I visited the Campaign Against Genocide Museum and found it to be very helpful in understanding all the government in Rwanda did to fight the Genocide.

This Museum depicts in details how the Campaign Against Genocide plan was executed by RPA following withdrawal of UN troops leaving the targeted Tutsi under mercy of the genocidaires.

An exorbitant price of 14000 francs for very limited uncreative content. Motorcycle cabs don't know the place. A real disappointment, this is a crucial subject for Rwanda which deserves the best presentation. This is the opposite unfortunately.

Unlike the Genocide Memorial in the center of town, this museum is focusing more on how the genocide was ended. While the UN forces retreated only rescuing foreign nationals, the RPA (Rwandan Patriotic Army) guerillas took charge using military force effectively to stop the killings and defeat the government army.
It becomes very clear from the detailed description of battle on the info boards in the museum that the RPA /RPF leaders were quite able to plan realistically, setting clear objectives, ensuring discipline of their militants and organizing relief for the victims. The experience of fighters and leadership was later used to reorganize the Rwandan state, as we now know it. Perhaps the best performing country in the Sub-Saharan region.
A pity the entrance fee of 16,000 RF (13 USD) is exorbitant. It includes a guide.
The museum is dimly lit making it difficult to read all the texts and see the pictures and maps.
Bring your passport as you have to register at the entry of the parliament compound.

Great museum, so glad I went. Fills the gaps that the Genocide Memorial & Camp Kigali don’t cover - exactly how the genocide was stopped. Quality exhibition. Bonus is going to the roof of the Parliament building to see where army defended building. View across Kigali fantastic. Excellent guide - Was 16,000 RFr including the guide. Taxi from downtown drove me, waited 90 mins and drive me back for 20,000. Take passport.

A detailed look at the days after the genocide started and the rebel army intervened. The main genocide is much better at telling the whole story and still covers in brief the information at this museum

My wife and I were aware of Rwanda's recent past. Being from a country (Sri Lanka) with a similar past, we expected a sad and negative story to come out of this museum. But is was the exact opposite! The museum tells a story that illustrates success in preventing genocide and prompts one to reflect on the true value of humanity going beyond all differences. Isaac the manager and his team are doing an excellent job in maintaining and presenting the museum to the public.

What a great place for extended history on the genocide of 1994 in Rwanda. The welcome from the staff is good, then walking around the ground floor a guide will help you. Isaac was my guide and fully informed about all events from the history of Rwanda to the current day. Ask for Isaac if you need a guide, he's patient and very informative. The building itself was a critical central point due to the location. You will understand why when you go up onto the roof and view the hills. The main memorial statue is beautiful and Isaac will describe the reason for the format. I would not recommend young children but definitely teenagers and adults. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, it pays respect to the horrific genocide, the people and how the FPA and FPF defeated an uncontrollable, disgusting force...with literally no help from the world until it was way too late. Enjoy.

I am not a fan of museums, but this one I can recommend. Even if it is small and not yet finished, it gives you a much needed, and well executed, display of the genocide in the early 90's.
