Go past the rather ragged set up - rent a kayak and paddle!

I go often to Oceanium - to kayak. Have never used their diving facilities. What i definitely DO recommend Oceanium for - is the kayak rental. It is very inexpensive (much cheaper than anywhere else). The kayaks are open top so you will get wet. But they are wide, easy for beginners. You can take a kayak - and just... More

(Just to preface my review, the picture of oceanium is not accurate in the least!) The Oceanium has both kayaking and scuba diving available. Because it is more expensive (and I am not terribly interested in it), I have only gone kayaking. I love kayaking so I try to go about once a month. The people there are helpful and... More

I've never dived here even though I've been coming here for years whenever passing through Dakar. It's a very casual place to sit outdoors and have a Flag beer or a bissap with a view of Goree and small fishing boats. Beware: it's a bit hard to find but worth the effort..

Visited the place and looks like its under construction activities there is a lady who was at the outside bar with a sign offering meals but hard to find the charm in sitting in the open with construction all round the diving cabin/team seems to work but again the surroundings dont inspire confidence was there for barely an hour. May... More

I have been there a long time ago, but just wanted to say that I had an amazing diving experience to this friendly diving center, few dives on Goree or deep wreck in the ocean were all beautiful.

We are not divers but I stayed at the Oceanium while on a business trip last year and, having enjoyed my time there, I came back with my wife and children. The place is quite basic but extremely well located, the staff very helpful (Aita is just amazing), and... well, we just had a great holiday!

Senegal is one of the most visited countries in western Africa. My country is very colourful, particularly in its fashions. Senegalese people take a pride in their long and patterned traditional clothes. But we also embrace the modern; in the capital of Dakar, there are many dance clubs.

Oceanium was very prompt at responding to e-mails to schedule a dive and had decently maintained equipment to rent. Dive briefings were very cursory but otherwise the dive guides friendly and efficient. Viz was not great and we did a deep wreck in water about 18 C in winter (Jan.) Best viz and temperatures are in the summer but then... More

A friend and I took out a two person kayak for half the day, and it was superb. All the kayaks and paddles are in good or great shape, and they have life jackets too. If there isn't too much wind, you can make it to Goree and back without too much trouble, but it's also nice to just leisurely... More
