We would recommend Roadtrip Africa. The service before and during our trip in Tanzania (many thanks to Laura and Yusuphu) and the car assistance was absolutely perfect. Don't hesitate to book a car, the staff will be there for you anytime. We booked a Landcruiser with rooftop tent. All the equipment was perfect.…

This is a review for RoadTrip Africa's service in Arusha, Tanzania. I rented a Landcruiser with driver for a two day visit to somewhere in Ngorongoro. I enquired and booked a couple of days beforehand. The booking process was simple and efficient, I could pay online with a credit card or at the office/bank in cash. I visited the office beforehand to speak about the details. The whole process of booking, collecting the car and returning was smooth. The supplied driver, Lalashe, was excellent. The car was a 1988 Toyota Landcruiser. I'd say we covered a maximum of 575km (more likely 550km) with 350km of that on high quality paved roads, at the end of the trip it took 101 litres of diesel to fill the tanks to full. So that works out at a realistic fuel economy of 5.75km per litre (probably less). Fuel gauges in the car weren't particularly accurate so impossible to know if the tanks were full to the brim on collection. All in all I'd rent from RoadTrip Africa/Tanzania again. The price and process is transparent, some of the cars might be on the old side (wish I had checked the odometer!) but work reliably. The staff are professional and know their stuff. Their Tanzania website is packed full of useful and honest information, a great resource for anyone planning travels in Tanzania. This comment is not related to RoadTrip Africa - but one thing I would recommend for anyone renting a car with a full tank and needing to return it with a full tank, is when picking up the car take it straight to a filling station and fill it to the brim and get the rental company to pay the bill if it wasn't full.…

During our 8 day Kenya trip we rented a vehicle via Roadtrip Africa, and we choose to do such with a driver/guide also organised by them. We highly recommend this way of exploring the country. Upfront communication with Roadtrip Africa was very swift & clear, the car ('Silversnake'), was exactly what you need to hit the Kenyan roads in all comfort. Having Chris as our driver/guide was really an added value to our trip. His driving skills were really on point, both in the (sometimes rather crazy) Kenyan traffic as in game-driving (don't know what's the hardest). Besides, he was so much more than 'just a driver': we doubted doing this trip with or without a driver-guide because you never know what kind of person you will get, and he spends an important part of the holiday with you, but Chris was just magnificent: always helpful and sincere, always putting his clients' safety and well-being in the first place, and a very pleasant talk about the country, the culture, the way of living, .. Wonderful experience.…
