This place is amazing. You can see animals in their natural habitat just like as they're alive. My daughter was so delighted! I've been living in Maputo for my entire life but being there with my child was an amazing experience. Children can see live...More

The museum itself is a bit dated but there are some interesting things to see. Get a guide as you will hear some interesting tidbits about it and is inexpensive. Some artistic surprises there too

Loved how you get to see real size how huge the animals you see on a safari really are and the elephant fetus was really amazing to see. Won’t see anything like it in any other museum in the world

I found the exhibitions uninteresting and not really engaging. The museum appears to be unkept, probably because they lack funding to keep the exhibits looking clean and presentable. The actual content of the museum is just not very interesting. It’s just a group of displays...More

The "Museu de História Natural" was founded in 1911 and, since 1933, is housed at a beautiful neo Manueline architectural style (the Portuguese rococo) mansion. It is administerd by the "Universidade Eduardo Mondlane" and focus on natural sciences and etnography. It displays a nice collection...More

It’s quite small compared to other natural history museums i been to, but quite informative and scenic. Although the works of the animal figurines need more details and polishing. Overall a good visit, entrance fee is 50MZN per person

We reached there while touring the city of Maputo. The entrance fees was 50 MZN and I would say its not expensive for such a place. It has many animals “not real” and I loved how its organized in a way that similar animals are...More

This museum is pretty disappointing. The exterior is a nice architectural site but inside it's a bunch of stuffed animals with dust all over them. They can take more than the current 50 mts for entry, revamp the place and offer something more worthwhile. Save...More

We were in the city for just one day, and visited the museum as part of a city tour. Being in Maputo, I must be honest and say that I was not expecting much. But was very pleasantly surprised by this museum. It is a...More

It isn't free to get in but in mts it was pretty cheap back in 2013 when I was there last. It would cost next to nothing in USD.
