We booked a 7 day tour of Uganda with AAT, including Murchison Falls, Kibale chimp tracking, QENP, Bwindi Gorilla tracking and lake bunyonyi. The whole trip was breathtaking, we had incredible experiences spotting wildlife and couldnt recommend Uganda more for its beautiful scenery and diversity.
Sarah helped us to organise the trip and was very good at replying quickly and answering my questions. Sarah organised our itinerary and gave helpful suggestions.
For payment, i was initially concerned to send a large amount electronically. Sarah was reassuring and in the end I sent part of the payment and the paid the rest in cash on arrival. Sarah was able to send me photos of our permits for rhino, chimp and gorilla tracking so i could see that they had been purchased. I would be happy to send the full amount prior to the trip in future, as they are a reputable company and we had no issues.
Moses was our driver/guide and he was very informative and helpful. He is very knowledgable about Uganda and was able to answer lots of our questions. When one of us needed to go to a pharmacy, Moses was happy to detour and help us to get the medication we required.
Tips:
1. we did the Batwa Pygmy community walk in Bwindi. This walk includes visiting a school, we would have taken some books and stationary if we had known.
2. Have lots of change/local currency available in Uganda as there are a lot of local guides and hotel staff to tip. we took money out at the ATM in the airport
3. Take gardening gloves for the Bwindi trek
4. wear gaiters for the chimp and gorilla tracking. we saw lots of ants during both.
5. be prepared for long drives and dusty roads, but this was also a fantastic chance to see rural Uganda, how people live and watch the landscape changing.
I would definitely recommend this company and highly recommend to visit Uganda.

We booked our trip on a short notice, but everything was sorted out fast and without any hassle. Both Sarah and Robert were kind and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We were picked up at our hotel in Kampala by Augustine, our driver and guide.

During the game drives and boat rides we saw many fantastic animals such as giraffes, zebras, warthogs, elephants, waterbucks, cobs, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, a wide range of birds and most impressively we saw both lions and a leopard . Both of these are hard to find and seeing either of them is not something to be taken for granted. Our guide Augustine did a great job finding them despite the fact that they are excellently camouflaged in the savannah landscape.

The land cruiser we travelled in is an amazing vehicle for its purpose with lots of space inside, a great view through the rooftop opening, and incredible off-road/bad road capability.

The first night we stayed at Mpogo Safari Lodge. It is a nice quiet lodge with good food and spacious rooms. The staff are excellent and the compound is like a garden.

The second night we slept at Baboon safari lodge. This lodge has a vast view over the national park, I have never stayed any place with such a view before. We could even see elephants from where we ate our dinner. There is also a nice swimming pool, the rooms are large and you can sit in a swing on the balcony outside the room. The staff are friendly and helpful.

All in all it was a great trip and we experienced a lot in a short time. We had a lot of fun travelling with Augustine and would easily recommend this safari to anyone.

My husband and I just got back from our AMAZING 8 day safari in Uganda. Our safari included (in summary) Murchinson Falls (visit, game drive, boat cruise), Fort Portal (we did Chimp tracking in Kibali), Queen Elizabeth safari and boat ride in the Kazinga Channel, our unforgettable trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest and our last night in Lake Bunyonyi. We also had a stop at the Equator line on our way back to the city.

I decided to book with African Adventure Travellers (AAT) after contacting many travel agencies in Uganda. This was the best decision! I planned this trip two months ahead and being the planner that I am, I had a million questions, all of which were quickly answered by Robert at AAT. He organized everything as requested and quickly made changes to the itinerary and/or gave us different options to choose from. Traveling during Covid, is not simple, at least for me. AAT made sure to share all the SOPs that the tourism sector is taking during this uncertain time and assured us they will coordinate for our Covid test results to be delivered in time for our flight back which gave me peace of mind.

We booked the luxury option and all the hotels were beautiful and had my vegetarian meals as requested, which by the way were delicious. All our hotels had breathtaking views. Our truck was a spacious 4X4 which made the drive through very muddy, rocky and bumpy roads somehow comfortable. Everything Robert organized went as promised. So thank you Robert, for your patience and effort in making our journey an unforgettable one!

Our driver/guide Patrick, was beyond expectations and we’re thankful to have had his company during our trip. You should see the roads he got us through! He was knowledgeable, kind and patiently answered all our questions and he was ALWAYS punctual (always ready to go way before we even got up). He made us feel super safe and we got to enjoy the scenery without worrying about getting where we had to as he made sure we were there on time. He also made sure we got to see as many of the sightings as posible and didn’t give up on finding the animals on our list. He even stopped a motorcycle driver and asked him to let us take a pic of his banana cargo lol. The game drives were awesome. We saw lions, leopards, giraffes, hyena (my first one and I have been on multiple safaris), and many many more wild animals!!! From my side (because my husband was a lot more relaxed), being a little paranoid with the Covid situation in Uganda (yes, the country went in full lockdown while we were on our safari), I appreciate that Patrick was very cautious and not only followed protocols but ensured we (I) felt confortable everywhere. So THANK YOU Patrick!

I’d definitely recommend AAT to my friends and family and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again if we ever venture to that side of the world again. This trip will go into my memories as one of the best ever!

My wife and I recently toured with African Adventure Travellers on a private trip to western Uganda. We went to Queen Elizabeth (including chimp tracking in the gorge) and Bwindi for the famous mountain gorillas. Both parks/experiences were memorable. We were within 1 meter of both chimps and gorillas at times but felt safe with our guides/team. Our guide Adam is the best in Uganda. We had a great game drive with him and found lion cubs and and a lion buffalo kill which we did not see in 11 days of Maasai Mara and Serengeti. Adam is a great driver also and was flexible with our schedule. He is a fun guide to have. Robert was quick and accessible with communication and he checked in with us during our trip to inquire about accommodations etc. Of any issues arose, Robert was quick to address them. When we did not get close to the chimps on the first day, Robert and Adam were able to adjust our schedule the next day to fit in a morning of chimp tracking and that is when we saw the entire family up close. We highly recommend the gorge in QE for chimp tracking, it’s a very unique landscape and not highly trafficked, feels like a private experience. We stayed in Buhoma region of Bwindi and tracked 2 hours away in Ruhija which ended up working out for us because the gorilla family was very easy to spot and we saw 2 dominant males fighting for the family. Gorilla permits are quite expensive so it’s best to go with a company/guide that’s experienced. We also had great lodging during our trip. We are an American couple in our late 30’s and would definitely travel with African Adventure Travellers again.

My sister and I were planning to go on a Safari to Murchison Falls in November 2022. During our planning process, Robert Mugabe, the CEO & Senior Travel Consultant was highly responsive to creating an itinerary that was unique to our interests, budget and time frame. He was very efficient, organized and respectful throughout our many communications via email, WhatsApp (video calls, messages).
Unexpectedly, we had to postpone our trip. During the process, Robert was very understanding and gracious about our refund and he was quick to respond to our questions regarding our cancellation. He followed through in ensuring that we received our funds in a timely manner.
Robert's Company reflects integrity and a commitment to their travellers in a personalized manner. My sister and I look forward to rebooking our trip in the near future.

My husband and I have been in Uganda for 6 days. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary was an unbelievable experience, walking very close to some White Rhinos, including a baby. Then, Murchison Falls NP with much wildlife, including Nile Crocodiles and Hippos very close to our boat. In Kibale, we had a great walk in the swamp, with monkeys, flora, and community activities. Also we have gone to a Chimpanzee tracking, where we luckly met a group of about 30 chimps very excited and screaming, breath taking. The big highlight is the Gorilla trekking, an unforgettable experience. And to finish, a relaxing stay with cannoeying at Lake Bunyony.
About African Adventure Travellers, I don't have words to thank them. First of all, Sarah always helped me in the best way possible to organize everything. She booked our permissions in the Gorilla tracking in a amazing group, easier to reach. They have choosen excellent hotels to our stay. All meals we had were incredibly delicious. The car was a land cruiser, very strong, with pop-up roof, air-con to the moments that the road become too dusty, and also, they offer wifi on-board.
She also helped me to prepare a little surprise to my husband's birthday. Everything I needed, she was always very attentious and kind.
About our guide, Augustine is just perfect. Great driver, very funny and kind, extremely polite. He has a huge knowlegde about the places and the wildlife. He always helped us in all moments we needed. He has been an amazing company.
I really recomend African Adventure Travellers to those who want to have a perfect and awesome experience in Uganda.

We had a 5 days trip including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, Queen Elizabeth NP and Kampala with Augustine. All the country, organization and lodges were very nice but Augustine was the most special one. He did his best for us; driving all day, making sure we eat good local food and we are happy. Thanks a lot for everything guys.

We did a 7 days trip in Uganda with African Adventure Travellers and it was an amazing experience. In this time, we visited Kampala, did safari in Murchison Falls, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, gorilla trekking in Bwindi and canoeing on the Lake Bunyonyi. We had great communication with Robert Mugabe for organizing the trip. Afterwards, the driver Patrick was fundamental for the success of the safari. I also have to quote the guide Huzaima for the excelent city tour in Kampala. Both were really friendly and helpful. I truly recommend their services!

We asked them to organize a combined trip between Kenya and Uganda and the overall experience was great. In Kenya they didn’t have many options since they’re based in Uganda but Uganda side was worthy!
We managed to spot the gorillas in Bwindi forest and we learnt a lot about the local culture thanks to the amazing knowledge of our guide/driver Augustine, that show us around. They’re very available to make your trip comfortable, and I really recommend them for a complete tour around Uganda, a country that surprised me for its colors, green areas, amount of wild animals, vibes and welcoming people!

We did a 7 day tour around Uganda with Augustine and it was amazing! We arrived one day earlier than expected in the middle of the night. Augustine was super flexible, came and pick us up in the middle of the night from the airport and gave us a tour around Kampala the next day (was not included in the original plan, but we were early and had spare time).
The rest of the trip was also an unforgettable experience! We did a gorilla trek, chimpanzees trek, game driving, cruise on the Nile,… everything went super smooth and Augustine is a very knowledgable guide so we learned a lot. We also need to mention that he is a very good driver! ;) roads and traffic in Uganda can be crazy but we felt safe in the car.
