My friend and I went for a great 3-day trip to the South West of Uganda with Home to Africa in October 2020 to hike Mount Sabinyo. We planned the trip at short notice and Home To Africa was very responsive and quick in organising everything for us, including the required permit for the hike. Our guide-driver Karim drove us safely the long way to Kisoro and back and shared with us his vast knowledge about the Virunga volcanoes. During the hike to the three peaks of Mount Sabinyo we were accompanied by a group of very experienced ranger-guides. Reaching the third peak at 3669 metres and being in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC at the same time was an unforgettable experience. After a 9-hour hike we were glad to arrive back at our accommodation Travellers Rest in Kisoro where we enjoyed a hot shower, a delicious dinner and the hot-water bottles that were put in our beds so that we would not feel cold during the chilly night. Throughout the whole trip our driver-guide, the staff at Travellers Rest and the rangers at Mghahinga National Park adhered to all covid prevention measures (observed social distancing, were wearing face masks, performed temperature checks and regular sanitizing). Thank you so much, Home To Africa, for organising this amazing and unforgettable trip for us!…

“Home to Africa” is an excellent company. From initial contact to the end of our 17 day Uganda tour the organisation and delivery were faultless. Hedmond replied promptly to all queries, discussed the itinerary in detail and was always happy to consider and make amendments. Accommodation was good and met, and sometimes exceeded, our expectations. Benon, our guide, must take the credit for our wonderful experiences in this beautiful and varied country. On game drives his enthusiasm and love for his country was obvious; early starts meant that we were usually the first vehicle on the road, he happily responded to our wish to sit and watch rather than to rush to the next sighting, he was informative and always keen to find answers to our more obscure questions. As he became more relaxed in our company his warm personality and sense of humour came to the fore. Our safety was always a priority and his advice in terms of the more strenuous activities was invaluable. Thank you, Benon, for making this trip so memorable. Highlights of the trip were game viewing in Kidepo National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (it certainly lives up to its name!) and beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to return and see more of this “Pearl of Africa” – in the company of Benon, of course.…

The trip was absolutely amazing, it was beyond our expectations. We did the 8 day trip in Uganda, with gorilla trekking and words cannot describe the feeling when you see all these beautiful animals up so close! the booking process was nice and easy, Hedmond was great help and gave us lots of tips and alternatives in terms of things we want to see and do, and where we want to stay. the actual tour was amazing, our guide Derrick was excellent, very warm and friendly, his passion for wildlife was amazing and it showed though his knowledge of all the animals and birds, he stopped the car when he saw something we didnt or missed, and tell us exactly what it was and about it, he literally knew everything we asked and much more, and he was a funny guy to be with! Both Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking along with bush walks to see Giraffes/Zebras and boat trip of the Kazinga channel to see a groups of Elephants were just some of the highlights. Most of the accommodation the tour group offer were unreal, the lodges in some of these places are just amazing as the views were something else! Would recommend Isunda Lodge, Parkview Safari Lodge, Bakinda Lodge and Arcadia Lodge Buyonyi for some very very impressive views!! 10 out of 10 for me. Best trip I have been on. I would highly recommend this tour group, and Derrick our guide as it was be a nice and easy process based on your needs and wants for the trip, and you will have such an amazing time on the tour with him! Thanks again!! P & M xx…

My wife and I went on a tour of Uganda relying on Home to Africa and I must say that it was a happy choice. During the preparation of the tour they were very quick to answer our questions and very willing to meet our requests including that of carrying out a day of rafting on the Nile. Upon arrival their guide was waiting for us, Mr. Derrick, an exquisite person, very nice, helpful and at the same time highly professional. The lodges that had booked for us turned out to be even higher than our expectations and, in any case, among the best in the area for the range we chose. The whole tour took place on time and in the best way. We have only one thing to say: Thanks to our guide Derrick and Home to Africa for the wonderful experience that made us live.…

Home to Africa, and our guide Benon, were wonderful to deal with every step of the way. Home to Africa was very responsive and helpful in creating a 15-day custom tour for the two of us. Our accommodation (moderate) was excellent throughout. Getting to learn from Benon was a real highlight of the trip because he has a great knowledge of animals, and a lot of passion for showing Ugandan’s beauty to newcomers. He is an excellent guide, and you can count yourself lucky if you’re on one of his tours. Murchison Falls, the Kazinga channel, and gorilla trekking in Bwindi were a few major highlights, but every stop was enjoyable. We ended our trip in Rwanda for a quick two days to see Kigali’s sights, including the Rwandan Genocide Memorial. Our guide in Rwanda - Cyprian - was also great. It was wonderful to be able to see both countries in one trip, and Home to Africa was excellent and reliable throughout. …
