it is not fun to visit the zoo at all. the lion's don't have enough space to properly move. They look like they are going crazy. They should close this facility and put the lion's in a better environment

It was an awesome and a great feeling being so close to royalty. Strongly recommend this activity. Only wish I could pet one of them. Lol.

I happened to be downtown walking about with an Ethiopian friend and saw this and asked about it so he suggested we walk through. We were maybe there 30 minutes and that was only because it was very crowded- it was a weekend and filled with local Ethiopians. This seems to be a gathering place, sort of park for locals... More

This zoo is the only Animal zoo found in Addis Ababa, which is small. In Animal Zoo it can be like a big zoo, animal safety, food and drink and children play ground but also adults spar time should be there. carnival and music entertainment can be here in abroad way. finally the location is good but the space is... This type of lion are very unique in their color and sizes. they are very big and fairly reddish in color. The only problem is that most if not all of the lions in that zoo are very old. there is need for having new generation of the same species. If you go round there also extremely beautiful antelopes and... More

I don't think the animals in this zoo get proper care. It is small place and don't have many animals. If you want to see real Ethiopian lion, you might have to go to safari outside Addis Ababa

The zoo is very old and poorly maintained. There are only a few animals on display, and they are not presented well. The good news is that the city is building a new and modern zoo which will open soon.
