Lumley beach is so alive now, the streets are well lit, so many restaurants by the boardwalk, it has really improved a lot, you can enjoy a nice walk, Sierra Leonians are so friendly, its very safe..

This is a nice respite to have at the edge of Freetown. Lovely to walk along, a bit too much development happening to threaten the natural environment. I miss the ice cream shops!

I paid a visit to this beach with friends and totally enjoyed myself. It has all the attractions of a beach including the electrifying atmosphere that makes one forget himself. This is one of the greatest tourist sites in Freetown and I recommend it to every visitor to the City.

The stretch has a line of different range of hotels (budget, luxury and a mix) and bars overlooking the sea (seafoods, Chinese, Filipino European and local). Sunset is just great and there is a nearby landing beach where you can actually buy freshly brought-in fish. The beach front is quite clean except for periods where the tidal wave brings in lots of sea weed, but in all it’s a lovely place for relaxation and to share fun moments with family and friends. Several spots for free parking were also available and most of the facilities actually had free internet. It’s worth visiting

Not sure which beach a lot of other reviewers have been to but it certainly isn't this one. It's filthy pure and simple. The rubbish problem on the beach wouldn't be so bad of it wasn't for the fact that it's medical waste that has been thrown in to the sea to be washed up on this beach. If Freetown really wants to market itself to tourists then it needs to sort this out
