We (4 old friends from Canada and the UK) did 2 trips in November 2019. The first was a 3 day trip from Kigali to Lake Kivu in Rwanda with Godfrey. I have done several trips with Prime Safaris and they have been uniformly excellent. Godfrey was no exception - intelligent, sensitive to our needs and very informative. We saw many wonderful sights. Godfrey dropped us at the Ugandan border at Cyanika where we met up with Ugandan friends to visit water projects in the Virunga mountains.
The second part of this trip was from Kampala to Murchison Falls Park - a classic African safari. Our guide was Denis, another wonderful, very knowledgeable man. Denis was very astute at finding animals - we even saw 3 leopards on one game drive!
I have been to Uganda many times, and I tell people if you want to see Africa in a relatively safe place, at reasonable cost, go to Uganda and use Prime Safaris. On this trip, the owner of the company, Cate, even came to our hotel to check that everything was OK.

We booked a 3 day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Prime Safari's and would recommend and book with them again. The planning and communication through email was consistent and professional and our trip was tailored to what we wanted to do and where we wanted to stay with plenty of options to choose from. Godwin was an excellent driver and tour guide making sure we felt safe and hydrated at all times. He was very knowledgable, accommodating, always on time and always greeted us with a smile. Thank You Cate for arranging our amazing trip and for following through making sure we were picked up on time and Thank You Godwin for being with us throughout our 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari!

I am rating this a 4 simply because the 1st lodge we stayed in had limited hot water and internet; as well as short windows (2 hours) for food during breakfast lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Were it not for that this would be a 5-star review. Because our tour guide Jerom was AMAZING. He was so enthusiastic about his country and sharing as much information about it as he possibly could with us. It makes such a huge difference when someone enjoys their job and Jerom told us this is his dream job! It was obvious. Everyday he was energetic and happy (but not in an annoying way). He was very accommodating and attentive to our needs and extremely professional. I highly recommend him. The trek itself was a life changing experience. We were lucky enough to see the entire family of 14 gorillas altogether in one spot. They’d just had lunch so they were lounging and the younger ones were playing. It was amazing. I could not believe how close we got. Jerom was excited to hear all about it as if he’d just sent his own family on a field trip. We stopped at local shops on the way home and he did not rush us at all even though it was getting pretty late. This was definitely worth the time and money. Thanks for making it great Jerom!

We rented a safari van for 11 days for a family of five to take us to Jinja, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth NP, Kisoro to climb Mt. Muhavura, Lake Bunyonyi and back to Entebbe. Our experience with Prime Safaris was outstanding. Cate handled our reservation and she was outstanding. She promptly responded to our emails and Whatsapp inquiries and delivered what was promised, excellent fully serviced van with one of the best driver / tour guide Emma (WhatsApp +256 782 545731) . It was very pleasant working with Cate and she made sure everything was in order. Cate works very hard and is very efficient, responds promptly. While not the cheapest, I would not hesitate to utilize Prime Safaris again. Emma our driver and guide is very hard working, punctual, safe driver and very pleasant to work with. He went beyond what was required. One of our bags didn't arrive and Emma took us from Jinja to Entebbe at 5.00 AM to avoid traffic and then safely to Murchison Falls. We were lucky, he spotted two leopards at Murchison. The game drives with Emma were magnificent. At QENP, Emma took us to a track where we saw 13 lions. I could go on, however I would definitely use Prime Safaris Cate and Emma again. Cate Thank you. Emma, you made our trip very enjoyable, thanks for your hard work and long hours, we appreciate.

I traveled to Uganda during the Covid crisis, of course feeling slightly queasy; and then it was all just overwhelming!

I booked my two sections of the trip with Prime Uganda Safaris, just as I did four years ago when I first traveled to the country where there is never a boring moment. Prime Uganda Safaris is one hundred percent recommended. They offer the most amazing trips within Uganda, whether short or long.

I had a special request for the greater Kampala area, no problem, Cate can do magic. Simply send her an email, then you already feel the friendliness of the Ugandans on your screen. No money grubbing. I had one day Entebbe and three days Mweya with Queen Elisatbeth National Park safari. Those were days I will never forget. Just like the previous speaker from Korea, I had Dennis as a tour guide. The man is a blast, a highly intelligent and always friendly guy, just like Anasjas (spelled right?) four years ago. During the game driving Dennis had 50 eyes, he always spotted the animals immediately. Lions, hippos, antelopes, elephants, buffalos and birds without end. The program included a boat trip on Lake Edward. Thank you folks from Mweya Lodge, too! A great view of the lake landscape from your own terrace.

My tip; on the way maybe a few steps through the small villages, where there is maybe no Big Ben and no Eiffel Tower, but the Ugandan everyday life with smiling people.

Thank you, Cate! Greetings to your family, we were all able to greet each other briefly in the lobby! I will come back! Thank you, Dennis, it was a pleasure to have your company!

My partner and I chose Prime Safaris to help us with planning (and actually doing everything) in our trip to Uganda in October 2022. I have only good things to say about them and would highly recommend them.

Booking: I've contacted many many local (Uganda) and international (UK based mainly) travel agencies before choosing Prime. They were all fine, but Prime offered pretty much the same activities, very similar locations (if not the same), for a much better price than anyone else. Of course price is probably a key criteria for many people but I have to say that Prime also had the best service/support. Prior to our actual travel, we were in contact with a lady called Cate. She was always very helpful and did an amazing job in organising a tailored 14 day travel for us. The travel she organised was perfect and we did everything that we wanted to do/experience in Uganda. She was also amazing in helping with organising a nice surprise for me in one of the days of my travel as it was my birthday. Cate was also very helpful and super fast in providing support for our visa requirements. She was also brilliant in helping us with getting our luggage that did not arrive on the flight.

The experience: Cate/Prime were very good at planning a travel in accordance with our requirements/expectations. We had a 14 day travel during what is supposed to be the rainy season (it was not rainy) so not the easiest to plan. Cate/Prime ended up arranging a very nice travel along the more West side of the country (from Murchison Falls going through the various national parks, ending up with Gorillas and heading back to Entebbe). The plan was very good and we definitely spend enough time in each location. And having some days in between Chimp and gorilla trekking was great to have a kind of a break in between similar activities.

The guide: Our guide for the 14 days was Emma (Ema?). He was fantastic. Emma had an amazing knowledge of the country, culture and animals we were seeing everyday and we learned A LOT with him. He was also fantastic with unexpected things that will happen in travels like this (all minor) and always made sure everything was as smooth as possible. Emma also helped a lot in getting our luggage to us when we the air travel had a problem delivering it and we were not staying a single location long enough for it to be delivered in a timely manner. I should also say that he is an excellent driver and went beyond anything to make us happy and to ensure we saw everything/had a good time. We had a great time with him and really enjoyed meeting and having him around for the trip.

We did a 4 day tour (Nyiragongo volcano and Gorilla trekking)
We had just finished tow tours before this one, so we were expecting average, but we were wrong.
Cate had every detail sorted out and even a present for us.
Godfrey picked us up, awesome driver and great companion, our trip to Rwanda border was super nice and the food included was 10/10
specially at Kibumba camp.
they volcano and the gorillas are spectacular, so if you are looking to go there Prime is an awesome company, we did a midrange tour and it felt luxury to be honest.

We had a fabulous experience with Prime Safaris. Our driver, Peter Nsubuga, anticipated our needs, including bringing extra materials to make our stay more comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the animals, birds, and culture, and made our adventure comfortable and unique. Highly recommended!

Cate of Prime Safaris organized a 21-day Birding Safari in Uganda for our three-person family this September guided by Brian Tuhaise. Leading up to the trip she took great care to organise the trip around our requirements. Brian was a wonderful driver on largely unsurfaced roads at the extremes of the country. As we were there at the start of the rainy season, this took some considerable skill on his part. Together we found most of the iconic birds in this birding mecca of over 1100 species. This included the Shoebill, the Green Breasted Pitta, the African Finfoot, and the African Broadbill. Some of the most interesting areas were Kidepo NP in the NE and the Ruwenzori Mountains in the SW where we saw Albertine Rift endemics. We used largely budget
accommodation which was perfectly satisfactory. We strongly recommend Uganda as a birding destination and Cate of Prime Safaris to put one together for you. Get your visa online rather than on arrival at Entebbe. Some airlines will not let you board without one.

Jerome and Robert from Prime Safaris made our trip an experience we'll never forget. The trip with all its details, lunch breaks and over-night stays was planned brilliantly. We visited the Rhino Sanctuary and continued towards the Murchison Falls National Park where we stayed for two nights at the Hornbill lodge, which was a cozy accommodation with delicious food and helpful staff. Then we headed towards Queen Elizabeth National Park with a lunch break in Fort Portal. In Queen Elizabeth we stayed at the Pumba Safari Cottages which had breathtaking views over the park. The staff there was helpful as well, and the food was just as amazing as at the first place we stayed. Jerome and Robert were magnificent guides with knowledge and a great amount of hospitality.

We recommend Prime Safaris with full heart, Uganda and this trip will always stay with us in our hearts and minds.
