About
Windhoek, Namibia’s capital city, is described as a city with a ‘continental’ atmosphere and this can be ascribed to its architecture – historical buildings dating back to German colonial rule. Windhoek was initially known as Ai-gams a Nama word meaning ‘firewater’, ‘steam’ or ‘smoke’ because of the area’s plentiful hot springs.

I had a lovely stay with a beautiful breakfast and a fascinating clean room. I like their welcoming pack with a 🍷. The fact that I had to bring along my drink from outside since they don't have it just made my stay even more beautiful. Nice location to drive to the airport and in the city centre. The staff are very friendly and I enjoyed the sea food platter. Big room and best room service. I had been sleeping in Avani for so many years now and I will still come back and recommend my friends and family

A special thanks to Shanice the waitress who has been really helpful making sure myself and the band are well taken care of with prompt response and delivery of food. Also giving out great advice in line with how the hotel functions.

The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey -- NS150! Lunch buffet was better at NS98.

Good location, that is it! Be aware. Gathering place for HOOKERS...this is where they pick up their "clients". When Hotel is under construction, they do not inform their clients in advance.

So we went on a Saturday night. Not the best idea as the place was filled with shady characters and abounded with partiers and ladies of the night. The food was so-so though the chili creme brule was fantastic. We were also kept awake by the partying coming from the rooftop lounge. If you're interested in a good time I'm sure the Avani would be right up your alley.

The hotel which is in the centre of Windhoek has been improved and renovated recently, and has large comfortable rooms. The restaurant offers buffet style meals with plenty of choice in a large dining room. On the top floor is a bar and open air terrace offering views across the city.

Nothing really special here. Who goes to Namibia for a casino anyway? There were some nice stores around it, so we spent most of our time shopping around the casino rather staying in it
