Very tranquil and unspoiled. Santa Maria beach and reserve is amazing, thousands of docile fish, great snorkeling. Basic foods and drink available in the village, but better to bring your own meat and dairy. Accommodations are rustic but nice.

Only 2 hours away by boat from Inhaca. Must visit to Lucas restaurant for best seafood on the island. Pestana Inhaca hotel decent place to stay. Lovely place to snorkel and beach walks on Portuguese island - 10 minutes by boat from Inhaca island. Whale watching boat rides and sunset and sunrise boat rides too.

Inhaca is easily my favorite place close to Maputo and, by far, one of the most amazing places that I've visited. The beaches are beautiful, empty and wide and the woods are all that you would expect from a sub-tropical island. Despite what the other reviewers say I particularly enjoy the boat trip aboard the Nyeleti, definitely a great opportunity... More

Typical subtropical island with beautiful beaches and good local food. It can be a bit dirty but nothing that will surprise you if you have been to other costal areas in east Africa.

I went there for a conference and it is a very nice place. Surronded by lovely landcapes in the beach. It is a nice place to relax, particulary if you are there for work because after hour it is very relaxing

Recommended for a short get away from it all trip. Beautiful island. You can take walks along the beach and through the local villages. The boat trip is also an interesting experience, especially the government ferry!

The boat that takes you to the island is not at all what we consider a safe boat but more what we italians see every day on tv (sic) it takes you about 3 hours to get to the island at the price of 400 meticais for each person one way in the first class (absolutely don't take the second... More
