We had an amazing experience with TrueVine - a team with the right blend of Experience, Energy and Enthusiasm. It started with the trip planning - very diligent and meticulous, and responsive communication. Despite the short notice, all permits were in place ... excellent choice of lodging, in line with our taste. Almost every detail was taken care of - ensuring that lodges provided us a good veg spread, ensuring the distance from the lodge to the trek start point is minimal. They even went the extra mile - sorting out some last minute visa challenges we had with Uganda immigration, taking extra care when one of us fell ill briefly - they infact tweaked the itinerary to ensure we didnt miss anything. A special mention for our driver-guide, Patrick. A terrific combination of expert knowlegde, safe driving, people networks and friendly disposition. During our drives between National Parks , he would talk about the respective kingdoms, their natural resources , language, people etc. while in the national park, all about the plants / trees / animals / birds and the whole ecosystem. And the local food and experiences that he went out of the way to organise. Thank you Douglas, Patrick and the TrueVine for creating this dream holiday for us. We'll be counting on them for our trip to Congo.

My wife and I visited Bwindi earlier this year and we still talk about the 60 minutes we spent with a huge family of gorillas. Although we had done plenty of reading before the trip, nothing can quite prepare you for the incredible experience of being that close to such majestic animals. We flew into Kigali and crossed the border before driving to a small village which served as our base for 2 nights. True Vine Safaris were brilliant to deal with. They are friendly, trustworthy, well-organised and take great pride in their role promoting and securing a future for these gorillas. They love what they do and it shows. I could not provide a bigger recommendation. This company are incredible. Get in touch with them and let them organise the trip of a lifetime for you. You won't regret it.

It is hard to describe the trek to see the gorillas, it went so far beyond any expectations I had! Gorilla trekking was actually at the end of our trip however I was very impressed from the first minute we were picked up until the very last minute they dropped us off to start our journey home six days later. Uganda is an incredibly beautiful and diverse country and the guides and drivers, everyone, seemed intent on making our trip perfect. They were intelligent, kind, and extremely informative. The trip was so great and I spoke so highly of it that my husband (who was unable to go) and I are going back to East Africa soon and will be using Truevine Safaris again to act as our guides. They are that good!

Visiting the gorillas was on my bucket list and what an amazing experience to sit with them only a few meters away from me. We were entertained by the 1 year old baby gorilla climbing on her mother and other gorillas, and swinging on vines. The walk mostly downhill to the gorillas was a little difficult but climbing the mountain after seeing them was a huge challenge for me but I made it and am proud of the certificate I received. This excursion was a 70th birthday present to myself! Fantastic! Thank you Douglas & Emmauel for taking me here and looking after me so well.
