My wife and i were glad that we've chosen Wild Wind Safaris as our tour operator for our 16 days Namibia tour from Sep 28 to Oct 13, 2022. It was an incredible and memorable trip.

What we like about Wild Wind Safaris is that we are able to customise the itinerary based on what we want.

In addition the lunch and dinner provided, we were able to order our choice of option directly from the restaurant menu instead of a pre-arranged meals.

At Dramaland and Epupa Fall, the accommodation were not so ideal. We were staying in tent on both days. The tent at in Dramaland is ok but the attached open air toilet is outside our main tent. Hence, not so convenient to shower when it's chilling and windy after sunset and before sunrise.

In Epupa Fall, the tent is quite run down and there is no charging point inside the tent. We had to charge all our devices at the reception. Humid at Epupa Fall and very stuffy at night, so had to leave all windows open while sleeping.

Our Guide cum driver Rambo has an eagle eye. He is able to spot animals 10 meters away. He even spotted a 5cm Namaqua Lizard along the roadside while driving at Namib Desert. He knows that we like to take photos,  he'll try position the car at an angle that we can have the best lighting for our photos. Thanks Rambo for bringing us to restaurants with great view and nice food.

A big thank you to Philip, for his prompt communication and his excellent customer service. He personally received us at the airport on our arrival and sending us to the airport on our departure despite our very early morning flight at 4.30am.

We look forward to travel with Wild Wind Safaris again in the near future.

It was a wonderful trip. Already the organization surprised me in positive Philip of wildwindsafari answered in a few hours and was always very helpful and clear. When we arrived in Namibia we were welcomed by George, our guide. George loves his country and wants the tourists he accompanies to savour every landscape and every sunset. He has always been very kind and helpful and chatty, which doesn't hurt :) we highly recommend a trip with wildwindsafaris despite the difficulties due to the covid everything went very well :)

Dear michelazuffi Thank you very much for your kind review, sharing your experiences as well as recommending us to the global travelers, especially in these covid-influenced 'traveling times'. On behalf of our team, I am so pleased to hear that you have enjoyed your Namibian experience and everything went smooth. I sincerely hope that you were pleased and surprised with small special arrangements at few lodges! So good to hear as well that your guide's company was pleasant and that he was engaged and interactive. Just like a popular 'safari saying' goes that 'guide can either make or break your tour' - so thank you for including George in your review and your kind words of appraisal. We have passed them on to him as well. Thank you for traveling with us - we hope to welcome you back to Namibia! With kind regards Philip

I booked this tour for me and my 11 year old son. It was simulating, exciting and really allowed us to see various different part of Namibia. Some lodges were better kept than others but in general for mid-range they were good. Our local guide was great and allowed us to discover different aspects of the country that are also more local. The car was also comfortable and during the safari in the Etosha park we had a great views as we had the open rooftop. Be prepared to leverage every moment and be proactive in asking what extra optional activities can be done for each locations- every location offers experiences not to be forgotten.

Hello ammorena, Thank you for traveling with us and your inspiring review! We hope your son enjoyed his safari and had many great adventures. I hope also that small keepsake pack was a surprise for him! Your 12 days tour took you to stunning destinations in the Namib Desert (Dune 45, Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon and Elim Dune), on the coast our coastal dunes and lagoons with abundant bird-life, Welwitchia Mirabilis botanical wonder, and historical kurort Swakopmund, and on to scenic Damaraland to discover disappearing culture of the Damara Tribe as well as Twyfelfontein UNESCO World Heritage site with its ancient collection of Bushmen rock engravings; further on to meet some of the last remaining semi-nomadic tribes on earth: Himba! And having experienced the abundance of ethnic and cultural moments, your journey ended in Etosha National Park - nature and wildlife sanctuary! Summarizing it - what a voyage! I sincerely hope it was a memorable one both for you and your son. And there is more to discover! So should the wanderlust call again to Africa - we are here, happy and glad to assist! Kind regards Philip

After spending a few days on a self guided tour of Cape Town, we flew to Windhoek and met up with our guide, George.

We toured Namibia extensively, stopping at Etosha National Park and other amazing areas. We were impressed with the variety and sheer numbers of animals, and the way they live among the people.

We did two visits with Bushmen, and that was really fun and enlightening.

We moved on to Botswana to see Chobe National Park, then to Zimbabwe for Victoria Falls. Seeing elephants and hippos in the water at Chobe was thrilling! We watched a couple of hippo "fights", and I could have watched the elephants peacefully grazing in the water for hours.

George knows so much about animals and animal behavior, which helped us spot and identify so much wildlife. He saw some elephants in the trees, and predicted they were headed for the water hole. He positioned the truck so the whole herd passed directly in front of our vehicle. It was amazing! He's also an attentive and fun host.

Our trip was postponed for two years due to the pandemic, meaning I had lots of time to research and build expectations. This trip exceeded anything I could have hoped for.

Thank you Shelly - it's so great to (unexpectedly) receive your feedback!!! Especially the last paragraph was a punch-through and how fantastic is it to hear that 'this trip exceeded anything I could have hoped for'! I believe it was a beautiful experience, which combined scenic and landscape vistas, cultural and ethnic encounters 'with the locals' and in some cases the disappearing traditions, and finally ended with wonderful wildlife sightings in Etosha, then parks of northern Namibia and Chobe in Botswana, wonderfully ending at Victoria Falls! Your mentioning 'wanting to watch the elephants for hours' reminds me one of my visits to Etosha NP and observing herds of elephants, lone bulls, and inter-generational interactions between young and very old ellies at one of park's the eastern waterholes - for an entire afternoon! What an unforgettable experience it was! Thank you for kind words for George, he was notified and I am sure such kind words will cheer him on many journeys! It was nice having you on board and should you miss Africa - we are here! Sunny cheers Philip

This was my first solo trip, and I was extremely nervous as it was my first time visiting Namibia as well. But my guide, Justus, made it a positive experience; he was the most knowledgeable, down to earth and hospitable person that I have met throughout this trip. I came out of it, not only wanting to come back to Namibia but hoping to learn more. We visited Santorini, Swakopmund and Etosha, all of which were worth visiting! Namibia is like a hidden gem in Africa, an underrated vacation spot. The culture, the land and the language were all alluring!

My only advice to Wild Wind Safaris is to communicate well ahead of time about the stays. Although, they were all mostly nice, I would have definitely avoided Halali Resort when we were in Etosha. Other than that, thank you for taking care of me, I was happy with the service that was provided by Philip and Justus. GBU!

Dear Eden T, Thank you very much first of all for booking with us, having courage to venture out on a solo trip and finally for your wonderful and heartfelt review! So much more I appreciate it to hear that you had positive experiences and pleasant interactions with your guide. To hear that you're wanting to come back to Namibia to learn more cheered our whole team! We have many returnee Guests who are simply 'homesick for Namibia' so to say or missing it, wishing to be able to travel soon. With so many travel restrictions easing out now - we believe we will welcome our returnee Guests - and possibly you as well - on another journey of discovery in Namibia! I do agree with you that Namibia is like a 'hidden gem' - quiet, peaceful, meditative and at the same time surprising, clean and not at all congested by very touristic environment; which appeals to travelers. Thank you for your suggestion and commenting on Halali. Not to undermine our colleagues at Namibia Wildlife Resorts, but the resorts under NWR still do require and need TLC; Halali is one of them, offering basic accommodation (although very comfortable beds) in double rooms, Bush Chalets or on campsite; inspite of 'basic services', big swimming pool and restaurant it most of all offers incredibly unique wildlife sightings at the Moringa Waterhole, which is adjacent to the camp and accessible any time of the day, and if you wish at night as well - and is favored with many visitors. I sincerely hope you were also able to enjoy some good sightings while at Halali! Please take care and all the best, Thank you once more for traveling with us! Kind regards Philip

We recently returned from a wonderful tour of Namibia. Philip was very helpful from the get go providing an itinerary and answering all our questions in a timely manner - which helped me feel good about selecting Wild Wind Safaris as our tour operator. And our guide, Rolencia, was great too! Very kind, professional, and attentive to our needs. Whenever we needed to stop to take photos or make a request, she was there for us! I feel like we left Namibia with a new friend!! When we needed to make some last minute changes to the itinerary due to covid restrictions, they were both quick to help. Namibia is such a beautiful country and the 10 day tour was a great way to sample some of its best spots. We went with the most basic accommodation level to keep costs low and all were totally sufficient and comfortable (well except one that we were switched to due to a lodge losing our booking but that was really just bc there wasn’t AC and it’s really hot in December!). Tip: Make sure you get accommodations with AC if traveling in summer. We did upgrade to one luxury lodge in Sossusvlei, Dead Valley Lodge, which was amazing & beautiful. Highly recommend. Vehicle we traveled in was comfortable and felt safe as well.

All in all it was a fantastic trip and something we will remember forever. Thank you Philip & Rolencia!!

Dear laureng, Thank you for traveling with us, especially 'taking the plunge' and venturing out during these peculiar times of pandemic and global travel restrictions! It worked!!! And we are so glad to be able to provide satisfactory advice and services. Yet, beyond this, always most important for us at Wild Wind is the 'human factor': care, comfort, flexibility and in effect making friends! On behalf of the team, I am extremely happy to hear that you had a fantastic trip which 'you will remember forever'. You are so very welcome! Sunny cheers, Philip

I went on the 3 day Etosha Tour with Wild Wind Safaris. Our tourguide Rolencia was very very good. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she went out of her way to make everyone feel at home and happy. Her knowledge of the African Bush is excellent and we learned a lot from her. We were 6 tourists in the group and everyone was so happy to be part of this group. Everybody went home with a heart full of memories. I can definitely recommend Wild Wind Safaris!!

I had a 3-day individual tour in Etosha National Park with guide Rolencia and it was a delightful experience! We managed to see many animals, 3 out of "big 4"; lions walking in 3 meters from our car, elephants playing in water next to the road etc. It was wonderful to see them; Rolencia knows how to spot the animals, gives interesting facts about them. We stayed in Halali resort and the room was comfortable, with AC, mosquito net over the bed and hot water. The food was also quite good. Overall, I enjoyed the tour and would recommend Wild Wind Safaris to everyone.
However, there are some issues I'd like to point the company's attention. First, until you book the tour and pay, the company will not book your accommodation and your guide. This is understandable, but also a bit uncomfortable. The safari tours are, to say the least, not very cheap (especially individual ones). And before paying this amount of money, one would like to look up the hotel they are going to stay, the reviews for the place and also for the guide. In the individual tour you are spending several days with one person, and it would be better to read some feedback from the other tourists beforehand. Also for the resort: I asked the manager before booking what accommodation it will be and the answer was 'most probably one of those 3 resorts'. Reviews for those 3 resorts were very different so I'd like to have a choice or at least to know which one it will be before payment. Of course, in my case, both the guide and accommodation were great and there are no complaints, but for someone it might be otherwise.
Second thing is a bit of confusion with administrative part of the tour: already after booking the tour, I asked who my guide will be, and the guides changed three times. One day before I was informed that it will be Philip, but next morning Rolencia picked me up. It wasn't a big deal but a bit confusing.
Again, overall the experience with Wild Wind Safaris was positive but I believe these little issues can be taken care of in the future to provide perfect service to the guests!

Dear irinak159 Thank you very much for your wonderful review and most of all for time you took to share it! I am truly pleased to hear that you had delightful experience and enjoyed wildlife encounters, which what I saw from pictures taken by Rolencia were quite amazing and near your vehicle! Thank you as well for your detailed feedback and suggestions well-received. At Wild Wind we continuously strive for 'service excellence' and our Guests' suggestions are most welcome and taken into consideration! I would like to comment regarding your private tour cost (and take opportunity to clarify for our future 'solo travelers'): indeed higher rates are applied for individual travelers wishing to book a tour with us and embark on a 'solo journey', however we charge a reasonable fee. Let me explain: rather than making a solo traveler cover the cost of all empty seats in the vehicle (which on your tour was 3 unoccupied seats) our 'solo Guests', such as was on your tour you paid for yourself as per regular rates (single room) + an additional fee as a 'solo traveler' on private tour with guide in a private vehicle. We did not require payments for 3 more empty seats remaining unoccupied. We feel that this would be quite high amount and impossible to pay, especially for a solo traveler on a limited budget - so to still be able to assist with your request we opted for lesser and still affordable/reasonable rates. I hope this clarifies bit more regarding 'solo traveler' on a privately booked tour. Regarding the guide change on your tour - please accept my sincere apologies, this truly happens very rarely. Unfortunately due to 'force majeure' and unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately we had to change plans and thus notify you of guides change. Yet with each change we have sincerely ensured that an experienced guide will be traveling and assisting you - just as is on each of our tours. I am happy to hear that you have overall enjoyed your tour, guide's company, accommodation, vehicle, our services and most of all had wonderful experience! You are warmly welcome back to Namibia on another adventure! Kind regards Philip

Our trip with Wild Wind was absolutely amazing. We chose a guided 8 day tour, camping, and it was much better than we imagined. Phillip answered all our questions quickly and carefully, and we felt taken care of all the way.
We did Sossusvlei, Spitzkoppe, Damaraland and Etosha. The camps are great (most don’t have internet, so buy a SIM card!), the car super confortable, and all super organized, and a lot of good food!
But the best part was by far our guide, Rambo. He is a walking encyclopedia about Namibia, and his genuine love for his country and his job made our experience much richer. He drove us, cooked for us, guides us with care and safety, and our thanks go beyond what we can write here.
A guided tour is MUCH better than self drive!!! Also, stay in the NWR camps inside the parks, the infrastructure is great and you get to be early for the attractions (if you stay outside you have to wait for gates to open and you loose time).
Go with Wild Wind and fall in love with Namibia for sure😀

Dear sashaalano Thank you so much for such a wonderful and heartfelt feedback! And most of all thank you for traveling with us! It was a pleasure having you on board of Wild Wind, and even our pre-arrival communication was pleasant. Our entire team is thrilled to hear that your trip was amazing and as you thoughtfully titled your review 'best trip of my life'! We are smiling from ear to ear! Camping tours are naturally less comfortable than lodge-accommodated ones, but we did make sure that for 8 days, you have comfortable and spacious car, your sleeping bags and pillows are fluffy and warm, your (specifically requested) coffee will accompany you on tour each day and you enjoy plenty of tasty meals and treats. I sincerely appreciate your kind appraisal for your guide Rambo - he is indeed very much engaged with Guests and abundantly shares his vast knowledge on each tour; having a professional guide offers many advantages: greater understanding of area, culture and workings of the country, attention to many details on tour, a skilled driver who can handle difficult gravel roads and its surprises, to mention a few. It is my pleasure to pass on to him your wonderful review! Thank you for being Awesome Travelers - hope to see you again in Namibia! Warmest regards Philip
