Sandaga Market was very fun, lively, and colorful. I purchased a lot of beautiful items here. Definitely do not go with the price given. It is OKAY to haggle down. Not too far down, but don't overpay. Don't pay 30,000 CFA for a dress. LOL....More

You cannot come to Dakar and not go to Sandaga. It is the market downtown where you can find all kind of articles that you are looking for. Be careful of pickpockets and people trying to sell you fake stuff. But at the end you...More

Be ready to haggle! I loved every part of it! It is hard if you are not used to it, but just be prepared. Not sure that this should be a tourist destination, but it is good to get a feel for Senegalese day-to-day living.

This is a big crowded, chaotic market. On the upside, you can find bout anything your looking for there. Clothes, baskets, carvings, masks...you name it, its probably there. You can get a good price too if you haggle. Keep in mind when negotiating, there is...More

Sandaga is a big, bustling market, similar to many markets I have been to in West African countries, but if you are in Dakar, its a fun place to go to experience a facet of Senegalese life and culture...or to pick up some souvenirs to...More
