About
Gallery 1957 is a new gallery dedicated to contemporary art in Accra, Ghana. Founded by Marwan Zakhem, the gallery has evolved from over 15 years of private collecting. With an initial curatorial focus on contemporary Ghanaian art, the gallery presents a programme of exhibitions, installations and performances by the region's most significant artists.

Located inside Kempinski Hotel, Gallery 1957 and at the Galleria Mall across from the Hotel, Gallery 1957 hosts works of contemporary artists. Oliver Okolo had his pieces at the Hotel and Afia Prempeh at the Mall. It is definitely a place to visit

The gallery is wonderful but really the entire hotel is a gallery. Peter kindly allowed our art and music students from Glendale California to stay for quite a while viewing and discussing art. We will definitely be back. Thank you for providing this wonderful space for W. African art.

stayed in the kempinski hotel and soooooo enjoyed strolling by the massive and innovative african art pieces,,,a real plus to the hotel!!!

A gem in Accra. A very contemporary gallery with some of the best African artists displaying their work for us all to see. Keep up the great work, Ghana needs more of this.

if you are in luck, there will be an exhibition in the Gallery and it is worth getting an invitation for first class art from across the continent.

The overall hotel is beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food and cocktails are great. I cannot find any fault. One of my favourite places in Accra.

Visited a an ongoing exhibition and was impressed with the place. Very modern venue within the kempiski hotel and the exhibition was impressive
