We thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the several floors of the museum as it wound its way through the history of Namibia. The displays and photos really helped to tell the story. The elevators were quite hot in the sun, but the ride is relatively short.

The meseum truly inspired me. I would visit again. The animals, culture, mine stones, the land rover and the artifacts on history and the Germans

This so called museum is not only an architectural disaster (...architect must have been drunk...) but also contentwise far away from real history. For the biggest part a self-adulation of SWAPO and their leaders. Little "real" and true information. If you want to see terrible...More

The National Museum is in an odd building that must have cost a lot. But its content is important. Namibia suffered from a very tough form of colonialism in the early twentieth century. Then it's liberation movement joined in the war in nearby Angola, allied...More

One of the problems with the TripAdvisor site is the constant confusion of the independence memorial museum with the nearby national museum --- these are two different museums!
