I can't speak to the actual trip itself, but I can tell you about the delightful young man who will be leading your expedition. I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie when he visited the US as a chaperone for a Ugandan children's choir in 2019.
Jamie, (or Uncle James, as I know him) demonstrated extreme patience, gentleness, and kindness with his young charges. Uncle James is charismatic, and his passion and knowledge of the Ugandan wilderness are evident. The pictures and descriptions he shared with us of the "Pearl of Africa" were breathtaking.
I'm confident anyone booking an expedition with Jaime would be in excellent hands, and I look forward to the day when I am able to have the opportunity myself!

Very few friends become family. An absolutely rare combination is having such a person as your tour guide!!! I am very privileged and excited to have had James, my High School friend, as my tour guide and personal driver throughout my honeymoon. 😁
My wife and I truly had a blissful experience and the trip turned out waaaaaaayyyy better than expected. James is truly a professional tour guide and business person too; excellent time management, proactive in resolving challenges and well informed about the tourist sites. 👌
Many thanks to Jamie Jungle Safaris for a memorable road trip (lots of photos were taken), and participating in the happiness that started off our marriage.
We are already saving up for the next road trip. 😎

Our recent safari experience in Uganda, guided by Jamie and his crew, was an absolute dream come true. From the awe-inspiring rhino sanctuary to the untamed beauty of Murchison National Park, every moment was a breathtaking adventure that left us in awe of Uganda's natural wonders.
Our journey began with a visit to the rhino sanctuary where we were able to observe these incredible creatures from a close but safe distance. The next leg of our adventure took us to Murchison National Park.
Jamie's enthusiasm for the park was infectious, and their keen eye helped us spot wildlife that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Throughout the three days in the park, we were treated to spectacular sightings of elephants, giraffes, a lion, and a stunning array of birdlife. We even spotted a leopard relaxing in a tree from a distance.
What truly set this safari experience apart was Jamie's genuine passion for Uganda's wildlife and ecosystems. Their dedication to sharing this passion with us made the journey not just a tour, but an immersive learning experience. It was evident that they had built strong relationships with local experts and conservationists, enriching our adventure with authentic insights into Uganda's conservation challenges and successes.
If you're thinking about doing a safari while your in Uganda, we would highly recommend Jamie!!

I have just returned from a trip to Uganda and partof my time there was going on safari with Jamie Jungle Safaris. Our host, James, had arranged everything in advance so we did not have to worry about anything. Accomodation, meals etc, all arranged.
I am aiming to be back in Uganda next year and hoping to use this company again. James is an honest, reliable person who looks after his customers very well indeed. I have no hesitation in writing a recommendation for this company.

Our safari with Isaac was an incredible experience! The places we stayed were luxurious, the driving was so smooth it defied understanding, and the food was all delicious! Our time spent in the national parks was full of expert information and unbelievable animal sightings. We saw everything we hoped to see and more! And Isaac, our driver, took such good care of us for the entire trip. All our needs were met and our expectations were exceeded. We hoped for a good vacation; what we found was a once-in-a-lifetime experience making good friends along the way!

Cannot recommend Jamie Jungle Safaris enough! Every detail is well planned out including travel, food, and lodging. We could only make a quick 24 hour safari trip but we were able to see many Lions, a Leopard, a Hyena, Giraffes and Elephants very close, and many more species!

What's the best time to travel to Uganda
Written August 21, 2023
The best time to travel to Uganda depends on your preferences and the activities you want to engage in during your trip. Uganda has a relatively stable climate due to its equatorial location, but there are a few key factors to consider:
Dry Seasons: The dry seasons are generally considered the best times to visit Uganda. These seasons provide more comfortable weather and better wildlife viewing opportunities. The dry seasons are:
December to February: This is the short dry season, characterized by warm temperatures and minimal rainfall. It's a great time for gorilla trekking and other outdoor activities.
June to August: This is the longer dry season, offering similar conditions to the short dry season. It's another good time for wildlife viewing and trekking.
Wet Seasons: The wet seasons, although characterized by more rainfall, can still be suitable for certain activities and offer advantages such as fewer crowds and lush green landscapes. However, road conditions can become challenging in some areas due to heavy rains. The wet seasons are:
March to May: This is the long rainy season, with heavy rainfall and occasional thunderstorms. Some lodges and attractions might close during this period due to accessibility issues.
September to November: This is the short rainy season, with less rainfall than the long rainy season. It can be a good time for birdwatching and the lush scenery is quite appealing.
Gorilla Trekking: If your main goal is gorilla trekking, the dry seasons are generally recommended. The dry conditions make the trails more accessible, and the chances of rain affecting your trek are lower. However, it's important to note that gorilla permits can get booked up quickly during peak tourist seasons, so it's advisable to book well in advance.
Birdwatching: Bird enthusiasts might enjoy the wet seasons, as this is when many migratory birds arrive in Uganda, increasing the birdwatching opportunities.
Prices and Crowds: The dry seasons are considered peak tourist times, so accommodations and attractions might be more crowded and expensive. The wet seasons see fewer tourists and potentially lower prices, but some lodges and activities might be limited.
In summary, the best time to travel to Uganda depends on your priorities. If you're interested in gorilla trekking and wildlife viewing, the dry seasons are ideal. If you want to avoid crowds and experience the lush beauty of Uganda, the wet seasons could be appealing. It's a good idea to plan your trip based on your interests and the type of experience you're seeking.

what's Unique about Uganda
Written August 21, 2023
Certainly, here are some unique aspects about Uganda:
Mountain Gorillas: Uganda is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park provide opportunities for visitors to go on gorilla trekking expeditions, allowing them to witness these incredible creatures up close.
Source of the Nile: The Nile River, one of the longest rivers in the world, originates from Lake Victoria in Uganda. Jinja, a town located near the source, is a hub for water-based activities and adventure sports.
Diverse Cultures: With over 56 ethnic groups and languages, Uganda is culturally rich. Visitors can experience a wide array of traditions, music, dances, and cultural festivals.
Primate Diversity: Apart from mountain gorillas, Uganda is home to other primate species such as chimpanzees, golden monkeys, and colobus monkeys, providing unique opportunities for primate tracking and observation.
Lakes and Mountains: Uganda's landscape includes vast lakes (such as Lake Victoria and Lake Bunyonyi) and mountain ranges (like the Rwenzori Mountains), offering stunning scenery and outdoor recreational opportunities.
Big Five Wildlife: National parks like Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park are home to the "Big Five" game animals: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinoceroses.
Birdwatching Paradise: Uganda is a prime destination for bird enthusiasts, boasting a diverse range of bird species, including the rare shoebill stork.
Equator Crossing: Uganda is one of the few countries where the Equator crosses. Visitors can experience unique equator-related phenomena and visit equator-themed landmarks.
Warm and Friendly People: Ugandans are known for their hospitality and friendliness towards visitors. Engaging with locals can provide authentic cultural experiences.
Conservation Efforts: The country places emphasis on conservation through initiatives such as community-based tourism, wildlife protection, and sustainable development.
Lively Capital City: Kampala, the capital, is a dynamic city where modernity meets tradition. It's known for its vibrant markets, arts scene, and energetic nightlife.
These are just a few of the many unique features that make Uganda a captivating and distinctive travel destination.
