The museum is a focused on those that are interesting to reading much about the history. We did find it very interesting to learn more about the geology and start of human civilisation in this area.

The site hosts a museum on the evolution of Homo sapiens, which was extremely informative. The setting is rather stark.

Went a long way to find it is under construction. Displays are not available, work site is interesting for a few minutes, but wouldn't go there if we had known it is mostly closed.

Interesting, but could be much better. Not really worth driving all the way there. The artifacts look a bit neglected, thrown around. Shame.

We had a day trip out of Addis with (the excellent Abeba Tours) and this was one of the stops. Only just worth it but with Tiya and Adadi Marian then ok. There is a slightly sad EU funded museum with displays that are in English about geology and the country and archeology then the local guide took us to one of the sites. This was the best bit - over a million years ago comes to life a little.

Melkam Kunture is an ancient settlement area near a river. A small museum displayed a lot of different basalt rocks found in this excavation, very interesting for archeology enthusiasts.
