Lots to learn from this Memorial, not only about the Rwandan Genocide but also other genocides that happened in different countries.

If you need to choose just one place to visit in Kigali, this Memorial must be your choice. The visit begins with a 10 minute video (and I was already crying after that). Then, you get inside the building and see a lot of information and art about Rwanda's history, since before the Europeans got there until nowadays. At the... More

Absolutely an amazing life changing experience. Very informative and interesting. The whole memorial is extremely well done. I would not recommend children to visit.

This is quite a place that I have no words for. It's horrible to know that something like this happened barely 20 years ago in our lifetime. The memorial was very well done and I highly recommend it for anyone who is traveling to Kigali.

I believe, especially if you are traveling with children or perhaps would have difficulty stomaching the more horrific details of the genocide, that it would be better to visit this site than Ntarama or Nyamata. It clearly catalogs the details of the genocide and it is emotionally haunting but without the graphic, visceral qualities of the visit

Great coffee and snacks. Open aired with comfortable seating. I live in Kigali and when guests visit I allow them time to see the memorial and meet for a coffee here afterwords.

As expected this an emotionally bruising encounter. Very worthwhile, but fair warning, some of the images and exhibits are horrific. Very well handled memorial to the hundreds of thousands who died.

Great way to educate yourself on the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Its free to go in, the audio guide isn't free. Put aside a few hours to go through the multiple exhibits.

If traveling to Kigali, this museum is a must see. Through detailed history, pictures, mass graves, beautiful memorial gardens and more, this experience is unlike any other. It is very educational and helps you to better understand not only the history of this amazing country, but also helps you to appreciate the remarkable recovery efforts that have been made to... The Memorial of the Genocide is the final home for over 250,000 victims and an exhibition of the history leading to the genocide, its events and aftermath. Allow some hours to read all the information and observe the rich collection of photos and other material. Be prepared for a really emotionally intense experience during your visit and after it. There's... More
