We had a wonderful day 4 day experience with bamboo encounters doing gorilla trekking, visiting the Elisabeth national park and doing chimpanzee trekking. We were accompanied by Fred who is a safe driver, good explainer and most importantly a wonderful person to share such a nice trip with. The communication with Edison before and after the trip was great, very clear organization and quick answers to all kinds of questions? We recommend Bamboo ecotours very much!

Bamboo Ecotours and our guide, Godfrey, in particular went ABOVE AND BEYOND what we could have hoped for our Rwanda-Uganda safari! The planning stage with Edison was convenient, informative, accommodating and professional. He was so easy to communicate with, answered all of our questions, and accommodated all of our specific requests to truly create a unique safari experience for us. All of the lodges selected for our safari were great, and each offered unique opportunities to explore (some had traditional foods, live music and cultural performances, canoe trips etc…) On the tour, our guide Godfrey was beyond AMAZING!! He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive and responsive to our needs. Thanks to him, we were able to experience way more than originally advertised in our itinerary, all the while learning about Rwandan and Ugandan culture, landscapes, and wildlife. For example, he was often able to cater our trip to include more birdwatching opportunities, and introduced us to local delicacies. On a personal level, Godfrey is so kind, and was a pleasure to be with over the course of the week. Would highly recommend Godfrey and Bamboo Ecotours for any trip to Uganda or Rwanda!!

Edison exchanged many whatsapps and emails to customise my tour of Western Uganda. There is so much to see, it was hard to squeeze everything into just 6 days. I had a private tour with Jackson. I did a safari tour in Tanzania the following week and much preferred the quality of the tour with Bamboo Ecotours. Jackson made sure to ask what I was interested in and looked into doing side excursions at an additional cost. Even doing the budget option, the lodges were quite nice. It was only on the final night (5th night) that there was no power in the whole area, but no fault of Bamboo Ecotours and I paid the budget price. There are a lot of tour operators out there so I can't speak to the other ones, but was really quite please with Edison's responsiveness and competitive cost. One of my nights was even upgraded to the mid-tier option and was really quite nice. Edison also prepared a long agenda, so I knew exactly what I'd be doing every day. When traveling in Uganda (and Tanzania for that matter), always have quite a bit of cash ready (USD or Shilling) for tips. Tipping cullture has become quite big it seems in East Africa and although it's always "optional" it's often quite hard to say no. Although I was on my own, I joined larger groups for the gorilla and chimp trekking - this was as expected - and your seperate guides also request tips, as do the scouts / rangers who find the gorillas. Can't recommend Bamboo Ecotours and team enough and would definitely consider them next time I'm in East Africa

Thank you so much for sharing this comprehensive review on the 6-day tour you booked with Bamboo Ecotours. We try our best to be responsive to our client's requests. The campsite where you stayed the 5th night now has solar power to lighten the main building! -Edison & team.
