I joined the tour with Yared Tours and Travel to visit south Ethiopia and Omo valley in Jan 2024.
This is an excellent company. The guide Mr Gech is really kind and he goes the extra miles to make the trip worthwhile.
For example, he communicated with the locals guide before we reach Turmi and found out there is a bull jumping ceremony. Thus with this knowledge, he changes the itinerary a little so that we can witness the bull jumping ceremony. It shows that the company is flexible and willing to goes the extra miles to ensure the tourists really gets the best experience.
Also, the the locals guides hired by this company is very kind and knowledgeable.
I will definitely recommend to go with Yared Tours and travels if you are interested to go to Ethiopia.

I did the Addis city tour with Yared tour and travel! It was a very interesting and pleasant tour. I really got to know the the city and the amazing history it has. The guide was very nice and knew every detail about the city and could answer any question you ask! For me the highlight of the tour was the ethnographic museum, which is located inside the Addis Ababa University! Here you really get to know The history of how people live(d) in Ethiopia and their habits. you will see how life was before, what they used and all the different culture of Ethiopia. It’s also nice that most of the tour can be done by foot, it gives a different experience than being in the car. For whoever wants to get to know the city better and its history, i would really recommend this city tour with Yared!

Mr. Gech organized a tour with us on the last minute from Addis Ababa for 8 days to the "Omo valley" and 2 days to the "Bale Mountains".
We got a well planed tour and Mr. Gech is a very experienced, friendly, and a more than well-connected tour guide in the south of Ethiopia.
The tour was a wonderful mix, according to our wishes. Between seeing the beautiful culture and landscape of Ethiopia and a little bit more adventurous things, like staying at a "Hamar village" overnight and hiking in areas where you can find no other tourists. Also Gech picked really nice locations for us to stay if needed.
We would highly recommend traveling with Yared Tours. They are well organized and have a good working infrastructure in the background!

We had a very positive experience with Yared Tours. Communication went very smooth, they were extremely flexible about last minute changes of the plan due to personal circumstances and thought with us to make sure we could still enjoy an amazing trip. It made communication very personal. We would definitely recommend organizing a trip with Yared tours!

Our 3 day trip to Bahir Dar and Gondar with Yared was perfect in all aspects. The organisation was very flexible in rearranging the program since we arrived 1,5 day later then planned. Thanks to our wonderful guide Talihun we could visit all the places we wanted to visit. What I also appreciate very much is the mix of nature and culture the trip offered and the mix of active hikes and relaxing elements. The hotels were very nice and also the transport with our own busdriver was perfect. The local guides were excellent. Thanks to them we saw hippo’s and monkeys and experienced the country and the local people. Our coffeesession at home with the guide, his wife and newborn baby was unforgettable. So was the lunch at the fruitbar in Gondar, a place we could never have found by ourselves.

I travelled to Ethiopia in December and I couldn’t recommend this company enough. There are many travel agents out in Ethiopia promising an immersive experience but I can truly say this company is the only one that did us a unique experience - access to true tribal life. Be careful not to fall privy to many companies who will drop you off in 4x4s for a 10 minute photo shoot.... the only way to fully experience this beautiful country is hiking to remote tribes that are not accessible by car.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but all I can say is be open minded and enjoy every moment as you will be overwhelmed by their sense of community and the love they have for everyone and everything. It will get under your skin!
In terms of what we did - We hiked along the Ethiopian landscape with local guides and donkeys. We ate with families at different settlements along our hike which gave us a much needed respite from the terrain.
In the evenings we would watch sunset while our local guide and host family would prepare us local food and local wine before we would spend the evening getting to know the families.
In terms of sleeping, we opted for the camping option which meant we would set up within the compound of the host family. For me, this was my favourite part - waking up to the sound of children playing and then unzipping my tent and being greeted by a goat!
My main contact for the visit was a lady called Elizabeth who is native English but had moved over to Ethiopia some 10 years ago and she was a great guide and so knowledgeable.
I cannot recommend this trip and company enough!!

I traveled solo as a female to Ethiopia. Yared organised everything so I had an authentic safe Ethiopian experience. It was amazing. Both Joseph (Addis guide) and Yared (owner) were experts!
