We (four friends) travelled in December 2020-January 2021 and opted for rafting in Jinja and Gorilla Trek in Buwindi National Park. I processed all our requests through WhatsApp and Ashiraf, was very quick in responding to the itinerary and quotations- the price was reasonable compared to the other tour companies we’d approached. Our tour guide, Frank was a gentlemen who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. The entire (long) trip went very smoothly and effortlessly.
I’d like to thank the entire team for welcoming and showing Uganda- it’s gonna be a memory for a lifetime and we hope to be back soon with them for other adventures.

I honestly had an amazing and unforgettable vacation in Uganda, and I am glad to tell, that Africa Adventure Vacations was and is the best choice for Uganda. And I already made recommendations within my family and friends.
I was a single traveler and made a lot of research by myself prior searching for companies, who offered tours like that. So my main purpose were the Mountain gorillas, but for sure, I was happy to have some other activities besides that as well.
When I made my request, I was super happy of receiving an answer of Robert the same day.
He never got tired by answering my questions, which made it easy for me to decide. Thank you very much, Robert, for making everything so easy and smooth for me.
When I landed in Entebbe, I hoped to have an unforgettable journey. And now, since I am back home, i can literally tell - it was really "BEST OF UGANDA". I had a lot of fun with my driver guide Arafath and all the information he provided all the way, on our 1600km we made within those 10 days.
For sure, there are sometimes long distances to cover, but I never got tired, as the landscape was so beautiful.
Valleys, so much green, banana and tea plantations. I just loved it, to stare outside the window.
From national Parks, Rhino Sanctuary, Boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel (where you really see wildlife at it´s best) to the unforgettable experience in the "impenetrable Forest Bwindi" where I visited the silent giants, called mountain gorillas in their natural habit.
It was unforgettable, and still gives me goosebumps by just thinking of it.
The market is very competitive...but your journey lives with the driver and information you get.
This is why I highly recommend Africa Adventure Vacations, as they will do everything, to make
your trip an amazing experience and to reach all your expectations and even beyond that.

We have travelled extensively around the globe but we have never experienced so many changes of flight times before embarking on a new adventure. Robert was very flexible in changing our itinerary several times following Qatar Airways flight changes. He also helped us in checking with immigration the status of our e-visa application and made all the necessary bookings of accomodation and activities. Our guide
Khuzair was great: he is an amazing driver, always very careful with our needs, making our trip a special one. He did his best also in taking with us rangers from the National Parks in order to spot much better the animals. The Land cruiser he drove was in perfect condition during our trip making our roadtrip amazing from start to finish. Together with Robert they kept in touch with Isunga lodge on our first day in Uganda because we were arriving late and they wanted to be sure that we have dinner after so many hrs spent on the planes and in the airport. Moreover after an average dinner at Elephant Hab Lodge they spoke with the manager and the food was improved the second night.
Changes made by our government related to the max time needed to take the PCR test were communicated to Robert and the testing day in Mbarara was changed to allow us to have the test done max 48 hrs before the flight departure.
Robert did his best to choose a location much easier to hike for gorilla trekking (Ruhija) that allowed us to see the gorillas in less than 2 hrs from the moment we left our lodge. (Nkouringo family)
The horseback riding safari at Lake Mburo was organized by Robert and changed by Khuzair from the last day to 2 days before our day of departure in order to allow us plenty of time to get to Equator and further to Entebbe airport.
Khuzair is a great English French speaking guide, great driver and now a good friend.
Special thanks to Robert and Khuzair for making this trip an unforgettable experience!

Our 5 days trip in Uganda with Africa Adventure Vacations was a perfect choice. Special thanks to Robert, who from the beginning was very helpful and responsive, which allowed us having a memorable and confortable experience, including meeting us at the airport, fluid communicatiion, organized schedule and arranging our Covid test on time. Our highest gratitud to our guide and driver Frank, who was simply brilliant and his friendliness and vast knowledge of wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth NP, Bwindi NP, Bunyonyi Lake, Chimpazee and Gorilla trekking, exceded even our highest expectations. During our game drives with Frank we had the chance to watch the tree sleeping Lions, the pray eating lions, leopards gazing Cobs, elephants, herds of cobs, buffalos, hippos, pumbas. Our eco friendly safari lodges were always comfortable, with extremely friendly staff and delicious meals, always surrounded by nature. Our best experience was in Pumba Lodge and Ride for a Woman Lodge. Overall, we really enjoyed traveling with Frank and discovering much of the countryside by road over the 5 day trip and he made us feel always safe and confortable. As we had a real adventure, we highly recommend Africa Adventure Vacations ’s exceptional services to anyone.

We're just back from our honeymoon in Uganda. We'd been planning our honeymoon for about a year through African Adventure Vacations. Robert was great at suggesting an itinerary and customising it to suit our needs. Also answering our many questions! We arranged everything through them.
Our guide Frank (who we highly recommend asking for) met us at the airport and from that point on was our expert guide (and fixer) to the country. He is really passionate and knowledgeable about Uganda and did a fantastic job in spotting all the wildlife whilst driving us around. He even managed to spot us the Big Five on our first day's game drive.
The hotels / camps suggested were all of a high quality. We enjoyed the variety of different styles of accommodation.
Highlight of the trip was definitely seeing the Mountain Gorilla's in Bwindi. Frank used his connections to set us up with a great family group of gorilla's that had two silverbacks (very unusual!) and two infants. It was such an amazing experience.
The whole trip was out of this world and lived up to all my hopes and dreams (I've dreamt of going to Uganda since I was a kid). It's given us so many amazing memories to last a lifetime.
I would definitely recommend African Adventure Vacations as an operator and 100% ask for Frank as a guide! We felt very lucky indeed!

If you’re considering going on Safari in Uganda, don’t hesitate and book your tour with Africa Adventure Vacations! Robert took care of all of our arrangements and planning prior to our arrival from USA. He maintained excellent communication with my husband and accommodated any changes to the itinerary we requested. Upon arrival we received a nice welcome and met our driver and guide Najib!
8 days on the road with Najib was pleasurable and adventurous, he is the best driver, person, and nature enthusiast! Ask for Najib, you won’t regret it! Together we experienced Uganda by visiting 4 national parks seeing Rhinos, Chimps, Gorillas, Giraffes, Elephants, Hippos, Lions, and Buffalos to name a few! Bring a pair of binoculars, how I wish I had brought a pair! We also took a ride down the Nile River toward Murchison Falls-the most powerful waterfall in the world. We visited a banana plantation and tasted banana juice/wine/beer/gin! We learned about Ugandan coffee and roasted it with one of the best coffee growers in the area. Everyday was a new experience which I will remember for all of my life.
If your ready for a lifetime experience, then make it happen! I’ll go back to Uganda again and without a doubt will have Robert and Najib help in planning my trip. 🤗

Me and my boyfriend took a 5-Days tour with mountain gorilla, chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari. We had been to a safari in Kenya the week before and the one in Uganda was three times more expensive, but we knew that one reason for that was because of the cost for the permit to see the mountain gorillas. (700 usd for the permit only).
I will start with this: it was an amazing tour and definitely worth the money. Ceasar, our guide, was the best guide I ever had. He was professional, kind and shared a lot of information about Uganda as a country, personal experience, knowledge and fun fact which made our hours in the car interesting.
It was a lot of driving between destinations mixed up with stops along the way. I didn't mind the driving in the country because it was so green and beautiful! It also helped that the tour was organised so well. For example after the gorilla trekking we had one night at lake bunyondi, and the relaxing on that great hotel (rock resort) after the trekking was lovely. Ceasar also told us in advance what to expect and how long the drives should be, so you always knew what to expect and how many stops you had each day. But if you don't like spending time in a car, this is something you should think about before booking the tour.
After being in Kenya, the food on the accommodation (we had a budget one) was great! So I would say over above average, African standard.
We didn't see as much animals during the safari as we did in Kenya. With that said, we took a short tour and couldn't go the north side of the country with the best park for seeing animals. If you had a longer tour, maybe that would be different.
The only bad thing with the tour was our boat ride on Kazinga channel. The guide on the boat took us to close to the animals and the boat touched one hippo that was under the water.
In conclusion I loved our time in Uganda. I would definitely recommend the tour - and would highly recommend to ask for Ceasar as your guide. He definitely gave the tour "the little extra" that you always seek.

We highly recommend Africa Adventure Vacations. We didn’t have much lead time for planning our trip, but that was no problem for them.
They were very accommodating and thoughtful to what we most wanted to see or experience, even getting us gorilla trekking permits, etc. Robert created several itineraries as I asked questions via email to come up with the perfect 5 night / 6 day safari and gorilla trekking experience.
Stanley our driver was perfect because he not only helped us see all the animals we wanted to see, and more… but he could help spot and identify birds for my birding daughter.
It was important to me to find a local company so the money we were spending supported the community. Wiring the money was probably the most nerve wrecking thing, but it all worked out as promised. But I learned it’s best to wire in the US funds quoted (or whatever funds quoted in your itinerary) as the exchange rates get weird and costs more than you expect. We selected moderately priced accommodations, and were very happy with all the lodges and food.
We’d highly recommend working with them!

We used AAV for our 16 day family trip to Uganda, and can recommend them without reservation. From the first contact, Robert was very responsive and flexible to tailor the trip to our wishes. The trip itself was perfectly organized, and everything worked our exactly as planned, including two chimpanzee trackings, and the 4 hour gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi.
Many thanks to our guide Caesar, who always kept us safe and entertained :) He was always punctual, and full of information about the environment and Ugandan culture.

we booked a 4 day birding safari to Murchison Falls with Africa Adventure Vacations. Communication with Robert leading up to the trip was efficient and straightforward. Amendment of the tour program was no problem. The trip itself was fantastic: apart from amazing places we visited, the tour was well organized with fine accommodation, food and above all an excellent birding guide named Arshely Brian. Arshely was absolutely fabulous - exceptionally knowledgable about not only birds, but also other wildlife and flora. He made sure we were well taken care of. And he was fun to hang out with too. So all in all, both tour agency and guide are highly recommended.
