Nouakchott does not have much to offer , so you probably should go and visit 'Marché Capitale' . But don't expect too much : you most surely will find nothing of interest to buy - but you get a glimpse of eveydaylife in Mauretania .

A lot of clothes from traditional to used western, fruits, accessory, kitchen tools, electronic stuff, etc. 欧米からの古着が大量に無造作に置かれていた。モーリタニアという国でどんな日用品が売られているのか、買いに来ている1人など興味深い。

This is a place meant for the locals to do their shopping, hence it is crowded. I visited the place during Ramadan, adding more pressure for the festival shopping. If you are looking for chinese goods to local stuff, this is the market to visit....More

You will find many things available in Mauritania at marche capitale. But I have to admit it is not my favorite place for shopping. If you just have time for one visit to a market skip this one and go to marche cinquieme.

It is really not worth going there. Nothing to see and nothing to buy or do. Just skip it. It is really a big chaos
