Misganow is hilarious. It was a privilege to see Addis Ababa through his own eyes. We felt completely safe with him anywhere we went, he is like the king of the city. We learned a ton of stuff about the culture and history of the country. He is so passionate about it that even the details become interesting. We spent a whole day from 8am to 8pm with him and he never gets tired or loses his enthusiasm about all the things he has to teach and show us. You can suggest whatever you want to visit in the city and he knows it very very well so I think you should mix your interests with his suggestions on what to do throughout the day. We were in Addis for 4 days and only when we took the tour did we actually understand a variety of things about Ethiopia and its people and its culture. With him you can pretty much get the full picture of Ethiopia in one day, so go ahead and take the tour through the city on your first day. There is a lot of value in it

We travelled for one week with Action tours through Ethiopia, mainly visiting National parks. Action tours were not the cheapest option, but because they had experience in the West of the country (an area seldom visited by tourists) we decided to take this tour operator. We were very happy with the service and had a fantastic driver. Moreover, one of their statements is "We do everything what we told we would do", a rare gift in Ethiopia :-)

To start with, Action tours was very responsive in my requests for a personalized tour. They worked with me to maximize my time in Ethiopia. I experienced a flight delay, arriving 14 hours late, and they immediately adjusted my itinerary. Once I arrived, I had no difficulty in finding them and we were off.
I selected the option for a guide to be with me the entire time, and was glad I did as there were interesting stories, history and tips galore. I got much more than I would with just a driver. That said, the drivers they used were excellent too (driving there being an extreme sport).
We experienced flight delays and hotel issues, and each time Action Tours was there to help mitigate and accomidate.
Overall, it was a great trip, customized to my schedule and requests and I would certainly not hesitate to recommend them.

My wife and I only had a few days, but we wanted to visit Addis, Gondar and Lalibela. I contacted Mr. Misganaw via email and we agreed on a 4 day itinerary. After that he took care of everything else. We have travelled around the world and met many local guides. Mr. Misganaw is one of the best. He has an extraordinary knowledge and love for his country. He is flexible and trustworthy. His English is perfect. Mr. Misganaw is an outstanding human being. My wife and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit Ethiopia and more so to have done it with Mr. Misganaw. Like others have said, his fee isn't the cheapest, but the level of service he provides is exceptional. If you are interested in hiring a private guide in Ethiopia, I highly recommend that you contact Mr. Misganaw at Action Tours!

The Danakil desert is an incredible place to visit. Our goal was to trek under extreme conditions and reach the Dabbhu fissure. Mr. Misganaw through Action Tours was able to facilitate our particular needs and Mr. Misganaw trekked with us the whole way.
We felt the personal attention which made the trip a success.

We went to Chebera Churchura. The park itself is fantastic and beautiful.
Unfortunately, Misganaw is fully unprepared to offer a trip there. We had to leave after one night because of his incompetence and lack of planning. We were so disappointed in how he handled things from start to finish. I won’t get into the details, but it was a very, very poor tour guide experience. We left feeling scammed- thank god the park is so amazing.
We’re experienced travels in Ethiopia and have never had an experience this poor with a tour operator. Steer far clear of Action Tours.

This comment is not clear to us. The name displayed on trip advisor page is hidden or attacking our company intentionally.
Anyway, as service giver, Action Tours is always working on creation of good company Image.
We perfectly know Cheberara Churchura National park, mainly Great Park for groups of Buffalo, Elephants and Hippos at Lake Bulo. I had a free day I addis between meetings.
I called action tours and booked a day trip outside of the city. Misganaw - the tour guide and owner of action tours was excellent.
He gave me all information I needed in order to decide this was done over the phone with a lot of patient. He was very creative making different proposals. Negotiated fairly and came with the proposal that met my time constraints and fields of interest.
He came on time to my hotel equipped with written information but as we sat in the car ( a good one ) I understood the he has more information in his head then in any brochure.
Misganau knows everything about Ethiopian history culture wild life and religion.
He is a combination of a tour guide businessman and I highly recommend him. No doubt I will ask action tours service next time I'm in Ethiopia.

It has been our second visit to Ethiopia. The first included Dalol, Erta Ale and Northern Ethiopia. This time we decided to visit Southern part (Omo Valley). We are heavy travelers. We've been to more than 40 countries but never formed such a nice relationship with our guides. Misganaw is very well educated, especially in history, culture, and religions. You will discover the whole new world of North-Western Africa for yourself. He never failed his promises and his drivers are excellent, which is extremely important there.
In short, you will not find better travel company in Ethiopia.

Andrei Strijakov and his wife Tammy have been with us in July 2016, a happy couple, always positive thinkers and cooperative to respect visiting time appointments.... Yes, it was during their visit period that we have discovered the rarely seen Wild Dogs in Mago National Park ( Omo Valley) . "Action tours" is not just a name ! A well organized and highly motivated owner who knows all the right places to visit and satisfy his customers. We made a 3500 Km round trip from Addis to the Northern and Eastern part of the country while visiting the most important sites and wildlife parks. The driver Ashu and the guide Isaac were highly experienced and a pleasure to travel with. They were very flexible when it came to organize the day and a lot of energy went into their efforts to make our trip most enjoyable. I would like to thank Mr. Misganaw again for the wonderful experience we had travelling through this magnificent country!
