I had a 3-day individual tour in Etosha National Park with guide Rolencia and it was a delightful experience! We managed to see many animals, 3 out of "big 4"; lions walking in 3 meters from our car, elephants playing in water next to the road etc. It was wonderful to see them; Rolencia knows how to spot the animals, gives interesting facts about them. We stayed in Halali resort and the room was comfortable, with AC, mosquito net over the bed and hot water. The food was also quite good. Overall, I enjoyed the tour and would recommend Wild Wind Safaris to everyone.
However, there are some issues I'd like to point the company's attention. First, until you book the tour and pay, the company will not book your accommodation and your guide. This is understandable, but also a bit uncomfortable. The safari tours are, to say the least, not very cheap (especially individual ones). And before paying this amount of money, one would like to look up the hotel they are going to stay, the reviews for the place and also for the guide. In the individual tour you are spending several days with one person, and it would be better to read some feedback from the other tourists beforehand. Also for the resort: I asked the manager before booking what accommodation it will be and the answer was 'most probably one of those 3 resorts'. Reviews for those 3 resorts were very different so I'd like to have a choice or at least to know which one it will be before payment. Of course, in my case, both the guide and accommodation were great and there are no complaints, but for someone it might be otherwise.
Second thing is a bit of confusion with administrative part of the tour: already after booking the tour, I asked who my guide will be, and the guides changed three times. One day before I was informed that it will be Philip, but next morning Rolencia picked me up. It wasn't a big deal but a bit confusing.
Again, overall the experience with Wild Wind Safaris was positive but I believe these little issues can be taken care of in the future to provide perfect service to the guests!

Thank you as well for your detailed feedback and suggestions well-received. At Wild Wind we continuously strive for 'service excellence' and our Guests' suggestions are most welcome and taken into consideration!
I would like to comment regarding your private tour cost (and take opportunity to clarify for our future 'solo travelers'): indeed higher rates are applied for individual travelers wishing to book a tour with us and embark on a 'solo journey', however we charge a reasonable fee. Let me explain: rather than making a solo traveler cover the cost of all empty seats in the vehicle (which on your tour was 3 unoccupied seats) our 'solo Guests', such as was on your tour you paid for yourself as per regular rates (single room) + an additional fee as a 'solo traveler' on private tour with guide in a private vehicle. We did not require payments for 3 more empty seats remaining unoccupied. We feel that this would be quite high amount and impossible to pay, especially for a solo traveler on a limited budget - so to still be able to assist with your request we opted for lesser and still affordable/reasonable rates. I hope this clarifies bit more regarding 'solo traveler' on a privately booked tour.
Regarding the guide change on your tour - please accept my sincere apologies, this truly happens very rarely. Unfortunately due to 'force majeure' and unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately we had to change plans and thus notify you of guides change. Yet with each change we have sincerely ensured that an experienced guide will be traveling and assisting you - just as is on each of our tours.
I am happy to hear that you have overall enjoyed your tour, guide's company, accommodation, vehicle, our services and most of all had wonderful experience!

It was a wonderful trip. Already the organization surprised me in positive Philip of wildwindsafari answered in a few hours and was always very helpful and clear. When we arrived in Namibia we were welcomed by George, our guide. George loves his country and wants the tourists he accompanies to savour every landscape and every sunset. He has always been very kind and helpful and chatty, which doesn't hurt :) we highly recommend a trip with wildwindsafaris despite the difficulties due to the covid everything went very well :)

We loved this tour so much. This was our first visit to this beautiful country, and our guide from Wild Wind Safaris, Rolencia, made us feel right at home from the very start. The service was both professional and personalised: our guide had a wealth of information to share about various things, she was always on time, very skillful in what she did, and she was committed to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible with all the elements of our schedule.
This tour was the perfect itinerary for us to see the best of Namibia. We loved our desert lodge in the heart of the Namib desert (we were having tea one day and found agroup of Oryxes just walking around only about 10m away!), the sand dunes were amazing, and of course, we will never forget the awe-inspiring visions at Deadvlei. This tour, and Rolencia, promise you the perfect getaway. We highly recommend it :)

We recently returned from a wonderful tour of Namibia. Philip was very helpful from the get go providing an itinerary and answering all our questions in a timely manner - which helped me feel good about selecting Wild Wind Safaris as our tour operator. And our guide, Rolencia, was great too! Very kind, professional, and attentive to our needs. Whenever we needed to stop to take photos or make a request, she was there for us! I feel like we left Namibia with a new friend!! When we needed to make some last minute changes to the itinerary due to covid restrictions, they were both quick to help. Namibia is such a beautiful country and the 10 day tour was a great way to sample some of its best spots. We went with the most basic accommodation level to keep costs low and all were totally sufficient and comfortable (well except one that we were switched to due to a lodge losing our booking but that was really just bc there wasn’t AC and it’s really hot in December!). Tip: Make sure you get accommodations with AC if traveling in summer. We did upgrade to one luxury lodge in Sossusvlei, Dead Valley Lodge, which was amazing & beautiful. Highly recommend. Vehicle we traveled in was comfortable and felt safe as well.
All in all it was a fantastic trip and something we will remember forever. Thank you Philip & Rolencia!!

I can not say enough great things about our guide, Rambo, he absolutely made this experience. He is an incredibly intelligent man, with a deep love for nature and the animals, and also so very kind. (I found out later that he is rated in the top tour guides in the country, and I can see why.)
I was traveling with my mom and aunt and he continually went out of his way to accommodate them (and me) and make sure we were completely taken care of. Little things like making sure my mom's medications that needed to be kept cold were on ice at all times, checking to make sure the rooms were satisfactory before we went in, and always making sure we had time to just watch the wildlife and enjoy the incredible landscape.
We had a 5 day tour and saw more wildlife than we could have imagined (thanks to Rambo's knowledge of the area and especially his deep understanding of animal behaviour.). He would often quietly explain the different behaviour for us, which really helped us to see little details that we would have completely missed had we just whipped up, taken our pictures, and left.
The country itself is strikingly beautiful, full of kind and knowledgeable people, with a rich and diverse culture.
David, with Wild Wind Safaris, was also incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the whole booking process and leading up to our arrival. He was always quick to respond to our questions, made sure to note our requests, and did a wonderful job of booking us great accommodations. I would definitely recommend Wild Wind, as the only surprises were how much the entire trip exceeded our expectations.

My wife and i were glad that we've chosen Wild Wind Safaris as our tour operator for our 16 days Namibia tour from Sep 28 to Oct 13, 2022. It was an incredible and memorable trip.
What we like about Wild Wind Safaris is that we are able to customise the itinerary based on what we want.
In addition the lunch and dinner provided, we were able to order our choice of option directly from the restaurant menu instead of a pre-arranged meals.
At Dramaland and Epupa Fall, the accommodation were not so ideal. We were staying in tent on both days. The tent at in Dramaland is ok but the attached open air toilet is outside our main tent. Hence, not so convenient to shower when it's chilling and windy after sunset and before sunrise.
In Epupa Fall, the tent is quite run down and there is no charging point inside the tent. We had to charge all our devices at the reception. Humid at Epupa Fall and very stuffy at night, so had to leave all windows open while sleeping.
Our Guide cum driver Rambo has an eagle eye. He is able to spot animals 10 meters away. He even spotted a 5cm Namaqua Lizard along the roadside while driving at Namib Desert. He knows that we like to take photos, he'll try position the car at an angle that we can have the best lighting for our photos. Thanks Rambo for bringing us to restaurants with great view and nice food.
A big thank you to Philip, for his prompt communication and his excellent customer service. He personally received us at the airport on our arrival and sending us to the airport on our departure despite our very early morning flight at 4.30am.
We look forward to travel with Wild Wind Safaris again in the near future.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused during your stay at Dramaland and Epupa Fall. We understand that the tented lodge accommodation at these locations was not up to your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback, which we have also forwarded to both lodges.
As is with each itinerary we provide our Guests the links to websites of each accommodation establishment, however these websites may have not accurately portrayed or described these two specific arrangements, which were in fact tented/canvas lodges. This type of accommodation arrangements allow our Guests closer contact with surroundings and nature, but may not be to everyone's liking, due to more rustic, off-grid conditions, such as outside shower or canvas walls.
We are glad that you had a positive experience with your guide, Rambo. We take pride in our guides' expertise and knowledge of the local fauna and flora. We are pleased to know that Rambo's keen eye and attention to detail enabled you to spot some incredible wildlife and capture stunning photographs. I made sure to pass on your kind words to Rambo.

After Namibia got the all clear from the German health departments regarding COVID-19 case, I was keen on going there. At short notice, Philip provided a memorable itinerary ticking of the main highlights. Even if the distances were huge (>2500km in 8 days), it was still fun. Philip had lots of anecdotes to share, a wealth of knowledge regarding the domestic situation and wild life and he put me in position for some excellent shots (sunrise at Dune 45 comes to mind). This time, it was Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Etosha and Windhoek. I'll definitely come back again for the parks in the Caprivi Strip - and I'll certainly reach out for Philip to get his advice. Thanks guys for a perfect holiday during corona times.

I would highly recommend Wild Wind Safaris as your tour agent and as a guide to anywhere in Namibia and Botswana. They are great to deal with , Quick to respond, helpful with any questions and fun on the tour. It was a wonderful experience and we are booking again thru them.. You won't be sorry if you go with them.. It is amazing and you will see all that you want to see and photograph at Etosha and preserves surrounding Etosha.. Just tell them what you are interested in and they will make sure to deliver it.. We are Professional photographers and would highly recommend you ask for Phillip as your guide.

We have customised a 9-day trip with Philip covering Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Spitzkoppe, visit to Himba tribe as well as Etosha. The communication with Philip was seamless and smooth, Philip was very responsive from start to finish and helped us plan this once in a lifetime trip for us!
We opt for the mid-level accommodation and most of the accommodation are very decent, we especially enjoyed Agama Lodge as we have a rooftop to view the sunset and even do stargazing!
We also want to give a special shoutout to our guide George. His deep knowledge of Namibia made our trip even more special by learning so much about Namibia's history, language, landscape, local communities and wild life from him! George is always punctual, very friendly and shares so much about Namibia with us. He also has the guide's eyes - always spotting animals from afar when we can only see with binoculars! We can really feel George's passion and love for Namibia and the wild life, we learn so much about different animal species from him during our safari trip in Etosha. Our safari trip wouldn't be as special without George's explanation!
We highly recommend to book with Wild Wind Safaris and a tour with George. This trip completely blew our mind away!

Had the most wonderful adventure holiday from the 27th Dec to the 5 Jan 2020. Was very impressed with this company's efficiency from booking to , accommodation and the tours. Rambo was an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide. He went the extra mile to make our holiday very enjoyable. Will definitely recommend Wild Wind Safaris as a very good and reliable tour operator.

Hi, we (group of 2) plan to arrive Windoek international airport from Victoria Falls on July 31 (Wed). We would like to visit Sossusvlei beginning on the next day (Aug 1, Thurs) and return to Windhoek by afternoon of Aug 3 (Sat). It seems like the Desert Getaway tour may suit us. U$ 832 per person (mid-range lodge accommodation, 2 x meals: B, D)

Please advice if airport transfer on 31st July may be added to the quote.

I have a Namibia tour that starts in Walvis Bay on Nov 2, and goes to Etosha and other wildlife areas. I will be flying from Jo'burg on Oct 31, and would like to visit Sossusvlei to see the Big Daddy and other sand dunes (just to photograph, not climb). Does your company do a 2-day trip like that, and if so, is it better (i.e., cheaper/more convenient) to base myself in Walvis or Windhoek? I would need to get to Walvis NLT noon on Nov 2. Thanks!

Hi, if you have a tour starting in Walvis Bay it's sufficient and best to arrange quick Desert Getaway (and for photography 2 nights will be advised somewhere near Sesriem entrance gate or within the park at Sossus Dune Lodge which enables early access to the park, without waiting for opening of the gates and queue. We may help to arrange your Desert Getaway however best will be (and cheaper) to research operators in Walvis Bay to provide transfer to Sossusvlei. We are based in Windhoek. We are flying into Windhoek on 19th May (from Cape Town) and flying out to Victoria Falls on 27th May.
In the 7 full days from 20th to 26th, we would like to do a 3 day tour in Etosha. We are not crazy about animals but we would like to see the distinctive features of the park.
Is there anything you could do about it ?
