed confidence in my ability to achieve the goal of scrambling through the well described “impenetrable” rainforest to eventually come face to face with a small group of gorillas which included a huge silverback and mumma and baby... Do hire a porter .. even if you are super fit you are providing someone with a day’s employment and you will be glad not to have to carry your daypack, as for me I was extremely grateful for that pushing and shoving that I got along the way ..
We also enjoyed the community encounters that we had - be it at a market stall; making baskets and laughing with lovely ladies on a community visit; entertainment at the lodge in Bwindi from local children and women’s group or excited children on the roadside. My only regret is that we didn’t have longer to immerse ourselves in that culture... next time maybe..

I heard a lot about the unforgettable encounter of mountain gorillas and after a little research my eyes feel on Uganda. My friend and I were put in touch with Jackson from the Primate World Safaris via the UK based Responsible Travel and it was a choice well made. Jackson and George, our driver/guide, were concerned about our comfort and overall happiness throughout the whole trip. We went for the 15 day Uganda Wildlife and Activity Holiday and I loved the fact that the trip was not only well organised but also balanced in terms of activities (gentle rafting, community and wildlife) but also there was time to rest. George was was fairly new to his job but proved to be a competent driver, fun and ensured we had always enough water and pineapples (nice touch George!) at the back of the car. It was my first time in Africa and I had no idea what to expect. The top experience was indeed seeing the gorillas in their natural habitat - worth every second of the hour we had with them. Jackson and George prepared and delivered a trip that will stay with me for the rest of my life - thanks to them I know I will return to Africa.
