The place is very well organised. The history of the Indian labour is well explained. Decoration is excellent.

This ghat is well maintained and is the landing point of our ancestors who travelled for months on ships from India or Africa. They came to work as identured labourers in Mauritius. How they stayed, dressed, utencils they used and their way of living at that...More

Be prepared to be amazed here. Very organised museum. Self learning activity. Some outdoor buildings included too. Its good to learn about history which has been suppressed.

Aapravasi Ghat is a beautiful cultural and historical site that deserves a tour. The place is beautifully architected and set up and offers a quiet setting for a walk through time

One of the not to be missed historical site in Mauritius. Visit takes about 1 hour. Really interesting for heritage tourism.

Free to enter. Very interesting, well set out with good balance of artefacts and information boards. Interactive stuff for kids too.

Information was quite repetitive and some of the audio equipment was not working. The English was sometimes hard to read because of lighting and the French was worse. That said, it was free and the subject was very interesting.

We only found this because it was sign posted from the bus station but were glad we went. It was very interesting to learn about the people that came to colonise Mauritius in the 19th Century. Free to visit and air conditioned with clean toilets.
