Just back from Uganda and Rwanda, in and out of Kigale I too used Gorilla Trek Africa for 10 day trip. Nelson was so helpful in arranging what I wanted to do. I also highly recommend going to Kibale national park to see Chimpanzees that are also hibituated to tourists. There are a total of nine different primates there, some nocturnal. You need permit for this also.

We stayed at a lodge in Volcanoes National Park, near the Gorilla Trek entrance, called Da Vinci, and I think it was about $150 USD per night. Our accommodation was a private bungalow with bed/ bath, sitting room, fireplace. The permit cost in Rwanda is now $1500 USD per per per day. The permit cost in Uganda is now $700 USD per person per day and one can find similar lodging in Bwindi National Park. The trekking involved is not the sort that I'd put a child through. In fact, I wouldn't take anyone less than 13 as the treks can be long, hot/humid, over some rugged terrain. You can consult Rwanda Air for your interior flights between Kigali and Arusha I might suggest that you contact Nelson at Gorilla Trek, for further information, as he's extremely helpful
