These guys did a very good job on 1 days notice. They were very responsive to my inquiry. When there were questions about paying with a credit card, they deferred to my understanding which I greatly appreciated. These guys can be trusted.( I would always confirm what form of payment you are using in general during your stay in Rwanda). My driver Emanuel was a very genuine and nice man and on the way back from the park, he pulled over a couple of times to let me take pictures. IN retrospect, I may have stayed in a hotel closer to the park versus coming from Kigali because it is a 2 hour ride and so they are picking you up to take you to the park at around 4:30-5:00 am. Plus if you stay in a place near the park, you can get a feel for the local culture more so than you will get in Kigali. Taking nothing away from Kigali because it's a great city and you are going to see the Genocide museum so will get to see it anyway.
Plan to be walking through mud and through brush that will have small thorns. It also can rain very quickly so I can't emphasize enough to over prepare. You can then scale back if you need to. I was making fun of the people that appeared to be overdressed, but I was wrong.
Would wear the following at least:
-Boots that you would be okay getting wet and muddy
-Thick pants
-Hat to protect you from sun
-Light rain/waterproof jacket
-large bottle of water
-couple snacks/bananas/protein bars
-Tip $($20 for 2 guides to share, $5 for my driver, $5 for guy carrying rifle and $10 for a porter to carry your bag which is completely unnecessary) They also have some people performing music/dancing and selling souvenirs that you will want to tip/buy)
You don't really need to do multiple days. One day of visiting is sufficient and it will take the whole day. It is very safe and informative. I have been on a number of excursions and this was one of the best. You cannot miss it.

My wife and I visited Akagera National Park for a two day safari. The tour company (Let's Go Tours) were very organised - I made the arrangements from London before travelling. They picked us up from our hotel and arranged for us to stay in the beautful Akagera Game Lodge. Our driver Innocence was very knowledgeable and impressively spotted a crocodile sunning itself from some distance. We had a lovely boat ride on Lake Ihema and drove around the park for several hours, spotting elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes and many other animals. I would certainly recommend Let's Go Tours.

We have memories for a lifetime after our superb trip gorilla trekking with Lets Go Tours Rwanda on 14 May. They are a very well-run company with extremely organised and efficient staff (owner Vincent Ngarambe, Alex and Gerald), who offer competitive rates to see the gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park. They were very quick to respond to all our questions on email at all hours of the day and evening, and helped us prepare properly so we were appropriately equipped for the trek (take waterproofs and wear walking boots). Nothing was too much trouble - they reserved our gorilla passes for us well in advance before we had paid (as the Rwanda Tourism Board issue only 80 passes a day).
Our safe driver Gerald, who spoke English fluently, picked us up at 4.30 am and drove us to the meeting point where we met our small group around 7am. Gerald gave us lots of useful information on Rwanda, and even organised a delicious packed lunch (avocado samosas) which we took with us!
We were very fortunate to have Mr D as our knowledgeable guide, who briefed us over a cup of sensational Rwandan coffee about the trek and Pablo's gorilla family with 5 silverbacks that we would see. We trekked 1000 m up to 3,100 m through the beautiful Volcanoes National Park where we spent a magical hour watching the gorillas eat, play and interact with one another. We were able to get very close to the gorillas, thanks to Mr D and his excellent trackers who know the families' movements in the Park. We met up with our driver Gerald around 5 pm after such a rewarding day, and celebrated over tea at Hotel Muhabura where Diane Fossey used to stay before heading back to Kigali.
I would not hesitate to recommend Lets Go Tours Rwanda, who were honest, helpful and reliable, and they went out of their way to ensure we had a trip to remember for many years to come!

I had two separate tours through them in June 2019 and January 2020. The first one was outstanding, the second was not great. The vehicle broke down on the drive to Volcanoes park and the driver showed up drunk one morning to pick up our group. They were responsive to find a new driver within 2 hours, but did not make any compensation for the two inconveniences encountered. Overall, they are fine but there may be better options in Rwanda.

My wife and I (we are from The Netherlands, Eindhoven area) visited Rwanda during the week from 6 - 13 february in 2016.
We wanted to see mountain gorilla's in Volcanoes National Park and ofcourse see some of the country.
First we contacted a well known lodge in the area (Gorilla Mountain view lodge) and asked them to advise us. They contacted Lets go tours in Kigali and the people of Lets go tours contacted us in return.
After we mailed them our specific wishes Vincent Ngarambe (the owner of the company) and his collegue Alex send us an excellent itinerary. Making sure that the required permits can be reserved we payed the amount (bank transfer) at the moment we agreed with the proposed itinerary. Permits are not cheap but we noticed that the money is well-spent and the local people are involved in protecting the mountain gorilla's.
After arriving we were picked up from Kigali airport in the middle of the night by Innocent, our excellent driver and guide who stayed with us during the week. Innocent did all he could to accomodate us and help us out wherever necessary.
Staying in touch with Vincent Ngarambe or the main office in Kigali made adjustments of the program quite easy when needed.
We stayed in Kigali the first night and visited the Genocide memorial, which describes and shows what happened before, during and after the genocide that took place.
Rwanda is a very nice country with a booming economy. We would advise you to go there and at least see the mountain gorilla's in the North (but the country has much more to offer). Going up there and visiting the gorilla families is quite an experience. We visited two different families (Titus and Kwitonda group) on two subsequent days and on the third day the Golden monkeys as well.
We also visited Lake Kivu and Akagera National Park and saw some of the country. Rwanda seems to develop very fast and is turning into a modern economy very fast. The people we met were friendly and hard working.
Lets go tours is a reliable company and we fully recommend them to travellers interested in wildlife (and culture).

Highly recommended! Very knowledgeable and helpful with all aspects of research, planning, and booking your trip. With a friend, I planned a self-drive vacation, and was helped in ensuring the two week itinerary was possible, booking the lodging, recommending car rental agencies and securing our trekking permits--all hassle free. I dropped by the pleasant office in the heart of Kigali and was warmly welcomed. You are in good hands with Lets Go Tours Rwanda!

I contacted various companies for my gorilla trip, I found Jacqueline at Lets Go tours to have proposed the best use of my 6 night tour. I did not want to be moving hotel every day but wanted to see do as many activities as possible, so 2 hotels with 2 nights and 2 hotels with 1 night was a good compromise. She also organised to go into Uganda for the gorilla tracking to save $900. My only comment would be that it would have been more convenient and cheaper to have been able to pay by credit card on line. Emmanuel picked me up from the airport at 9 pm and took me to a hotel in Kigali for one night before the tour started. He is obviously a very experienced tour guide who knows many people after doing the job for some 10 years. I am not a good passenger in a car but found his driving excellent and safe. He did everything he could to make my holiday enjoyable. We had to change the last day a little because of my slight ill health and the President if Zambia’s visit in Kigali.
So thank you Emanuel and Jacqueline for a great holiday

My experience with Lets Go Tours Rwanda was of a 2-day trip to Volcanoes Park from Kigali, in order to climb Mt Bisoke. The driver, Innocent, was a treasure, knowledgeable and thinking on his feet. Patrick, from the office, was available on the phone in case he was needed. Innocent drove me around Kigali both at the start and end of the trip, showing different neighborhoods and buildings. The only glitch was at Kinigi Guesthouse where they asked me to pay for food while it was supposed to be included in the package. It got fixed with a phone call to Patrick. Also they were unable to brew decent tea as they apparently were using lukewarm water for the purpose - yes in desperation I gave them my own teabags but it did not help. The possibility of stopping at the Guesthouse after the hike was great, to take a shower and have lunch. I highly recommend their mushroom soup. Walking around Kinigi was fun, landscapes of Northern Rwanda are amazing and the hike, crossing different zones of vegetation, was great too. Highly recommended!

We got Lets go recommended by the loxge we wanted to go to for gorilla trekking. They did not disappoint us. We booked by mail and phone contact. Payment by bank transfer in usd. We got picked up at the airport and there was a lot of flexibility around our program. The safari car would carry us wherever we wanted. We opted out of the genocide museum and saw a crafts market and gallery instead.
All our expectations were met. Will use them again.
