This monument is big and you can go up and see very good view and you can see over the Banjul city from here. Price to up is not much, but view is nice. Defenetly worth of visit.

Walking up the stairs in the west-african heat may be a bit of an unexpected workout for some, but its worth visiting. Its not that tall a building, but given that there are no tall buildings in The Gambia, you can enjoy very good view of...More

Not worth looking at it. A symbol of the formal dictatorship. Do not blow it up, just let nature do its work....

I am aware that the arch is a commerative one but surely the money spent on its construction would have been better used elsewhere.

Banjul is very known for this arch which is why you should see it if you’re ever in Banjul city. Not really that big of a deal but still.

Didn't have a chance to go up but passed by a couple of times. Looks impressive from a distance and good land mark.

The arch is one of those must see monuments in The Gambia. Unfortunately it’s not been well looked after and maintained- the elevator doesn’t work and the stairway is really dark which is dangerous because it’s a winding, loopy staircase. When we reached the top...More

Nothing much to see really... An worn down arch over a noisy road, steep stairs (no elevator). View over ? Actually not that much!

When you are in Banjul do go for a visit to this Arch. It isn't that beautiful but it has a bloody history that will tell you about the dictator and the killings going on in front of the Arch. On the other hand, going...More
