We had a fantastic trip with our tour guide Francis, who was friendly, fun, and reliable- often sharing his wealth of knowledge of the landscape and wildlife. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time and even searched in local stores to help us find a camera battery charger we needed. The trip was well organised and ensured we saw the spectacular highlights of Uganda. The transport was very comfortable and allowed us to quickly and safely move around and have the versatility to go on safaris. We were very impressed by the accommodation selections of the tour, our favourite being the Bweza lodge. Thank you for everything, we would highly recommend!

Absolutely every element of my 7-day trip was incredibly amazing! I've been to some fantastic locations before, but this tops the list and Kajie Tours was the key piece in making it so successful. From the beginning when I was considering the safari to taking off at the end of the trip, they were always ready to fully answer my many questions, make suggestions for the best possible outcome, and ensure everything went smoothly (a particularly difficult goal during pandemic times). Ronald, my guide, was perfect! He was a wealth of knowledge about everything in Uganda, including the history, current trends, wildlife, destinations, and more. I was solo on this trip, so having a great guide is even more important - truly a total professional and a pleasure to spend time with. He was always ready to be companionable during the trip and at destinations, but also let me have space to explore alone (or take a nap) when needed. Anytime I mentioned being interested in something, he made it came true - from finding a chameleon to trying a number of particular local foods/drinks. I couldn't have wished for a better guide. Regarding the trip itself, we did chimp trekking in Kibale, gorilla trekking in Bwindi, and game drives/boat rides in Queen Elizabeth & Lake Mburo. Highly recommend trying to fit as many game drives in as possible, especially in the early morning and late evening. All the accommodations were wonderful (in the thick of nature) and the food was always great (and fresh!). It's worth it to get some freshly picked/roasted/brewed coffee and to try the fresh banana gin. Wholeheartedly recommend the trip with Kajie Safaris to anyone thinking about visiting Uganda!!!

We are a middle-class American family of 5. This was a lifetime dream of mine to go and see the wild gorillas. I did not think we could afford it. While looking through reviews I found Ronald of Kajie safaris. On a whim, I emailed him to see how much it would cost, thinking there was no way I could afford it. Surprise! Ronald worked with our budget to come up with a 13 day Uganda safari trip. We stayed in mid-level lodges with excellent food and had a wonderful time. I was hesitant to send so much money to someone I met on the internet overseas but Ronald was honest and trust worthy. He was with us the entire time (not an easy feat to keep your cool when 3 teens and 2 parents argue a bunch) and made the trip extra special. When he found out we loved chocolate, we always had a chocolate supply. He stopped and got us sugar cane and real Uganda coffee one day to try. He arranged some of the meals to include Ugandan foods we wanted to try. He came to meet us after the Chimp trek instead of having us walk back all the way to the start of the trek (and believe me, we were far, far away from that start point!). There were little things like this throughout the entire trip that Ronald didn't have to do, but went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time. We aren't familiar with Uganda money and would have been easily taken advantage of but Ronald looked at all the bills (we had to pay for sodas, juices and laundry) and made sure they were accurate. On one bill at a lodge, he felt it was too high and asked that it be lowered, which it was. He helped us with money conversions and tipping advice. Ronald was also a wealth of knowledge about the animals and the country. He never seemed to tire of our endless questions. One day when my husband and I were too tired to do anything, the kids were bored so he took them out to a neighboring town to get pizza and milkshakes. He was the perfect babysitter and they started to refer to him as "Uncle Ronald". That says volumes! The lodges liked us to order breakfast the night before. Sometimes we were too tired to wait to go to bed so Ronald took care of all the ordering when all we wanted to do was lie down. Ronald seems to know everyone and isn't afraid to make new friends. I am sure his networking got us the best deals on hotels and allowed us to see things we probably wouldn't have on a normal safari with a disinterested guide, especially lions! We went on 2 gorilla treks, a chimp trek, a few game drives (we saw Lions! Ronald arranged for a lion tracker to go with us where we saw lions AND leopards! Another time, Ronald stopped and asked a ranger where the lions were, and we were able to see a mom, dad and 2 cubs resting! We saw about 11 lions and 2 leopards on three separate occassions ). When I asked other tourists about seeing lions, the other tourists always said they didn't see any. Ronald was the lion whisperer. I think I could have asked to see a penguin and Ronald would have found a way. We had a wonderful time with Ronald. I was a bit hesitant about having to spend 13 days with a stranger but by the end of the trip Ronald was family. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a safari, regardless of whether it's 2 days or 2 months. He was even available while we transited back home by email/text, in case we needed something last minute. We miss you Ronald! Best wishes, the Music Family.
