I am writing this review as I am sitting here waiting on our waitress to come get our order. We called before hand to make sure the place was not fully booked and we were advised it was not. When we arrived we were ushered to a make shift table because it was the only available place. Then we have had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our drinks order (yes they have no drinks menu). Now we are waiting for our meal order to be taken. Oh wait we have decided just to leave. No place is worth waiting an hour for especially if the service is under par and the people don't seem to care. Y'all need to do better!!

This place was one of the best childhood memories I kept dear to me up until this past weekend during a day visit. My family and I were treated with such hostility from the entrance up until the restaurant/bar area, we had to ask to be serviced/or assisted just to be seated, after 3 waiters walked by us and ignored us standing and looking lost. And the front desk lady seemed irritated when we asked questions for clarity purposes, even went as far as slightly raising her voice at us on top of not allowing us to finish our sentences as we tried to ask questions.
The only factor that made us stay was the fact that we were hungry and opted to have lunch then drive back to Windhoek immediately and not proceed to lounge by the pool area with our kiddies. We decided to swim at home rather.
Needless to say, I do not think my family and I will be returning soon, if ever.😢
And they continued to delete my comment on their Facebook page.

The managers at Okapuka Ranch are racist and totally unwelcoming. If you are non-white, stay away from Okapuka Ranch.

I usually don’t write such kind of reviews

It was very evident if you are not white you get a second rate treatment especially during the drive around the Ranch. That’s all I have to say!

Booked Into this so called 3 star lodge ... They are worth there 3 star or should be demoted to 1 star. Service is non existent at this lodge. You ask for towels for your room-you have to fetch it yourself from front desk. You ask for a spoon at breakfast you are told by the waiter to fetch it yourself.talking about breakfast when you walk in they don't take your room number . You don't get greeted . You don't get told where to sit. It is undeniable that the view is tranquil but having cleaning staff sweep dust on you while you having breakfast is unacceptable really. If you want value for money do not book at this ranch .

We went for an afternoon game drive for 1.5 hours.
Animals get very close to the vehicles, the rhinos are amazing.
Great for an afternoon and only 30 mins outside Windhoek .
Our guide was very knowledgeable, they also have Sable antelope, which we've not seen before.

I have been to Okapuka many times, but on the ride only once. It was a very good drive. Since then, I have been able to bring friends and family when they visit. Even on "slow" days, a lot is going on, and on days where there is a lot of activity, it is amazing. This is not Etosha, but for a 90 minute drive it can be amazing and more than more the trip.

My friends and I decided to go to okapuka for valentines day. First we had a very rude welcome by a German lady called Petronella after which we proceeded to the swimming pool. We were seated on the grass when suddenly the sprinkler system was switched on. All our clothes are wet and our drinks and food were filled with water. No one gave us an apology or refunded our ruined drinks and food. Unfortunately I had already paid for the game drive and I had to wait 3 more hours for the game drive. If I didn't I would have left already. I ordered a pizza for nad95 which was one slice plus a tiny salad.

We then continued to proceed to the short game drive. I was soo disappointed that I drove back to Windhoek without having had my lunch.

Bellow are the reasons why I would never come back :
- The manager on duty was rude;
- We could not bring any snacks in and the variety they had was not great.... There was a German family that was allowed to take their food in;
- The sprinkler system was turned on whilst we were on the grass ;
- We got a slice of pizza which was expensive ;
- The game drive was short and not worth it;

One good thing I have to mention though is that the waitresses were very sympathetic.

Let's start with the beauty of the lodge. So stunning! The meal prices are outrageous but that's to be expected I'm sure. We loved walking among the warthogs, goats, sheep and ostrich. If you're staying at their guest houses I wouldn't swim since we saw some of the animals getting a drink from the pool. We loved our driver who was very knowledgeable and shared many great insights to the animals and conditions of the land. Fabulous experience I would recommend highly!

I would rate this facility as one of the best I have ever used. The owners, staff and the great service make up for anything negative. The cheetah feeding is a value add....even though Namibia is currently having its worst drought in 90 years this Ranch succeeds in offering you a true ranch experience. The food is great and clients were of the opinion that their steaks are the best ever!!
